As a teenager my friend Craig Walker and I built an 8 foot Sabot from half a,sheet of 3/4 plywood and a full sheet of 1/4 inch plywood. We fitted her with a 17' 7 " mast and my mom sewed a 78 Sq ft sail for her. Lots of hiking out was needed as we did laps around Craig's sister and her pal sailing a heavy catamaran on Salton Sea CA back in the 1960's :)
Great viewing having been around boats most of my life. I recal so many classic boars steadily fading away on some pontoon because their owners had gotten too old to maintain and sail them. A few were virtually given away but even less were sympathetically restored. Imputus and self honesty with regards to costs in both time and finances are essential for these lovely things to survive.....
Hey Tom. I am enjoying these videos. I went to your website and tried getting the membership. It didn’t seem to go through. Any chance you could look into it? Ian from London Ontario
Am I right in thinking that the series showed several projects each episode? I remember this boat as well as Keryl, but not sure I ever saw the complete series.

Dale Skidmore yes there are 3 more boats after this one.
Drinking on the water. The Capt with just an open container would be hauled off in handcuffs in the States.
@Bercilak de hautdesert Must not have "a law" on the canals.
False
Could you fit an outboard to this?
Please do follow-ups, where are they now?
Wow you're allowed to drink and boat over there??? You'd get in serious trouble doing that in the US
Nope, go to any sailing regatta or Wednesday night club racing anywhere, all drinking.
@@garrettfalls7953 Wow. Just another reason to be an anglophile lol
Mate, just offer it up 🙃
Want to see it done right??? 'Nick Gates -- Getting afloat... your welcome.

Your dingo my wingo I say
Gordon is cooked
600 $ for that junk, oh its a lovely classic .....so fucking what !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Restoring a nice dinghy. Narrative sounds like hyperboly as if it is emergency heart surgery. Like the topic. Over the top drama, not so much.
and it's hyperbole.
@@gretschclassic Don"t exaggerate🙂
Haha very good. 😀
This guy needs to do some research first. From this video it's clear that he has no clue what he's looking at or what to do.
Interesting boat. Commentary BS
