Best easy to understand video for 9.5" drums I've seen. I like that it is to the point with no B.S. Wish I had watched this before I did my brakes as it would have saved me a lot of frustrations. Thanks for the excellent video!
Excellent. For those watching, be aware at 5:00 that the red spring between the 2 pads feeds through with the wire hook to the top above the sprocket wheel. For the opposite drum, it is not only facing the other way but inserts opposite. Otherwise, the end hook will foul the sprocket teeth on one side, found only when done and trying to adjust, and all from following a different 'professional' guide online. In the video the hook goes into the pad from the top, the opposite drum is not only facing the other direction, but needs to start from the back, not the top as well.
It looks like the drum spreader/spacer bar is on the wrong way. All the other pictures and videos I have seen have the hump side going away from axle. Is this a mistake? Does it matter which way the bar goes?
Did you put the e-brake spacer bar in backwards. That is to say, the indentation of the bar goes toward the backing plate. It appears you have the indentation toward the front (outside of brakes).
Thanks the only other video I found with step by step was in super fast forward lol this will help me get the job done....too bad I got the wrong pads or it would already be done.
Would the backing plate fit a factory 1986 El Camino? I I know I would have to pull axle s out. hate the clips want to change that to bolted wheel cylinder if I can. Thanks for the video
@@charlesmcmartin8659 Do you have the part number & a link to your store? I guess it’s the same size shoe to? The cylinder on passenger side fits really loose with the clip just seems to loose to me other side doesn’t move as much. But if I’m going to change the backing plate I rather have bolt on cylinders. Thanks for your help Thank you for your help
@@carnut7615 C-clip is for another style of brake. The emergency brake lever on the other style has a stud that passes through the primary shoe and the c-clip hold the lever in place. FYI: on this second style of brake, there is a spring washer that goes on this stud and is positioned between the lever and the shoe. I don't think the spring washer is included in the kit.
Anybody notice what the C clips are for? They weren't used in the video, but when I pulled mine apart to do the job one fell out of somewhere and it was for a std 9.5 rebuild too.
Excellent video. Do you sell the brake tools? Sure beats trying to stretch a spring with three screw drivers: one in your mouth and two in your hands! Used you guys for replacement brake lines for a vintage Dodge truck. Excellent quality. Those GM 9.5" 14 bolt rear ends are not that common anymore. I was fortunate to find one. Thanks.
Excellent tutorial! It made all the difference putting my dad's Yucon back together. Please know that, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13
I can't believe so many of these videos don't explain to fit the shoes to the drum first. New shoes ten to rock too much and will contribute to a spongy brake pedal. You can bend the shoes to allow only a rise of .030" on the opposite end of the shoe as you hold one end down in the drum. This is a standard procedure in competent shops. People that are watching this should pay attention to my instruction.
Probably the best how to video I’ve ever seen!! Well done !!

Fantastic Video. Finally, some close ups and slow movements. Good job
Finally an actual step by step for drum brakes. I feel more at ease about doing the work on my c10
This isn't why TH-cam exists, but the value of videos like this is greater than the sites original intensions.
Thanks !! glad you liked our video!!
Awesome video. Anyone who watches it can feel confident to do it! Thank you!
Thanks!! Glad you liked it.
Great video!!! Helped me out putting brakes on my new axle. Didn't have any references beside this. Easy peasy.
This guy is good, he explains it in detail, shows everybody how it is done ,also taking his time, step by step. good job bro!!!!!!!
best video of the sort. So many other frustrating ones out there that skip these steps.
Excellent video...best I've seen...clear and slow. I could see everything being done....thanks.

You are correct !Hump side should face out . They should correct the video
Great vid, been fighting rebuild kits missing parts and this FINALLY helped me figure it out.
I finally found a video where they actually showed it step by step👍🏻
excellent video, thanks for going to a lot of trouble and teach us all the correct way to do a job
Glad we could help!!
Much better video than 12 years ago.
Thank you for this video! Would have been totally lost without this for my Inline Tube brake replacement!
You are very welcome. Please let us know if you need anything in the future.

Thank you to show it
Could you show them rear dram brake Toyota Highlander 2000-2003 ?

Nice video btw I always wondered what are the small c clips for in the spring kit 😀
I wondered that too, only reason why I watched the video because I thought I was forgetting something.

Hello.
What the C-clip for?
Awesome video!! Wasn't sure about the pivot due to it being a new design from oem. But this video helped me with that.
Glad we could help!!
Hi where do you get the color coded spring kit. My kit is generic all black. Please let me know. Thank you

Great video. So much easier without an axle though.
How about the driver side?
You will Repeat the same process on the other side.
there was 2 small c clips in spring bag but did not show where they go?
Please send a picture to support@inlinetube.com and we will get back to you with your answer.
Thank you Sr: nice n slow process: I got it 👌🏽
Glad we could help you.
Do you really need the parking brake attached? I don't want to run a parking brake..
