if this was truly on the Mega Drive, the designers would have used chunks. some of these graphical level glitches look like whoever was designing the chunks was just incompetent and somehow placed tiles incorrectly. that's really hard to miss if you've actually ever tried to hack a Sonic the Hedgehog game on the Mega Drive. I know I'm really nitpicking, but it takes me out of the immersion sometimes.
