Visited Slovenia 2 weeks ago, and really fell in love with that charming country. Lake Bled was a fairytale, the gorge hike was amazing and the Postjona caves were simply surreal (you could take photos there). The seafood pizzas and pastas were yum and NO ONE should miss trying the Kremsnita - the creamy delicious cake. And I wont even talk about the wines .. :) Best of everything.. the people. They were so friendly and nice... I cant even
@@Bigly You can travel between cities and most villages with the bus. Trains are also widely used and you can use them to see most of places they mention here in the video.

I went to Slovenia last year and I'm still thinking about it to this day. Such a beautiful country. These are great choices, the Soca valley especially - loved it there. Really liked Ljubjana too, it feels so relaxed and quiet for a European capital city. You've given me some great ideas for my trip back, need to see that coastline! Great video :)

Slovenia is amazing! One of my favorite countries that we have visited. The people were so friendly and its not overcrowded with tourism YET. I don't think that will last to long though.
You should also visit lake Bohinj, just 30km away form lake Bled. And there are also few waterfalls,... if you ever come back, find me, and I will show you some amazing places,....

Great video! I've been there to visit family twice. We travelled to all the places on this video and then some. Staying with cousins we were able to see how they live, where they work and go to school etc... Have you been to Lake Cerknica - Wikipedia?

Hi Britt! We did have a car to get around and that is definitely the easiest way. If that is not possible, they have a pretty comprehensive bus system that is fairly priced!

You ve had a great journey. I would suggest your path to everyone, that are here for the first time, because its a loop, packed full with views. But for a second time traveller, there is either an option to go to your favourite area and do some things you havent had time to do and enjoy it some more. I mean Bohinj, Kranjska gora, The Karst, Bovec... Many secret places in this regions and activities to add on a bucket list. My favourite is to climb up the mangart road with the bicycle, great views and guaranteed fewling of achivement and proud :). But i can also suggest you do the eastern slovenia trip, some great places there... Jezersko, Velika planina, kamniska bistrica valley, arboretum gardens, logarska dolina, rogla, ptuj, prekmurje, Rogaska slatina Podčetrtek, krsko with rajhenburg castle, kartuzija pleterje, Otočec, hot water source Klevevž, Kolpa river, Žužemberk, Snežnik castle, City of Laško, Celje, Celjska koča, thermal spas and rivieras. :)

Yes, Slovenia is a wonderful country, known as green jewel of Europe. I am from Slovenia, though my home is Canada for many years. It is sad that hardly anyone goes north and east of Ljubljana as if that city is the main thing. There a cities, wine regions, rivers, mountain ranges (although nothing like Alps) that get overlooked mostly because the politicians and tourist office only push for and sing praises to Ljubljana and western and southern parts. Old time rivalries where the city with political power seats treats the rest of the country as inferior. Sorry it's not sour grapes, it has been like this for ages.
I am interested to know , f you had no financial ties to your home city and ( Own an Internet Business ) no family , nor close friends to keep you . what would prevent you from living in Slovenia ?
Yes! There is so much for us to see and do in Slovenia! We wish we had more time to see more while we were there. We will definitely be back! Slovenia is one of our favorite places we’ve traveled to. Any suggestions on other amazing things to see and do?

Its our favourite country in Europe. We usually stay in Kranjska Gora and tour from there. Slovakia is our next road trip
That Piran city looks great and it sure has some Italian influences. That food, incredible. Just the looks makes me wanna go to Slovenia right away.
The seafood in Piran was so good! And the food at Hisa Franko was simply amazing! You should definitely plan a trip, you will love it!

@@WanderfulRevolution if you are comming to the coast check out izola and ljubljanska street in izola :) its a hidden gem :) the best part is to sit down at the bar there and have a chat with the locals while sourrounded by herbs and amazing buildings
Yes, Slovenia is a wonderful country, known as green jewel of Europe. I am from Slovenia, though my home is Canada for many years. It is sad that hardly anyone goes north and east of Ljubljana as if that city is the main thing. There a cities, wine regions, rivers, mountain ranges (although nothing like Alps) that get overlooked mostly because the politicians and tourist office only push for and sing praises to Ljubljana and western and southern parts. Old time rivalries where the city with political power seats treats the rest of the country as inferior. Sorry it's not sour grapes, it has been like this for ages.

Yes! There is so much for us to see and do in Slovenia! We wish we had more time to see more while we were there. We will definitely be back! Slovenia is one of our favorite places we’ve traveled to. Any suggestions on other amazing things to see and do?
