  • How to.
    Tear down and working on the center differential trying to find the noise I was hearing at the motocross track. I have since found out what it was coming from and it was not the center Diff.

    I tore up the center diff in 4 runs on this car the front drive cup broke off the diff housing they need to put heavier grease in the diff from the factory it likes to spin the front wheels faster chews up the diff i think I’m going to put 20 million weight fluid in it

    great video - thought stock center diff oil was 100k ? i use 300k in mine. Also watch for the rear main gear and pinion - make sure that is shimmed right or you will eat the gears - i went through 3 before getting it right. you can shim on the left by the bearing and also behind the bearing on the pinion gear if needed

    • @BarstoneRC
      @BarstoneRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s exactly what it turned out to be was the rear differential gear, I broke three teeth off of it I ordered a new gear and a shim pack to get it tightened up

      Yeah they are nice and easy to work on at least. I’ve been finding that out these were the first ones I had was the outcast and the Kraton 6s with this platform and they are surprisingly easy to work on.

    I have to reduce my ignorance here, on my k6 my stock front (exb) shock tower is leaning back slightly, Is it supposed to be at 90°? I am presuming yes but uncertain. high possibility of hard crashes. Great vid. Thanks!

    • @BarstoneRC
      @BarstoneRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They naturally have a very very slight leaning backwards but if it’s leaning back further than what you see mounted to the bulkhead then they’re probably bent however you’re not going to affect it or notice a difference in the suspension unless you see a noticeable bend.
