Also want to add- what you said about friendships is so true! I will never promise a friend anything I do not intend to keep. It's so hurtful and frustrating when people just BS. If we are friends, it's supposed be based on honesty and respect. Otherwise, what is the point of being friends?
I relate to this! One thing I find very toxic is that so many in the Autism community do not value those with non verbal high support Autism. They don't want to be associated with people who have these struggles- it gives a "pick me" vibe, as in people trying to appeal to neuro typicals. It truly breaks my heart. I have Autism (diagnosed in my 40s) my daughter is 21 and has high support Autism. She is my best friend and this world is better for having her in it. At least to me. Why can we not accept eachother? Why can we not show eachother kindness? This world is harsh, but we can make our lived experiences better by just being fair and kind.
@@theslitherysylvie4010 very true comment, granted I don’t want to associate with a lot of my peers either, but not because they’re default inferior, I just can’t deal with the toxicity anymore. I think someone on a Reddit thread mentioned internalized ableism to describe this situation and I agree, people on the autism spectrum secretly hating other autists, maybe because they hate themselves
@@tarsar9074fully agree, we should be helping each other but instead all a lot of us do is attack each other, it’s disgusting and inexcusable since a lot of us have been on the receiving end and know how much that sucks…. And then they just turn around and do it to our peers…

@@theslitherysylvie4010 fully true, glad someone else feels similarly, hit me up on discord if you ever want to talk further about it or anything

Yes, thank you. Yall need Jesus, we were born to be a light in the world. To lift each other up instead of creating divide. Aspie but not proud.
