Here is a Muay Thai tutorial with the first man I ever fought, over 10 years ago, breaking down the long knee, or "spear knee". Minor details make them very hard to defend against, stop incoming punches, and give you power to break some ribs!

I dig ur videos Shane really good stuff. I love the practicality of these moves too. I am pretty good at throwing knee strikes plus all the variations like flying knee scissor knee strike but somehow I prefer panantukan ti normal boxing. it be great if u could post a video comparing the two.

    Hi Shane,
I am picking kickboxing back up after many years of being away from it. The gym that I just enrolled at makes you stay in the fundamentals class until they deem you advanced enough to move on to the general class. I’m not an absolute beginner and feel like the fundamental class is full of older folk who prefer to kick box for fitness purposes only. That being said, I’d like to progress as quickly as possible so I can get into the fun stuff again. Do you have any advice/video suggestions for me? I really want to make sure that I know all of the fundamentals and well because, ironically enough, the fundamentals class instructors don’t do the best job at making sure the students have the fundamentals down :( I don’t want to say that I want to “impress” them, but I’d like for them to be pleasantly surprised with my skills so I can move on to the “real” class.

Hey Shane I was wondering if you can make a full remake video on how to fight someone in close quarters (standing or sitting) like how can I secure Muay thai clinch while punching my opponent. Because today I almost ended up fighting this guy in a bathroom cabin but I dispatched the problem. So now am wondering if I fought him what kind of moves would I use in such space. Thanks in advance hope you will help me on this out Shane

Hey Shane I think I spelled that right man you produce quality videos and I've learned a ton I'm 5/7 and I weigh 180 pounds. Could you maybe tell me how to stop tearing skin on my knuckles I'm not hitting a canvas bag but I am using no gloves I have them but I don't use them I try to train how I would fight in a fight. Is there any kicks that would work for me I'm fairly flexible I'm close to getting full Chinese splits. I can land round houses and side kicks I'll throw a crescent kick but not often. I prefer not to fight but some kid sucker punched me in the back of the head in 6th grade I'm a freshman in highschool this kid weighed way less than me and he caught a side kick with his face and it was over after that. And it's always the knuckles on my right hand not the left left is week arm and I don't throw kicks with my left leg. Any tips ? Thanks. Sincerely -zach boles add me on Facebook please.

So you open up the hips to the side of the supporting leg and flex the thigh of the kneeing leg more? I didn't really get the twisting motion of the right leg... You corkscrew inwards, counter-clock wise? Hope i'm not overthinking this Thanks Shane!

What would you say is your "main" martial arts background? Or you compete in MMA? As you're passing a muay thai technique I couldn't help but notice how your stance is flat footed and your weight is all over your front leg, not really ideal for someone who has to worry a lot about leg kicks. Having a lighter front foot also opens space for a switch knee, or even that same knee in advance technique he showed.
