Holistic medicine cannot replace vaccinations and other forms of conventional medicine but it may offer altenative therapy options to pets who aren't responding to traditional treatment or cannot tolerate some drugs
Ignoring evidence-based options can be very dangerous to pet owners and their pets if a pet owner chooses to completely avoid conventional medicine. For example, vaccinations are proven to be an effective means of disease prevention and should not be ignored despite the fact that many strictly holistic veterinarians may not offer them. This is particularly true in the case of rabies vaccines since rabies may be passed from pets to humans and is considered fatal to both. Completely avoiding the use of proven medications and surgeries to treat illness can be very harmful to a pet.

Please help! I told my vet i thought my dog had fleas. He was on simpleguard . I saw a reaction with bravecto. Im a raw feeder but i live in ct. I want my pet to be on natural products. Unfortunately my vet insisted my german shepherd had allergies not fleas . I couldnt watch him suffer and i gave in and let her do cytopoint shot. Well the fleas were the issue as tore out the carpet i got attacked! Now im sure of it and i cant get rid of them. What Can i do ? I hope cytopont didnt cause any problems as i never believed it was allergies. I bathed with natural products. I have also vacumned every few days , waShed and dried everything high heat including bedding but im exhasted and still he has fleas! I have lyme disease and have been dealing with it for 14 yrs. In ct. Ticks are everywhere. I need a new vet . There arent very many holistic vets close to me. How do i deal with first getting rid of fleas and second can cytopoint hurt my dog from that one shot? I forgot to mention i used diamateous earth and bought a steam cleaner. Please 😢 im putting my immune system in flareup mode . Thanks ellen

So we all have to make the decision that lives in Connecticut or in a high tick
area because tick borne disease can also kill our dogs so we do have to put chemical on them. It’s a chance but we’re doing nothing. It’s the worst chance if anyone has any help, please post and thank you very much.

Keep him home far from other dogs and potentially contaminating places. It seems that there is a new virus or something in the US and many doggies had died. By the way, many people is not “ injecting” their pets with vaxs because too many had suffer from serious reactions and had got very sick or had died. I imagine that not all but it seems that a too big amount. Stay well!

my own vet told me she does not revaccinate her dogs, and only gives the repeat rabies shots because it would be illegal not to. And she is a traditional vet, not a holistic one. She won't push for non-core vaccines. I love her. I waited till my puppy was 24 weeks to make sure I only had to get his Distemper and Parvo shots once, and she used the Boehringer Ingleheim Recombitek vaccines because they were the the only ones available with no adjuvants. I looked all over to find a vet service who uses them. Rabies at 8 months with the Merial IMRAB TF thimerosal-free vaccine, and I am hoping to preserve his health.

My vet is also mostly traditional, but open to natural remedies, and appreciated it when I lent her my copies of Juliette di Bairicli-Levy's books "The Complete Herbal for Farm Animals" and "The Complete Herbal for Dogs and Cats."
My previous vet seriously bucked me, when our Truffle kitty showed up as an emaciated and dehydrated maybe six week old kitten at a neighbor's house, and I didn't want to give her antibiotics, since I was already giving her milk kefir to build up her immunity.
But even he allowed that, if indeed I was giving her homemade milk kefir, that he'd adopt a wait and see approach.
She thrived, is now nearly four years old, and has never needed antibiotics, or anything other than wellness checks.
The only vaccines I give my animals are thimerosol-free three-year rabies shots.

Realistically, MOST vaccines don't need to be given annually - if you get a titer test, and your pet still has good antibodies, the vaccine is not needed.
Unfortunately, most titer test aren't cheap, some are hard to find, and not all who require vaccines accept the results of titer tests - despite them being entirely scientifically valid.

Do not ever use Seresto collars. My Maltese developed neurological issues - basically necrosis and led to his death. He didn’t have to die. He wouldn’t have if it weren’t for Seresto. Vet denied that the root cause was Seresto but I am adamant that it was. Vets need better and up to date training based on current studies not 20 years ago. I have a 5 month old tiny Bichon and she had the core vaccines and our vet adjusts the dosage due to her size - as it should be. I won’t inject her with anything else. Now, I just need to find a natural preventative for fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes.

      Unfortunately,
Traditionally veterinary medicine is a business as in allopathic Western medicine for people. They are not going to change their ways for promoting pharmaceutical and toxic products. They are trained in vet school on medications and products and disease care models. It's a racket and they prey on fear and guilt shaming pet parents to do XY and z in the name of the almighty dollar.
I encourage pet parents to educate themselves on natural pet care and do best to find a holistic vet if possible.

I ordered them from Baltic Essentials. They've been on them for 3 months now and nothing. I thought they wouldn't last a week . Very strong and knots in between each bead .. leather closure .. I looked it up and they say that the vibration from the Amber on the fur makes an uncomfortable living environment for fleas and ticks. $25 and it's supposed to last a year. Great!

He is sweet, calm and does not "mark" his territory any more than my neutered dog he is also ideal weight where my neutered dog is obese. It sickens me. I watch the channel The Asher House. That is yeast. I'd give him good probiotics. Keep him very dry. Look into dog yeast & how to control naturally. Just changing this overgrowth in his system. Antibiotics would only make it worse. I've seen steroids fix the problem, but they can't stay on them because it will ruin their immune system & let disease take over, like cancer. Carbs and sugar, that makes kibble hard, feed the yeasts. Don't use oatmeal shampoo because it keeps the skin moist. You don't want this because yeasts grow in moist dark places, like the ears, in paws & skin. It's so itchy and miserable.

Two of them have severe ear infection (fungal, I believe) but after cleaning their ears with VCO regularly, the infection cleared up but it was tedious because for the first few months, I needed to clean their ears almost daily and even put some drops into the ear and rub the base of their ears so the oil can reach the rest. They don't like it but the improvement was worth it. Now, I just clean their ears monthly using VCO and still putting some drops in after cleaning their ears.

If you got it from a rescue or shelter, then it is a rescue dog. Yes, you adopted it. You adopted a rescue dog. You may have paid an adoption fee but in doing that you paid for a tiny portion of all the expenses that went into that animal at the rescue. You did not purchase the dog, you just helped a little towards the huge expense that every animal is in rescue. Other people paid for tge rest of that dog's expenses out of the goodness of their hearts with no reward whatsoever. You got the reward of the dog. That dog could be worth $500 in expenses, $1000 in expenses, or $5000 in expenses and you got the dog for whatever the smaller fee was which rarely ever covers the rescues expenses for thst animal. Tgey do shots, grooming, feed, supplements, vet bills like spaying and neutering surgeries, and other surgeries, depending upon why the animal was turned into the rescue. So you did NOT purchase the dog. You just helped pay a percentage of its expenses during the time it was at the rescue.

    • @HumanimalChannel
      @HumanimalChannel 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

Yes, because what they do not talk about, is that fleas as soon as they bite your dog (or cat etc) BREED immediately, and lay eggs. Very soon you can have 250,000 . The larvae lay in the environment for months, a year and they HATCH out and land on the animal and the cycle just keeps repeating. So you will just keep seeing fleas consistently Unless you kill them in the environment as well. And if the dog isnt treated then it can just keep happening.
When you give monthly treatments, not capstar knockdown but simparica trio or nexgard spectra etc... then if a flea does bite.. it dies. It doesnt breed. You simply dont get the infestations!
Its a lovely kind thought to use something natural to wash your dog for fleas but, it doesnt interrupt the lifestyle of the flea and make a flea free environment.
I do keep up with flea tick and worm treatment but, not with vaccines after the initial ones.

  • @NickFrom1228

Natural is better, usually, but sometimes it is ineffective. For instance, fleas. I've tried every natural method to the extreme and I have to say, fleas are hard to control. But I have found a middle ground. If you do NOT have cats then you can handle fleas easily with permethrin (the synthetic form of a chemical found in a kind of daisy or geranium, I don't recall what flower.). However do not use on the animal, use it on the bedding, and key places that the fleas are likely to come in contact. Never let them come in contact with it when wet. It must be completely dry before the pets can come into contact. If humans are being attacked by fleas you can do some targeted things that make a huge difference. Spray flooring, especially carpet with permethrin and a growth hormone. I also get the permethrin for clothing (used by hikers for mosquitos and ticks etc) and spray around the sides of mattresses, not the top where you sleep. Use your clothes dryer on high heat for 10 minutes or so to kill fleas on sheets/clothes whatever.
If you have cats, do not use permethrin since it is toxic to cats in a very bad way.

capstar is an oral pill, and if you have a bad flea infestation you might have to give a second round of Capstar to eradicate the new fleas that hatched from the eggs. Capstar kills the adult fleas only, doesn’t destroy the eggs. Once you have no more fleas hatching you can use the topical products from Wondercide and while you are using the capstar, start treating your yard with the Wondercide yard treatment spray. Important fact: spray at dusk so the product will have all night to soak into your grasses and dirt, spray the tree trunks good too! Don’t use that spray during the day time because the sun will evaporate a good portion of it. Good luck!🐾

I never use poisons on any of my animals because I was poisoned by pesticides. I also do not use vaccines and just keep them all confined so they are not exposed.
I've had both my cats and dogs on part homemade natural no-grain diets for over 20 years. I feed them a combination of cooked and raw food with 10% very healthy non-grain kibble. Some of their food has garlic, but not all due to some being sensitive to garlic. (I will say that garlic cured my chickens of lice when they got them at a friend's) Along with being free of allergies and many types of problems due to these diets, I have NEVER had a problem with fleas or ticks since prior to 1991 when I did everything all conventional. Even though we live in a northern climate, we sometimes go south & they have never picked up anything more than no-seeums on occassion & only temporarily. I've found in my experience at least, that a healthy animal does not usually harbor or become overcome with pests.
Try building up your pup's health by a better diet and see if things gradually or quickly improve without poisons. It's worth it, they are healthier and happier.

At his next vet visit they wanted to vaccinate against distemper and I questioned it and they agreed it wasn't a good idea. My little guy lived almost seventeen years and was the joy of our lives. I am so hesitant thinking of how I am going to negotiate through all these vaccines if I get another cat or dog. I would be interested in finding out what you think about feline inflammatory disease that 3 out of my 5 cats suffered from. Thank you.

    Only 1 rabies shot.
    No vaccines.
    No dog commercial foods.
    No neutering.
    Only meat with kitchenscrabs.
    They died of age, accidents.
    No one had health issues.
I wonder how on earth we survived, together with animals without vaccination...
We should be extinct long time ago without all meds, vaccinations, antibiotics.
Maybe we died if we where not strong enough to fight infections.
How did wolves, lions, elephants, hyenas, snakes, wales, etc...in the wild survived without vaccinations?
    Something does not add up.
Why are we as humans so sick the last decades, fighting with auto- imune disorders, cancers, heart disease, renal failure, bowl problems and so on an on, together with the same now in dogs, cats...?

So if you do what Dr. Robert's suggested to check the incidence of leptospirosis, it's in the United States and there is a high rate amongst the United States. Please as they say consult with your veterinarian about what's best for your pet. If they are a good veterinarian and want what's best for your pet they will have a discussion with you so you both understand.

Hi, I have a question I went in and took my dog for his annual wellness exam and heartworm test. He’s up-to-date with rabies, but I do not do any other shots but rabies. Anyway, they gave him his exam and they did not mention his teeth being bad we are about wrapping it up getting ready to leave and I asked the vet. Why does he have bad breath and she told me that he has an infection That’s why the bad breath is. He’s a small Yorky shouldn’t she have mentioned this to me after the exam, and before I could get any dental work done, they said he would have to Bordetella vac and DHPP should I go to another vet for a second opinion about my dogs teeth I feel like this is something they should’ve mentioned to me after the exam and not when I was about to leave and I asked the question why does he have bad breath this is something they should’ve caught before it got out of hand if he has anything going wrong with his teeth I’m using text to speech I don’t read or right very well and I hope this is readable

I have 3 dogs in Texas and mosquitoes are bad most of the year. I have mine on Heartgard plus. It’s the best of the Heartworm preventatives because it supposedly stays in their system for only a couple of days and they could eat the whole box and maybe have some GI upset. Flea and tick prevention you can go more natural but I’ve been told by multiple holistic vets including Dr Judy that, if you live in hotspot areas, then Heartgard or interceptor (if you can’t use Heartgard because you have a shepherd breed or dogs with white footed gene) are the best options for safer, conventional Heartworm prevention.

Rachel has had another video with Dr. Judy. Her protocol is to do routine annual/semi-annual heartworm testing, none 😮 (yes, none!) of the monthly preventatives like Heartgard or Interceptor and the rest. She uses mosquito deterrents. Now take that advice and please do more research. If your dog(s) may have greater risk, maybe do the conventional recommendation of a monthly preventative and an annual or semi-annual heartworm test. Some areas are higher risk than others. Don't think because Dr. Judy skips the monthly preventative that you automatically should too. She is a vet! If her dogs come down with heartworms, she can treat at her cost. You will be paying whatever your vet charges clients. Heartworms are nothing to take lightly. Treatment is possible but not always successful. Heartworms are misery and highly fatal. Maybe Dr. Judy lives somewhere with lower risk. If unsure, do the monthly preventative and an annual hw test.
In some areas like the US South heartworm prevelance in dogs is crazy! Many dogs get heartworms. Typically sadly these dogs that get hw's are outdoors and often neglected. Your dog may be well groomed and mostly indoors. But all it takes to get heartworms is mosquito exposure. Be careful. ❤

I gave him one bowl of Science Diet and he threw up and had diarrhea after one meal. I researched cysteine stones and the recommendation of neutering him kept coming up. If you feed him some Brewer's/nutritional yeast, it exudes something through the skin that deters biting insects, and helps a lot with heavy infestations.
I used to give it to my Newfoundland, and she had a serious flea allergy, and the only side effect is increased energy and a healthier coat, as it is full of B vitamins.

@@93denisechavez the best thing you can do is to keep your dog as healthy as possible and feed him/her a species appropriate diet. Fleas and parasites are not as attracted to healthy animals. Also conventional flea and tick treatments are not always effective and don’t actually kill the adult fleas. Several of them like Sentinel don’t even stop fleas from landing on your pet or biting or attaching to your pet. They kill the future larvae. There are natural sprays, shampoos, powders, etc that are pretty effective at repelling fleas so they don’t bother your pet or your yard.
