  • After a year of using our Traeger Tailgater it has become one of our go-to tools for cooking while camping. It is largest enough to cook for a small crew but small enough to pack away nicely. We would highly recommend one if you enjoy outdoor cooking and trying new recipes while camping or outdoors.

    Love your Traeger Tailgater - I want to look into a pellet smoker! The legs did look awkward. We enjoyed the *entire* video, we will be *back* to watch more! Danny & Lynn

      Thanks for watching. We have really enjoyed it even with the awkward legs.

    Good review man. Happy Halloween. Thumbs up from a small creator 😅

    I know it's a smoker, but can you do higher temperature stuff with it like Burgers, steaks, kebobs?

    • @JauntJunkies
      @JauntJunkies  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have done burgers, a cake and a few other things. I prefer my Weber for steaks and kebobs. But I am sure if you know what you are doing better than I do you could make it awesome.

    What are the dimensions when legs are folded up? And what are the dimensions of the main grill grate?

    • @JauntJunkies
      @JauntJunkies  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is what I founded on Traeger website. Thanks for watching. The grill is 37-inches wide and 18-inches deep. With the legs folded it is around 20-inches tall and with the legs extended it is 36-inches tall. The weight is 60 pounds. Total cooking space 300 sq in.

    Yup, the legs look awkward & rickety. Maybe it’s just the camera angle but they appear to bend like cheap tin metal. Perhaps they are a bit more sturdy than they look.

      They are more sturdy than they look but they are awkward. We have just started setting it on table and not worrying about the legs. Thanks for watching

    My son just got this! Do you notice a big fluctuations in the temps?

    • @JauntJunkies
      @JauntJunkies  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It bounces around a little. If it is cold out it does more. Most smokers bounce around. Thanks for watching.

      Mine did when I first got it, called customer support and they sent me a new controller and fixed the big swings.

      Mine fluctuates 5 degrees of set temp up or down. The key is to NOT adjust it over and over quickly or the firebox has too much fuel. Go UP to whatever temp you want without going OVER the temp you want. Set it where you want it and wait. I set an alarm.

    Recommend this over the ranger?

    • @JauntJunkies
      @JauntJunkies  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have not used the ranger so I can not say. I do know we have and still do really like this smoker.

    Not fast? It’s a smoker not a grill. Low ‘n slow for tough cuts of meat. Not designed for hotdogs.

    • @JauntJunkies
      @JauntJunkies  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep. But we have used it as an oven a few times. Just takes some time to
      Learn to plan long enough. Thanks for watching.

      The only thing is when we 1st got it the app get wouldn’t work. Traeger sent us a new one right away and never a problem since.

    Everyone complains about the legs, but try lifting a full size grill (like the Pro 34 or bigger) out of the bed of your truck time after time again. I'd rather deal with those measly legs.

    Rookie. Use Traeger pellets

    • @JauntJunkies

      Are you saying to use Traeger pellets or not too?

    • @lewismcfarcry
      @lewismcfarcry 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What, you work for Traeger or something??
      You can use any pellets you like so long as they're fresh or kept fresh. I've used different brands in my Traegers and haven't had a single problem.

    Legs work way better than the old one. You have to unfortunately and remove them.
