THE Ultimate MK7.5 Golf R Fast-Road Package [+93HP & 109lbfts, OZ Ultraleggera, BILSTEIN, Camber]

  • Are you looking for the ultimate fast-road package for your MK7.5 Golf R? It doesn't get much better than this.
    This customer dropped their MK7.5 Golf R (non-GPF model) for a series of power, sound and handling improvements. For handling he opted for BILSTEIN B14 coilovers which are ride-height adjustable coilovers that improve the body and wheel movement better for performance use, improving handling and inspiring confidence with the added benefit of a reduced arch gap for improved aesthetic. These are matched with 034 Motorsport Top Mounts which add another negative degree of camber, unlocking a substantial amount of front axle grip for improved turn-in and cornering performance. To make the most of this mechanical grip, 0Z Ultraleggera wheels are wrapped in Michelin P4S tyres.
    For the power the customer opted for the APR Stage 1 ECU software with DSG software. The APR ECU software optimises fuelling, ignition, boost and many other maps inside the ECU to improve engine output significantly whilst the APR DSG software optimises the DSG gearbox for faster shifting and most importantly higher torque limits and clutch clamping pressure to prevent clutch slip and make the most of the engine output now available, without being restricted with artificial limitations from the gearbox.
    To fully de-restrict the intake path a 4 piece intake was installed which includes Racingline R600 Intake, Turbo Inlet Hose, Turbo Inlet Elbow & Turbo Muffler Delete. These upgrades allow the turbo to spool freely by greatly reducing intake restriction and unleash all those incredible turbo sounds! To complete the experience, the customer also had fitted a Resonator Delete which replaces the factory muffler for a nice improvement in tone and volume.

      @@Enviax Cheers mate, I did it myself. Wheels are the Matt graphite silver from OZ then got some decals made up by a guy on FB called EZ Mods

      @@the_a3_8v94 'best' is a bit of a wide term, what do you want by best?
      Performance-wise, around -2.5 to -3 is what we usually run at the front axle.
      For the best results, you need to test for your specific car, tyre and suspension setup.

      We don't fudge our figures to make customers or TH-cam happy, the figures are the figures... You'll notice that even if a MK7/7.5R non GPF makes 298-330HP stock, with the same mods they always end up with a similar output.

      @@RegalAutosport yes agree. have Unicorn stage 1 on my 7.5 non gpf that showed 312hp stock, 371 post map and with TT inlet pipe. Was just surprised at the the 328hp. As you say its the delta that counts.

    Are you guys gonna stay with APR since they discontinued stage 2 tuning or switch to custom tuning or another brand?

      For Stage 1, the APR software is super hard to beat. For anything else, we have our own in-house ECU software which we've been doing for many years now!

      Thanks for the comment! To see the peak HP/TQ gains it's not a MUST, especially in the colder climate currently.
      When it comes to summer, with a hotter climate the stock intercooler will become more of a limiting factor as it struggle to keep charge temps consistently cool, and the ECU will automatically begin to limit output.
      If you want the maximum power and torque in all conditions, an intercooler is recommended for sure.

    Great torque increase, the AWD can remove any torque steer impacts? Love the wheels but also great to leave the 4 pipes at the back, more sleeper.

      Thanks! These cars don't really have torque-steer, despite being predominantly front wheel drive cars. The driving dynamics can be improved massively with the addition of a Wavetrac LSD though!
