    After struggling for some years now, I looked for your video, watched it carefully and tried this method two days ago and wow! It worked a miracle, my hair seems … heavy and thick and dense and so hard to manage but this really helped me sleep better and get excellent 2nd and 3d day curles! I have to thank you for all your videos, you curly ladies made me fall in love with my curls as I grow 52 😊

    I tried this last night and I’ve got to say this technique gave me *such* nice volume. My curls are a bit looser and frizzier than yours (Arab dry frizzy hair runs in the family), but I have gorgeous ringlets in the shorter parts of my hair and I’m trying to encourage the ringlets everywhere at the moment and it’s so nice not to be cut short after a bad hair night where the ringlets are destroyed. Thank you Sophie! Would love to see more videos ❤

    Wow you have come a long way from when your hair was chemical and heat damaged till now and have learned and/or created so many great techniques in such a short time. The first great tip I learned from you was to separate the brushed curl clump with the wide tooth comb. My hair clumps together and defines well but then it gets flat from the curls all clumping up together again, so using big curl clumps doesn't work for me. Separating them is a useful step with other ones I use to keep the hair separated even after being refreshed. At night I usually do the high ponytail method with a loose ponytail, but I found that the satin scrunchies were too loose and I hade to double them which created too tight of a ponytail. I switched to the coiled ponytail holders because the grip well without having to be doubled, but they flatten the back hair at the nape. I'm goin to try this bend and clip method with my loose satin scrunchies and I feel very hopeful so thanks 🙂

    Thank you 😊 I love seeing different ways to sleep with curls and waves. I rotate between a bonnet, scarf, buff and the ‘pineapple’ methods depending on how I feel and what the weather is doing. I do find having anything on my head annoying but find the bonnet or scarf do help keep frizz down and I don’t have to refresh so much. I have a looser curl than you so I do find my roots underneath and at the sides of my head get stretched out no matter what. I will give this a go though because it seems a more sleep friendly option to the ‘pineapple’.

      Thank you ❤️ yes totally agree! If I didn’t Mind having something on my head I would definitely wear a silk scarf or bonnet as that is probably the best way to reduce frizz

    First, you are absolutely GORGEOUS! You were blessed with beautiful eyes and lustrous, thick hair. Second, I can't wait to try this bedtime curly girl method, because I have gone through bonnets, wraps, scarves, and no matter whether I anchor them with clips or bobby pins, they ALL end up half or completely off my head by the a.m.! I suppose I'm a fitful sleeper? Anyway, sooo glad I came across your channel. You have a new fan in Atlanta, Georgia!

    Thank you for this how-to! I tried it but had to use a much smaller scrunchy due to my hair being longer than yours and also thinner than yours. It worked pretty well, except my ringlets got really tangly so I did something wrong between styling and clipping in

    I have one question: How do you detangle your hair? I brush it twice a day because I am afraid it will get detangled. And obviously, this ruins the effect of the styling.

    Thank you for your videos, nice to watch a fellow Britt. Not knocking the Americans, but at least I know I can get hold of items suggested.
    My question is... What to do when your hair isn't quite long enough. I have shoulder length hair and can get my hair up, but with the scrunchie loose, I have stands falling out at the back. I use a normal size scrunchie. I toss and turn a lot in bed, both bonnet and head scarfs come off. Do have a silk pillow. Any suggestions welcome. Many thanks

    • @sophiemariecurly
      @sophiemariecurly  ปีที่แล้ว

      Aww thank you! I totally understand, I felt the same about the struggle to get hold of certain products when I started out but there are so many amazing UK drugstore products 😍😍 my advice to your Q would be to tie the back section in a loose bun rather than a pony tail and do the same clipping motion with the front pieces and just kind of wrap them around or through the bun if they’re a lot longer

    • @sophiemariecurly
      @sophiemariecurly  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh wait sorry I read the question wrong haha: for too short I suggest doing half up half down. Put the up section in a pony like I did and You could pin the back section up and twist those strands pinning with hair grips

    • @missfannyann2009
      @missfannyann2009 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your quick reply. I did think about using clips, but didn't know if they'd flatten the curl. But then I probably do that when in asleep anyways. Will give clips a try. Thank you

    That was actually a nice hairstyle! I can't sleep in a scrunchie as mine is too fine and it leaves a kink in it. I think that big scrunchie would do the same but only doing the back section as you have suggested is a very good idea. I just sleep with my hair raised up on the silk pillow. I'm usually quite still on my back at night so it isn't a problem.

    • @sophiemariecurly
      @sophiemariecurly  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! I have definitely rocked my overnight bun in the daytime too, and just left it in until the next evening on some occasions haha! yes I agree it definitely depends on how you sleep as well, I toss and turn a lot at night so no wonder things don't stay on my head x

    I'm not sure how well this would work for my very low density, fine 2b/2c waves but I'm willing to try anything at this point. Everything I've tried either falls out (wild sleeper) or it's just completely flat come morning. Might just be my hair but doesn't hurt to try it a couple times to see!
