Ravina's best piece, in my opinion--pleased that you've finally covered it. Captures the joys of childhood in equal measure to the tragedy of that childhood being extinguished. Played excellently, by the way, and a real treat to have a life performance as well.
Wow I didn't know that Ravina lost his son. He was born in 1818 and lost his son in 1870, so at 52 y old, his son was probably in his 20s given that people had children early in those times. Must have been quite painful, we definitely feel it in the music
