- An unreleased "Special Edition" of Sonic the Hedgehog for the SEGA Genesis, with multiple playable characters. Here, we have test footage of Tails in Green Hill Zone. This is a very early build, so multiple graphical glitches can be seen, and the Badniks and loops don't work properly.

THIS is the type of SONIC.EXE remaster I've been waiting for, one where there's actual gameplay in the form of Acts 1 and 2 first before going into the spooks.

The animals arent really dead because the game doesnt have sprites for dead animals, so the animals cycle through their animations
That does make sense but at the same time there aren't sprites for lets say knuckles dying in later episodes

I like how the 1-frame flash where the water and Sonic’s eyes turns red is treated more like a color palette error rather than a deliberate spook
I like that it isnt the classic "ohhhhh spooki dead animals" and instead, are glitched sprites of the animals. Really sells the "early build" vibe its capturing. Its a early special edition. Probably scrapped early on. Because of "problems" (you and i both know what these problems are lol) thats why the sprites of the animals are glitched.
This is so creepy in a way that makes it feel like a lost limited edition of Sonic 1 really exists, but the short backstory of this is really disturbing and outstandingly a fright, i hope this turns to a #LuigikidCreepypastaChallenge game soon.

A little critique I have is, the 3d render of sonic halfway through completely threw off the immersion because this is supposed to be an early build of the original sonic the hedgehog, the Sega Genesis was not capable of doing 3d renders
It was sort of possible, Toy Story managed to do it.
The main problem I have is that it's Modern Sonic.
Also, that's Modern Sonic, not Classic Sonic.
It could just be the form the creature took in this timeline. It's likely representing the entity in the game taking the shape of our blue boy. And without any 3D modeling to experience they just used what they had.

I like how in the 0:07 for a brief moment, when title screen fades away with the red palette, you can see the true face of that "Sonic" (Sonath) already. This type of slowly transition, when sky and water turns red, is indeed much cooler than some random frame of hyperrealistic blood, hedgehod with ketchup on his eyes and the year "666" near "SEGA" in the original Sonic.exe game. Good job on the series, and good luck to the author, I'd love to see what comes next. 👀

I love this depiction of Sonic.exe. In fact, I didn’t even realize it was Sonic.exe until I looked in the comments! The lack of enemies in Act 1 was really unnerving, the really fuzzy/minor key Sonic themes, how the animals appear glitched in Hill 3, Tails attempting to run away, everything is so good!!!

what i like about this is the effects don’t immediately start on the first zone. plus, tails actually attempts to leave when seeing sonic for the first time in forever. really great job on this!

It’s treated like a palette error rather than a deliberate spook, and the mouth being a more subtle change is a very nice touch

I really enjoyed that, it was beautiful to look at and more realistic that Tails would run away than go right for it. It did felt a little silly seeing Sonic’s 3d model. Probably cause it kinda look like he was gonna just t-pose out of nowhere
i like the smooth rotations, it shows that this was supposed to be a "limited edition" or a haunted one, and the magenta flowers on act 3, mwA art!
Even when Tails tried to walk away from the script, Sonic.exe dragged him back in.

I like how the "graphical glitches" are the characters having their exe color palettes (minus the eyes and blood)
i love the little detail of the spring not being on top of the tree, because a trained eye (the player) immediately realized somethings wrong with the game layout and it was modified right from the start

The most cursed thing is tails doing the knuckles/sonic run instead of the classic tails flying run animation.
I gotta know what this VHS filter is, the way it warps the music and visuals is oddly satisfying in a way. It's what I imagine an old memory sounds like.

This actually is pretty good only 1 thing is some sprites are a little too smooth don't get me wrong it's possible for the megadrive but back then it wasn't that smooth.
i mean, the sonic 2 prototype running animations for sonic was pretty smooth, also it shows this is a limited edition so, its actually kinda accurtate if u ask me
In my opinion, you should make this a trilogy, or maybe have much more episodes!
Perhaps do this with much more creepypastas, and connect them all somehow!
