I would put pin/paper on the back, put what I want to use as top quilt thread in bobbin and reverse top thread as bobbin thread and quilt from the back, that way if any paper is left after washing, you won’t see it. Just a suggestion from experience.
Thank you for the tutorial and template! You're a great teacher! I haven't done much in the way of free motion so I need to practice, practice, practice!
Love the design! Thanks for sharing it! BTW, you could try running a warm iron over the paper to flatten it out. Or run it over a table edge gently, upper curl side down. Just a couple of things that have worked for me. I will definitely try this!
I just did my first paper piece quilt and you can find those little pointy tool whatever they're called at the dollar tree 2 in a pkg. It really did help
Thank you so much for sharing your pattern it’s totally awesome I love how you showed tracing with the pin it’s a good memory I have a problem quilting on my domestic sewing machine, I have a long arm it’s way easier to free motion on the long arm but on my domestic I have no control thanks a much for showing how to do all this❣️🧵✂️🪡💓❤️💗💖
@@crystalbartley9447 I buy the “pet hair” lint rollers in pet section of Walmart. They are much stickier and work great on wool mats, design wall thread messes, ends of jelly rolls before unrolling them…endless uses for Quilter’s.
@@StitchObsessed try pet hair sticky rollers much stickier/tackier than clothes ones. I would also try ironing a big piece of freezer paper to the front and see if that picks off anymore paper, for you. I have ironed it to my flannel design wall to quickly clean off all the stray threads because I can rip an 18” square and iron w/ the 360 cordless and re use the FP square over and over to clean the entire 8 feet x 8 feet wall in minutes. I do it twice a year as it gets full of thread particles.
Could you maybe enlarge the design so that it would be easier to quilt and also see the pumpkins better? Just a thought, but cute pattern. I think I've seen a similar one for long arm quilting using a pantograph. ❤
This pattern is so stinking cute!!! I'm glad you said that about sewing on the lines! Just like they said in the Pirates of the Caribbean movie......" They're really more like guidelines than actual rules! " Hahaha.... Like you said....If you go off the lines it doesn't ruin the quilt....🤣😂👍
Thank you for another great tutorial! I tried FMQ for the first time last weekend and it did not go well, but I'm optimistic that if I keep practicing I will improve. I clicked on the MUNBYN link and bought the pink one on Amazon so I hope you get the commission. I love all things pumpkin and I will print out the FMQ pattern and practice when the printer arrives next week. Also wanted to mention that your dad is awesome and thanks to him for the water spritzing suggestion. Have a great weekend!
Did you put the paper on the back and switch the pumpkins from the back so that that paper wouldn’t be so offensive while taking it off with bits and pieces stuck in the threads? I know you’re going to wash it but even that they leave some don’t papers in there. I also noticed you did not do edge ditching all the way around or maybe you were going to do that just before you squared it up? Love your videos you always come up with great ideas. We need young, innovative, Quilter’s like you.
Love this, Miriam! I made a runner (besides my two pillows!!) for my friend - her birthday is next week! I'm going to try the pumpkin free motion! Thank you!!!
Thank you your tutorial is the best I’ve seen and I can’t wait to try your techniques. Great video showing every step slow enough for me to see each step.
Thank you Miriam. I ordered the printer and I totally want to try this fmq pattern. I have not been successful at fmq yet I want to try it using your templates. I want to start with the basic ones and once I'm comfortable I'm going to give this one a try.
Cool. I ordered a thermal printer using your link. I totally forgot to put the discount code in. Honestly had never had one to do and didn’t know where it went! They had a $10 off promotion too. Do I cancelled that order and put in another order with the discount code. Got an additional $8.50 off!! Total discount was $18.50. Very nice!
One more comment or question ...... and excuse me if this is a really dumb question...... but could you put the design paper on the back of the quilt and quilt it?
There is another TH-cam channel that talked about Missouri star ending their affiliation with TH-cam channels. I guess they can’t afford to pay the commission anymore because Jennie has decided to stay in Africa for two years too bad she couldn’t help the people in America.
@@StitchObsessed yes I think that’s a very bad business decision and this is what happens when the owner is thousands of miles away in another country. And it was quite rude from the comments I get from other TH-cam channels of how abruptly they did this.
@@StitchObsessed well it’s definitely not your fault. I just don’t understand how she would allow this to happen to be so abrupt. I don’t even know if they have any communication with her in Africa. It just doesn’t seem like her typical MO to treat people like that. Why would they say something like officially starting January 2025?

Great tip! Thank you! 💖
I used slanted point tweezers to assist me in the removal of the paper and it worked great.
Awesome! 👏🏻

Hello from Alaska where we are getting our first snow
Oh wow, snow already?!
@@StitchObsessedyes raised my kids here many of Halloween activities were with snow.

An iron would make the paper go black since it’s thermal paper, but I could definitely run it over the edge of my table! Thank you for the tip! 💖
Thank you so much. I always learn something. The pattern also looks like Christmas ornaments too 😍
It does! That would be super cute too!
You make it look so easy. I love this! Thank you.

OMG this FM is adorable! The paper removal is a total test of patience. A lint roller will grab little scant pieces left behind.
Yeah I tried a lint roller and it didn’t work great. Maybe it wasn’t sticky enough 🥴 lol

I wonder if a soft fingernail brush would help to remove the wet paper???🤔

I went to the link. It didn't give me the pattern for the motif insie the pumpkin pattern. If that makes sense. I gave me a Different pattern.
