It's basically Fantasy just with better balance and ongoing improvements (it also gets its own fluff with linguists and historians in the background). Version 1.0 will finally be released on April 30th and rules will then be adjusted and improved every ~6 months. ETC is already using it this summer.
Steve, chaos knights... fleeing from charges like elves = facepalm. - It's 'Blood for the blood god!', not 'flowers for the pansies lords' - Good game though and nice to see you guys vary the lists.

You are correct, I originally wrote as just "chaos.. fleeting.." but thought it was too obscure and somehow thought they were knights when mending. Thanks for the correction!
+ydin9 "Blood for the blood god" Is just Khorne, not all of chaos. Tzeenchen followers are certainly happy to flee and fight another day when they've performed the proper rituals. From what steve said, this army does not have any marks, and khorne wouldn't approve of his casters anyway.

Yeah, Steve personally correct me to this on the "Rules you got wrong"-show, on what job his Marauders are supposed to do. I'd still argue it's more glorious to face-tank charges against units that are as mobile as your units and more fitting to Chaos but might be the wrong tactic sometimes.
i'll certainly say that the warriors of chaos as a whole are very, "heavy armor charge into melee, hit your face while you hit mine tactics" the differences are mostly in how the actual leaders fight, as they are the most likely to get the actual boons that are specific to their god, that and chosen. The daemons are another thing, but this is a warrior army. If you are a reader, i'd recommend the Malus Darkblade series, a couple novels in there are some pretty cool fights against chaos, including a siege. Shows a lot of chaos tactics in action, very fun!
The moment you realize you'd rather see the Chaos win than see another Vampire Counts victory.

+ictaris Mages cannot look out sir their own miscast, that would be very silly indeed as THEY are the one exploding XD. You are right on the other thing
Except Necromancers and Vampires don't crumble, so I think it equaled out when his Necromancer Crumbled with the zambies.
Great game!! That Giant charging the Zombies at 17:00 was too risky
1. regeneration works against combat resolution wounds. possibility of terrorgheist surviving (albeit low possibility).
2. unit strength of 5 required to benefit from flank or rear charges. the corpse cart won.
3. warriors of chaos are initiative 5? i don't recall that.
4. horses also benefit from frenzy. at least 3 more attacks against the chaos warriors.
also, and i'd need to dig out my vamp book to confirm, i vaguely remember anything with the vampire rule having its own 6" march bubble. i'm not certain though cause i never had my non-vamp units seperated like that.

30.40. Forgot the tunderstomp. Might have actually really mattered if this wiped the unit and the Necromancer. (Lol it did in the end, ok)
32.30. Generals on large targets have 18'' bubbles. Should be on the large target rules. Would have mattered with the test.
I still don't understand how or why the meta changed from having several blocks of 20-30 models in 6th and 7th ed to having just one massive block of at least 40 models and a few units of 5-10 models in 8th...
Vampires lost at 22:00. Terrorgheist and good magic was the only hope of whittling down the block of chaos warriors, plus the ghost charge let Steve clear up his hopeless roadblock for free. Game completely ended in just five seconds of decision making. Kind of impressive, actually.
When you wiped out the zombies with the necromancer (combined Marauder and Dragon charge) wouldn't the necromancer still be around? He has more Wounds so wouldn't he be left?
T around 30:00 you forgot you managed to pull off Fulminating cage, you should have had an extra d3 for fire cloak.
@miniwargaming you don't count ranks when flank charged as they are disrupted
To disrupt your enemy you need at least a supporting rank of 5 models. So the Terrorgheist could not disrupt the Warriors.

I think one of the problems we're having now is Steve's just too damn good at this game compared to his opponents at the moment...

Dunno whether someone else has mentioned it, but at 17:44 (and the couple of moves preceding it) those guys looked rather close to be marching without testing... Or I could be completely misremembering rules #MissYouFantasy

Nope, only if you disrupt them as well. To disrupt you need a supporting rank of at least 5 models.

+ChromeStriker It is a weird rule, 9th age does a better job of simulating this. It is even weirder that disrupting someone does not even remove steadfast.

Your champion would've had one more attack against the blood Knights
Great battle sadly this showcased one of the few things I disliked about 8th ed, hordes. One giant unit of chaos warriors is tough to beat(you were a good sport by not using a mark though). This is a big reason I started playing 7th again. Not perfect either but there were a lot more units on the table.

Yes they do, unless Disrupted.
Crumble doesn't even make sense. If there are less animated warriors to control there is less stress on the caster and his magic on them should be stronger

Stubborn units can choose to flee. Units that are immune to psychology cannot.
