The small detail that Nanahoshi invented their school uniforms, blackboards, and made changes to their school food menu - which Rudy commented on a prior episode saying that it reminded him of Japan and many reactors even said what he was eating looked like karage - is mind blowing to me. Now that I think about it, their uniforms look so modern and the skirt looks very much like the high school skirt in Japan.
I borderline hate Nanahoshi. She straight up takes the world and its people less serious than verifiably awful baby/kid Rudeus who treated it like a game for years and years. "I know I'm gonna get attacked, but I'm still gonna say this really serious thing in the worst way possible to the point where I need to be protected" Edit: Not in a "what shit character writing way", I do appreciate the writing, more in a "holy shit she's a straight up awful person, even by this worlds standards"

She was forced there against her will, and she cant even really interact with it like a normal person of that world because she has no mana, she also distanced herself from people because of that too. She probably has a lot of resentment towards it and it's people even if they don't deserve it and it might as well just be a bad dream to her. Also her phrasing it badly could be her lack of mastery of a foreign language, and she figured no matter how she phrased it there might still be some backlash to what she said. I haven't read the light novel so I don't know if she's actually awful, but she doesn't seem that bad to me from what i've seen

Don't get me wrong, I understand well enough her character motivations and the potential psychology behind it, I'm still of the opinion that she is acting like a massive asshole though. Just like how I think Rudeus was often acting like a massive asshole early on, but still could tell where it was coming from and how he got there mentally. I haven't read all of the LN, only up to vol 15-16-17 ish? Iirc I think she does develop a bit, and I don't wanna say more than that apart from I still didn't particularly like her at the point where I stopped.

from season 1 episode 1 we know that one of the highschoolers was safe while 2 were missing (said in the news broadcast while rudeus's past self is being taken to hospital). So there might be another isekaid person other than Rudeus and Nanahoshi
As I understand, she is the one who didn't get hit so there are two more more isekaied ppl (the two she are looking for). It seems she was meant to get hit but Rudos saved her so it took her longer to get isekaied.

With him comes a lot, lot of time stuff because without him, nanahoshi and rudeus's soul wouldnt be summoned to the world in the past Future changes the past which then changes the future, something like that

yeah thats right, in the scene was 4 person in total, 3 students and rudueus. two of the studends went missing, nanahoshi and one more, the other was ok and dont dissapear, just rudeus died and got reeincarnated, the other two were summoned. The thing is none of them got summoned / reincarnated at the same time. The first one the other guy missing was summoned 300 years into the future and because the things got messy, someone summoned a second one to help to change the fate, nanahoshi was summoned 300 years into the past incluiding rudueos.

Thats what I love about Mushoku Tensei. Everything and everyone is important to the plot in a huge way and the writing in how it interweaves is just insanely well done.
It is interesting that Rudy mentioned time travel. In s1 Orsted seems to know about past and future events and I think he mentioned something about iterations or timelines. Also, Rudy experience like 15 years already in his new life But Nanahoshi was summoned 5 years ago, so there's a gap between events despite (Rudy's death om earth and the summoning)!. Edit: Nanahoshi and their classmates were saved from truck-kun so maybe they were the OG generic Isekai MCs that someone tried to summon but Rudy got in the way lol
short answer.. yes - rudy just got tagged along. That's the general conclusion of them. But I think they were meant to be summoned all 3 of them, including rudy who just got deaded - and I meant he needs to reincarnate not to be teleported. Alot of things that happened here are too much of a coincidence to not be predetermined by fate itself.

Also, the mana disaster happening 5 years ago coinciding w/ Nanahoshi's summoning, wasn't completely clear to me. I was confused about how Rudy aged "...something teen" years while she was only there for 5 years. Makes sense now though. I assumed Man-God summoned all of them, b/c he must've summoned Rudy the same way, except that he was reincarnated, so it didn't cause a mana disaster. I guess you can't summon people, b/c it has some equivalency consequences. Teleporting 3 people as they are from Japan in another world, caused other people in the world to also teleport. What's strange to me, is that they were the ones that Rudy helped right as he died, almost as if some omniscient being knows what happened, and thought it was only fair that they get summoned too. It was written that way intentionally, of course. The godlike being is the writer.
There's a Human Tongue, Demon Tongue, Beast Tongue, Sky Tongue, Ocean Tongue, Fighting God Tongue, Dragon Tongue. But when they talk in Japanese normally they using Human Tongue but when they really talking with the real Japanese, they using Human Tongue like the language that Zenith and Paul use in S1 episode 1
Now that you fully understand what they were doing with the languages, I would recommend rewatching that whole sequence just to enjoy how well done it is. Plus the music is really good in that section as well.

Nanahoshi got teleported to this world 10yrs after Rudeus was born…when you think about it, you can see that there is a time gap plot hole here but once they explain it later on, it’ll make sense somewhat…cause it blew my mind too…
To run it down and not spoil it rudeus has been here in this world for 15 years therefore he is 15 years old and has been about a 1 year since he joined the magic uni. Nanahosi said she’s been here 5 years meaning when he was 10 she was summoned. You know what happened a day after rudeus turned ten? The teleportation incident!!
The thought never even occurred to me when Nanahoshi mentioned dead bodies containing mana. You actually have a good theory there with Laplace having the largest mana capacity in the world. A chekhov's gun if I've ever seen one. Massive props. Also to remembering the Dragon King exists which for some reason people just forget cause he's only mentioned in stories and appeared in the series for like maybe a grand total of 30-ish seconds so far.

After Rudy passed out, they made a very subtle switch on the language. To our ear as English speakers, we can't necessarily tell the difference, but the Japanese conversation is actually Japanese and the human god language is distinctly different phonetically. In general for the show, it is translated to Japanese as it's the "normal" language. To make the distinction for this scene, however, they made the human god language sound different and provide a textual translation. Later: yep you just about got it. Again subtle switch.
Yeah it took me until they finally switched back over that I pieced that together. I'm just not used to Human God being the language with subs, its usually Demon God or Beast God or whatever else.

Laplace is basically Madara Uchiha for this series. Some ancient defeated ancient evil from generations before the relevant characters who gets mentioned just often enough that you feel like "yeah, this guy's definitely popping up again at some point".
It was never said anywhere that Laplace was killed just that he was sealed away or defeated. It is the dragon king Perugius job to make sure he stays sealed which is why he was so quick to send his servant to the place with Rudy, Ghislaine, and Eris to get rid of whatever was causing the disturbance because he thought someone was trying to unseal Laplace.
When Rudeus was born. In Fittoa the summoning spell that summoned Nanahoshi (that ball like a planet with rings) started and for 10 years mana was gathering, and in the 10th birthday of Rudeus was the teleportation event (ep 8th I think)
If you re-watch ep 1, Rudy died on the hospital but the 2 students got dissappeared. So two students didn't got hit by truck but got wrapped to the world.

Welcome to the Real Deep story of MT this is only 0.5% of the type of peak we will be getting onwards! Every slight detail matters in this story and the way your putting stuff together will make every single moment throughout the story even more better. Also Nanahoshi is the only character with natrual black hair in the story.
Bear in mind that Nanahoshi learned the Human God language as a teen only a few years ago, in fairly stressful circumstances, from a guy who doesn't seem to talk a lot. She's also well known for not talking all that much herself. It's reasonably likely that she phrased it like that because she didn't actually know a better way to say it. Though it's probably more likely it was a deliberate test of some kind.
Some things from the start of the series: After the traffic accident, they showed the police interviewing one of the guys who was shoved out of the way but voice over says that the other two students had just "disappeared", but there is no way for her to know that.
This show just like to serve up big buckets of surprise plot... like "here's a character growth episode,then a funny one...and...BAM! Here's a big bucket of stuff to unpack and process all at once" Terrible...I love it 🤘

Just clarifying something so you’re not super confused down the road: Nanahoshi was teleported to this world, and Redeus was reincarnated. The other two people on the list have also been teleported. I’m not a light novel reader, but I’m 95% sure that nanahoshi and the others aren’t injured/in a coma. They were literally physically pulled from their old world and dumped into this one. So in Japan, Nanahoshi isn’t in a coma, she’s just not there
Sylphie was like "This girl is super dangerous they actually have a secret language to speak together", hopefully Silphie will actually do something to show Rudy her identity soon.

I don't think he has no regrets, rather, he has nothing but regrets, in that there is nothing there that's worth going back for, and every reason to start over. I think saying he has 'no regrets' gives the wrong impression. The better wording would be something like "I have nothing that still needs doing".

The surname "Nanahoshi" literally means "Sever Stars", also Nanahoshi's name "Shizuka" can mean "Silent". This is likely how the name "Silent Sevenstar" came from. A direct translation from her Japanese name.

As an anime only, my theory on the connection between Nanahoshi and the Mana disaster is this: All the Mana she SHOULD have gotten when coming into this new world, went towards the Mana Disaster instead. It’s like someone or something separated it from her body when she was teleported in. Maybe she was supposed to be reincarnated like Rudy in someway, but someone disturbed that and changed it to what happened? Maybe she didn’t have mana because she was teleported and not reincarnated and this whole theory is wrong lmao, but there still has to be a connection, somehow…
No, the reason of the mana disaster was because someone into the future 300 year aprox, summoned nanahoshi and because the mana of the summoner was involved, he/she exausted all of his mana and his life in the process and explode in that moment, the summon per se isnt a problem for the summoner, but the fact that she need to summon a second one in to the past was the problem and exploded the fuckiing fittoa region because of that.
Language gaps was always a thing after Tolkien, and not everyone wants to discuss languages in fantasy stories like Tolkien did. So they specifically change the normal speaking language in this section of the anime.
This isn't a spoiler, but if you go back to season 1, episode 1, the police say that one adult in his 30s was hit by the truck (Rudeus) after pulling one high school boy out of the way. We see this kid looking shocked in the back of an ambulance. And the police say that two high school students are missing, and they are searching for them. Make whatever conclusions you want; I'm just reminding you of what the anime showed us.

You caught so much! But one thing is really whoever did the subtitle's fault. The original line should translate to "I might have been the cause for it." Instead, the subtitle says "I might have caused it." I mean, she did say it accurately, but I can at the same time understand why Fitz wouldn't get the difference, (I guess the subtitle didn't get the difference either), but Rudy, who had a whole conversation of context, understood her perfectly. So that's why Rudy was more in shock of Fitz's sudden outburst, not the revelation itself. Nanahoshi is fiercely intelligent and very calculative, she has a healthy dose of skepticism towards anyone in this world. Even if Fitz understood her perfectly, she still might attack her. So that's why she put on the rings just in case. But notice how her guard dropped completely against Rudy once she realized he is also Japanese. She even took off her mask. It is not so clear in anime, because everybody is anime-style, but imagine IRL, she is the only ASIAN face ever in this series. Everyone else is caucassian, that's why she hid behind the mask. And she took it off to prove to Rudy that she is indeed Japanese. The writer did so well, combining this level of intelligence and care (whether she was that way before, or the sudden teleportation made her this way) with the desires and mentality of a high schooler. On the other hand, Rudy is clueless in this episode. Well, he has a lot on his plate in this episode. But 2 clear signs that gave away Sylphie's real identity are both missed by Rudy. 1. "Fitz" questioned how Rudy and Nanahoshi could be from the same hometown, how would Fitz know? It must mean Fitz knows about Rudy from a young age, at least knowing where he is from. 2. Fitz's outburst seems unwarranted, as far as Rudy knows, Fitz is bodyguard the Princess Ariel, not someone from Fitoa, aka the victim of the teleportation incident. So if he is not so shocked by Nanahoshi's scenario, he probably could connect the dots and realize that this "Fitz" must be from Fitoa, and must know Rudy from very young. Plus the elf ears, he should figure it out. Also, Rudy recognized Nanahoshi from the same accident but withheld the info that he was the fat guy who pushed them away and died for it. He was intentionally vague about how he came, careful not to reveal that. On the other hand, I think we can safely assume that the two Japanese names Nanahoshi asked Rudy was about the other two students. I wonder, if Nanahoshi was teleported 10 years after Rudy's reincarnation, wouldn't that mean the other two might also be teleported in maybe in another 10 years? Is that going to cause another teleportation incident?

She was forced there against her will, and she cant even really interact with it like a normal person of that world because she has no mana, she also distanced herself from people because of that too. She probably has a lot of resentment towards it and it's people even if they don't deserve it and it might as well just be a bad dream to her. Also her phrasing it badly could be her lack of mastery of a foreign language, and she figured no matter how she phrased it there might still be some backlash to what she said. I haven't read the light novel so I don't know if she's actually awful, but she doesn't seem that bad to me from what i've seen

Don't get me wrong, I understand well enough her character motivations and the potential psychology behind it, I'm still of the opinion that she is acting like a massive asshole though. Just like how I think Rudeus was often acting like a massive asshole early on, but still could tell where it was coming from and how he got there mentally.
I haven't read all of the LN, only up to vol 15-16-17 ish? Iirc I think she does develop a bit, and I don't wanna say more than that apart from I still didn't particularly like her at the point where I stopped.

from season 1 episode 1 we know that one of the highschoolers was safe while 2 were missing (said in the news broadcast while rudeus's past self is being taken to hospital). So there might be another isekaid person other than Rudeus and Nanahoshi
As I understand, she is the one who didn't get hit so there are two more more isekaied ppl (the two she are looking for). It seems she was meant to get hit but Rudos saved her so it took her longer to get isekaied.

yeah thats right, in the scene was 4 person in total, 3 students and rudueus. two of the studends went missing, nanahoshi and one more, the other was ok and dont dissapear, just rudeus died and got reeincarnated, the other two were summoned. The thing is none of them got summoned / reincarnated at the same time. The first one the other guy missing was summoned 300 years into the future and because the things got messy, someone summoned a second one to help to change the fate, nanahoshi was summoned 300 years into the past incluiding rudueos.

It is interesting that Rudy mentioned time travel. In s1 Orsted seems to know about past and future events and I think he mentioned something about iterations or timelines. Also, Rudy experience like 15 years already in his new life But Nanahoshi was summoned 5 years ago, so there's a gap between events despite (Rudy's death om earth and the summoning)!.
Edit: Nanahoshi and their classmates were saved from truck-kun so maybe they were the OG generic Isekai MCs that someone tried to summon but Rudy got in the way lol
short answer.. yes - rudy just got tagged along. That's the general conclusion of them. But I think they were meant to be summoned all 3 of them, including rudy who just got deaded - and I meant he needs to reincarnate not to be teleported.

I assumed Man-God summoned all of them, b/c he must've summoned Rudy the same way, except that he was reincarnated, so it didn't cause a mana disaster. I guess you can't summon people, b/c it has some equivalency consequences. Teleporting 3 people as they are from Japan in another world, caused other people in the world to also teleport. What's strange to me, is that they were the ones that Rudy helped right as he died, almost as if some omniscient being knows what happened, and thought it was only fair that they get summoned too. It was written that way intentionally, of course. The godlike being is the writer.

There's a Human Tongue, Demon Tongue, Beast Tongue, Sky Tongue, Ocean Tongue, Fighting God Tongue, Dragon Tongue. But when they talk in Japanese normally they using Human Tongue but when they really talking with the real Japanese, they using Human Tongue like the language that Zenith and Paul use in S1 episode 1
Now that you fully understand what they were doing with the languages, I would recommend rewatching that whole sequence just to enjoy how well done it is. Plus the music is really good in that section as well.

The thought never even occurred to me when Nanahoshi mentioned dead bodies containing mana. You actually have a good theory there with Laplace having the largest mana capacity in the world. Also to remembering the Dragon King exists which for some reason people just forget cause he's only mentioned in stories and appeared in the series for like maybe a grand total of 30-ish seconds so far.

After Rudy passed out, they made a very subtle switch on the language. To our ear as English speakers, we can't necessarily tell the difference, but the Japanese conversation is actually Japanese and the human god language is distinctly different phonetically. In general for the show, it is translated to Japanese as it's the "normal" language. To make the distinction for this scene, however, they made the human god language sound different and provide a textual translation.

It was never said anywhere that Laplace was killed just that he was sealed away or defeated. It is the dragon king Perugius job to make sure he stays sealed which is why he was so quick to send his servant to the place with Rudy, Ghislaine, and Eris to get rid of whatever was causing the disturbance because he thought someone was trying to unseal Laplace.
When Rudeus was born. In Fittoa the summoning spell that summoned Nanahoshi (that ball like a planet with rings) started and for 10 years mana was gathering, and in the 10th birthday of Rudeus was the teleportation event (ep 8th I think)
If you re-watch ep 1, Rudy died on the hospital but the 2 students got dissappeared. So two students didn't got hit by truck but got wrapped to the world.

Every slight detail matters in this story and the way your putting stuff together will make every single moment throughout the story even more better. Also Nanahoshi is the only character with natrual black hair in the story.

Bear in mind that Nanahoshi learned the Human God language as a teen only a few years ago, in fairly stressful circumstances, from a guy who doesn't seem to talk a lot. She's also well known for not talking all that much herself. It's reasonably likely that she phrased it like that because she didn't actually know a better way to say it. Though it's probably more likely it was a deliberate test of some kind.
This episode was the 10/10 I hoped the whole season would be.
I think most of season 2 has been great, personally! My only gripe is episode 8, for feeling rushed and trying to cover too much content.

Just clarifying something so you’re not super confused down the road:
Nanahoshi was teleported to this world, and Redeus was reincarnated. The other two people on the list have also been teleported. I’m not a light novel reader, but I’m 95% sure that nanahoshi and the others aren’t injured/in a coma. They were literally physically pulled from their old world and dumped into this one. So in Japan, Nanahoshi isn’t in a coma, she’s just not there

I think saying he has 'no regrets' gives the wrong impression. The better wording would be something like "I have nothing that still needs doing".

The surname "Nanahoshi" literally means "Sever Stars", also Nanahoshi's name "Shizuka" can mean "Silent".
This is likely how the name "Silent Sevenstar" came from. A direct translation from her Japanese name.

As an anime only, my theory on the connection between Nanahoshi and the Mana disaster is this:
All the Mana she SHOULD have gotten when coming into this new world, went towards the Mana Disaster instead. It’s like someone or something separated it from her body when she was teleported in. Maybe she was supposed to be reincarnated like Rudy in someway, but someone disturbed that and changed it to what happened? Maybe she didn’t have mana because she was teleported and not reincarnated and this whole theory is wrong lmao, but there still has to be a connection, somehow…
No, the reason of the mana disaster was because someone into the future 300 year aprox, summoned nanahoshi and because the mana of the summoner was involved, he/she exausted all of his mana and his life in the process and explode in that moment, the summon per se isnt a problem for the summoner, but the fact that she need to summon a second one in to the past was the problem and exploded the fuckiing fittoa region because of that.

The reason this all happened is all fucking wild
This isn't a spoiler, but if you go back to season 1, episode 1, the police say that one adult in his 30s was hit by the truck (Rudeus) after pulling one high school boy out of the way. We see this kid looking shocked in the back of an ambulance. And the police say that two high school students are missing, and they are searching for them. Make whatever conclusions you want; I'm just reminding you of what the anime showed us.
If you got confused why the language is different after Rudeus collapsed, it's only to show their conversation in actual japanese.

I loved this episode and now it feels like Sylphy is gonna be pressed to reveal herself to Rudy. There’s nothing holding her back and she doesn’t want some other girl to come and take Rudy

But one thing is really whoever did the subtitle's fault.
The original line should translate to "I might have been the cause for it." Instead, the subtitle says "I might have caused it."
I mean, she did say it accurately, but I can at the same time understand why Fitz wouldn't get the difference, (I guess the subtitle didn't get the difference either), but Rudy, who had a whole conversation of context, understood her perfectly. So that's why Rudy was more in shock of Fitz's sudden outburst, not the revelation itself.
Nanahoshi is fiercely intelligent and very calculative, she has a healthy dose of skepticism towards anyone in this world. Even if Fitz understood her perfectly, she still might attack her. So that's why she put on the rings just in case. But notice how her guard dropped completely against Rudy once she realized he is also Japanese. She even took off her mask. It is not so clear in anime, because everybody is anime-style, but imagine IRL, she is the only ASIAN face ever in this series. Everyone else is caucassian, that's why she hid behind the mask. And she took it off to prove to Rudy that she is indeed Japanese. The writer did so well, combining this level of intelligence and care (whether she was that way before, or the sudden teleportation made her this way) with the desires and mentality of a high schooler.
On the other hand, Rudy is clueless in this episode. Well, he has a lot on his plate in this episode. But 2 clear signs that gave away Sylphie's real identity are both missed by Rudy. 1. "Fitz" questioned how Rudy and Nanahoshi could be from the same hometown, how would Fitz know? It must mean Fitz knows about Rudy from a young age, at least knowing where he is from. 2. Fitz's outburst seems unwarranted, as far as Rudy knows, Fitz is bodyguard the Princess Ariel, not someone from Fitoa, aka the victim of the teleportation incident. So if he is not so shocked by Nanahoshi's scenario, he probably could connect the dots and realize that this "Fitz" must be from Fitoa, and must know Rudy from very young. Plus the elf ears, he should figure it out.
Also, Rudy recognized Nanahoshi from the same accident but withheld the info that he was the fat guy who pushed them away and died for it. He was intentionally vague about how he came, careful not to reveal that. On the other hand, I think we can safely assume that the two Japanese names Nanahoshi asked Rudy was about the other two students.
