Thank you Dave. You know I've touched on these topics in a couple of videos. Not going near it from now on as I don't want to keep giving these things airtime...
Bikes are all about passion, and that passion can show itself both positively and negatively. Biking also used to be about individuality, so when did any of us start giving a f**** about what anyone else thinks about our biking choices? People need to stop confusing the internet with real life and get out a bit more. I've owned a Kawasaki zx12r for nearly 20 years and bought a new Gold Star earlier this year. I love both bikes in different ways for how they make me feel. I can honestly say from experience that no-one needs or uses all the power of bigger bikes on UK roads. So don't bother chasing power figures, just buy the bike that makes you feel great and ignore anyone that says otherwise. Keep up the great content and chin up mate. Tomorrow is another new day!
Thanks Jerry and I couldn't agree more, I have a Daytona 650 with 115hp and I would choose my Goldstar everytime... it's just not fun to ride powerful motorcycles on the road anymore... cheers, Sean
Couldn’t agree more. Social media promotes anger and negativity as it generates income for them and the content providers. Great views from your bike along those amazing roads. Look forward to watching the rest.
Great ride again, lovely commentary, well done that man, yep the weather in that part of Spain is or can be different, thanks for my memories of the area, on another note I don’t buy papers and only look at the news occasionally to know what’s going on as you said bad news sells papers, positive attitudes bring positive days, thanks for the vid great, Bay Bimbler
Its interesting watching your Spain Picos experience and comparing it to our own. We love riding in Spain. Emptier roads, friendly locals and usually very reasonably priced food and drink. Must admit I worry when I watch Richy V take a group over that road where the dogs are. He's a very good rider, and I'm sure no one wants to admit it could be too difficult for them on a big bike. We recognised the Fuente de Parador, its a great walk from the top of the cable car (which we filmed a couple of years back) We've not really watched your channel much before, but we found ourselves nodding in agreement with much of what you said about trying to stay positive and keep away from the negative vids. (Unfortunately, it's difficult to miss some of it!) We are friends of the Parador group. We love the places and did a Pyrenees Parador tour this year (The Parador in Hondarribia was anything but cheap!!) Beautiful and historic mind.
Thanks for this kind comment. I actually got the idea for this route from Richy V so I must give him credit for it. He's a ballsy confident guy and I do admire him for that. I think sometimes his group get great confidence from him leading them up there. I'm actually editing the video where I go back up the trail and believe me it's bloody hard work and doesn't come across on camera. On a giant steed of an adv bike it must be intimidating for those riders...
Great to see these roads again , did the 'Pots to Pans' run (amongst others) around the Picos on a Blackbird 20yrs ago, fantastic surfaces and testing corners. Still have the 'Bird' but do more miles on a RE Hunter350 these days. Good vid series.

Those dogs would definitely have you and those Spanish mastiffs have a very high natural guarding instinct, they are very big powerful dogs, we know someone who has them in Spain! They will tackle wolves and even bears! Joking aside if they chase you and you come off it could be very nasty, some parts of Spain are lawless too so you would struggle to get help!
I wasn't sure whether they were just trying to scare me off or if it was more serious. Some people say get off the bike and walk, guess I'll never know what the correct move was.... thanks 👍
@ Many of these guarding dogs they use are not domesticated, they spend their entire lives out with the flocks so they haven’t been socialised with people generally! Glad you made it out of there relatively unscathed ! 👍

Another stunning video of your travels in Spain. When i saw those dogs i would have kept on going especially as one took a chunk out of your trouser leg. It is so nice to hear the thrum of the BSA engine as you make your way, How are the you finding tyres in the wet ?. I've stopped watching youtubers that put out negativity life is too short for that. Well done and hope you keep at it.

I did comment on the other video about the dogs and how to deal with them but in true youtube fashion it has vanished. Maybe this one won't. Don't approach a flock protected by dogs at speed. If possible go around. If the flock are on the road stop and wait at a distance till they move. If you have to approach approach slowly, preferably engine off. If you get unwanted attention from one or several of the dogs, stop. Don't stare directly at it, don't turn your back. Calm and no sudden moves. Be patient, the dog will realise you are not a threat pretty quickly. That said I know that is easier said than done when faced with an angry 120lb dog.
Allowing for editing, there was only one other car and the chap on his mountain bike!! As regards going to a dealer to try stuff on to keep businesses going locally, I do that as much as I can. There's a large motorcycle accessories shop I go to which is near enough. I ordered a crash helmet online which didn't fit so I took it back personally and tried a few on. I also tried some winter trousers on which if I order online would no doubt not fit as I'm so short. In the long run it saves me time.
should have put on a sheep outfit going up that mountain, the dogs would have left you alone abit confused mind-you one of the flock riding a motorcycle ,,haha
Cheers for vid. Great scenery and very inspiring for a future trip. Completely agree about certain channels putting out angry or clickbait content. They're just not worth our energy. I went to check out a channel I used to follow to see what the content was like (a certain ex English policeman, (SF)) and the content was argumentative, unnecessarily opinionated, and shallow. Also when politely (genuinely) challenged on certain points made the creator was condescending and insulting. The same creator is then quick to to shout about being harassed but he comes across as just insecure. This kind of content is toxic imo.
That looked a tad scary at the water stop. I do like the BSA, but due to my wee leggies, was too high for me. Just hope they get a dealership up here in Scotland again. Am like you, don’t like some of these vibes on TH-cam, I personally want to get on with everyone as we share the the same interests. Some stunning scenery on your trip Sean. I liked that tool, you used to oil the chain.😊 Crummy weather here now.😢
Thanks Mark, mind you, the two bikes you have a both lovely. BSA perhaps not needed with those two in the stable... I saw the glass black Fireball Meteor the other day, that's a nice colour too..
I personally love the goldstar! The whole bike industry is in a mess. I brought a very smart z750 last year and planned on trading it in for a goldstar when I could get a used one for a good price. The goldstar has come down to the price I was happy to pay and nowhere will take the z750 in PX. Or will offer a token payment for it. I can't have both but hopefully in the spring things will pick up and I can get a red goldstar. It will look incredible in the garage next to my granddad's old bsas.
I think there is still a red one in Midwest Moto, I'll have a look when I'm next up there... it's £4,999. Might be the black one tho. They'd probably take a part ex as they want to clear their stock of Goldstars
Couldn't believe what i saw today at the start of your video. I have just booked 3 nights in May at Parador Fuente De and it looks like you are there. If so, what do you think of it ?
Hi Dale! It's excellent, it has a mountain lodge feel, very comfy bed and is located 2 mins walk from the cable car that travels up to the top of Fuente De. It has undercover moto parking for free but also very safe parking for cars. All in I liked it. If you want to send me an email I can send you some stills of the inside and more details as you prefer... Also hope you signed up to Parador amigos to get your free drink and 5% off... cheers, Sean

Here in UK, I was always told never drink from mountain sources as it could be affected with say deep sheep etc? Anyone else got thoughts on this? I only q this as I was very sick after I did just that on a very hot day on a Yorkshire moor.
Thanks for the comment, I usually drink out of any mountain river or stream. If I see a water course moving through an industrialised farming area then I am wary because of what they spray on the fields, crops...
personally i never listen to the web, nobody should - it's mostly a faceless place and brings out the worst in folk - as for using random peoples comments to influence your passions or buying decisions, well i have to be harsh and say don't be a dick - go ride the bike, or go see the item whatever it may be but see it for yourself - make up your own mind - i see little realistic reason to dislike this bike as an example , price drops happen - they did the right thing by reacting and sorting their bikes - surely that is a reason to support the brand.... MM when you wish to sell yours let me know
Pity i didn't know that sooner, you could have had mine and unlike what Fillingham said it wasn't rusty or left outside. But we all know about empty vessels don't we.
80 euros is a lot to pay but for what you are getting it is fantastic value. It’s sad that people are knocking bsa for the price reduction. These people would have bought the bike because they thought it was great value when launched and are now begrudging new buyers getting a good deal. Hang onto the bike and it isn’t a problem.
I think for the first time the last 3 bikes I'll be extending my ownership for 2+ years. The bike does everything I want it to do and I've spent money customising the bike to make it my bike if that makes sense. There's some nice new stuff coming through but no reason to off load the BSA...
Good videos. A shame you couldn't do the Espinama-Sotres section. If you return through the area, and do it in the same direction, keep in mind that you will find the difficult section going downhill. I prefer to do the difficult section uphill, if the same happens to you, consider doing it in the Sotres-Espinama direction. You have already seen that the descent to Espinama is not difficult and the turns are cemented. The complicated section is near to Sotres and you will have to go downhill. - th-cam.com/video/gmXJdXQeQ7M/w-d-xo.htmlsi=jzOK0mFflWE3K5kj - It is essential that if you return to the area, you take the stretch of road from Sotres to Tresviso. For me the most beautiful road in Picos de Europa - th-cam.com/video/OGiIR9TAkFU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=F8MXwd3ni0uaOfJ0 - . Other roads that are worth a lot in that area, Desfiladero de los Bellos and the climb to the Covadonga Lakes, the descent of this road has incredible views. - th-cam.com/video/1MAQC-BYiOE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=labhR6qJWANnohiF - Near to the Cervera de Pisuerga parador, an incredible track begins, which runs through the Pineda Valley. The other reason for the dogs is cattle theft which is why they attack people as well as their predators. Shame you couldn't go back, but I assume that's how the local cattle owners work. Just think, take a truck up the roads and take them.

Wolf in sheep's clothing... 😅
Thank you MoD, appreciate the comment. You can travel to Northern Spain from Rosslare...
You can tour on anything anywhere!
Great comment! Facts!
I liked that tool, you used to oil the chain.😊
Crummy weather here now.😢
Thanks Mark, mind you, the two bikes you have a both lovely. BSA perhaps not needed with those two in the stable... I saw the glass black Fireball Meteor the other day, that's a nice colour too..
@ got 3 in stable at moment with adding the MT07
can you show how you lube the chain please . looks good way.mick
@@MindfulMotorcyclist Thanks for that Sean. Was just interested to know i made a good choice especially as my partner is on the back of the Tiger for this one. You know the rules, if the ladies are happy then we are too LOL
Great ride out thankyou. Shame you didnt go back up, due to weather and those bloody dogs.Sensible call no doudt. Yes there has been some unpleasant videos by people . Small request, Try not to be drawn in on those topics. Just continue with tours and bike reviews , All of which you do very well. Ride safe.Bfn Mike, Sunny Wales
Thank you Mike, another person has said the same, I'll endeavour to leave the topic alone now and return to motorcycles. Cheers, Sean
@@MindfulMotorcyclist Sean, Just having a senior moment. I was in Arenas de Cabrales (Gateway to Picos) last July on a walking holiday with a moutain guide. Scenery out of this world ., Hoping to return very soon. Bfn Mike.Sunny Wales. 12 deg today.and 70 mile ride out, Most enjoyable.
- th-cam.com/video/gmXJdXQeQ7M/w-d-xo.htmlsi=jzOK0mFflWE3K5kj -
It is essential that if you return to the area, you take the stretch of road from Sotres to Tresviso. - th-cam.com/video/1MAQC-BYiOE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=labhR6qJWANnohiF -
Near to the Cervera de Pisuerga parador, an incredible track begins, which runs through the Pineda Valley. It is a round trip, since on the border with Cantabria it is prohibited to continue and you have to return through the same place. - th-cam.com/video/Y8M0_-zDnFc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=3h5l_hj2vQvv0VPx -
Thank you for this detailed comment and for taking the time to share the links. I'll be back to the trail...
The other reason for the dogs is cattle theft which is why they attack people as well as their predators. Shame you couldn't go back, but I assume that's how the local cattle owners work. Just think, take a truck up the roads and take them.
I suspect the cattle owners would be happy with the byway being less used by outsiders tbh...
Okay, how did you do that video with your wife yesterday! Did you fly back 🙄😊 The content of that one was current. You’re playing with my mind now. Probably explains your handle 😊
Well unfortunately, it's not that clever 😂, I just couldn't keep up with editing the trip videos so I've done a mix. It's not ideal to be honest.
@ It’s when you said Thursday at the start and it is Thursday. Yep, you’re time travelling. Watching the video. No worries turning round on that wet grass, you’ve got knobblies. We went to Burgos a couple of times. Beautiful.
Your positive attitude is refreshing to all the negativity atm.
I treat u tube with a open mind, and yes there are those only interested in the income generated.. Which is fine, but I can see through it..
I am interested in the stand you used when lubing your chain.. You mentioned it was on a previous video?
