It probably sounds petty, but I don’t like asking people for their WiFi password. Though the main reason I went cellular is so that I don’t drain my phones battery by having to tether while on the go.
Before WFH and all the carrier hotspot bandwidth limits, I was solidly on WiFi only iPads. Now that almost all personal hotspots are capped and I am using my iPad more, I wish I had that cellular.
Celluar are much more versatile and have greater saleability and value retention. I live offgrid and travel through wild places. I had a wifi only version for a few months and it was scarey lol.
Dude, when it comes to cellular fees it depends on what country you live in. In Poland it’s free if you have a main plan for your phone, you can order a free eSIM and pay no extra monthly subscriptions.

(prepaid use it all up then buy again) or do I have to pay month by month? and if I do pay month by month do the unused Cellular Plan roll over to the next month? Do I pay all at once and use up the Cellular data with no expiration date or will I lose it if I don't use it all in one month? Do I have to pay monthly to keep my cellular minutes from expiring? I cant seem to find the answer to this but I will keep researching. Thanks.
I’m not familiar with any prepaid cellular data plan for iPad. Most are Post paid and are unlimited data so there is nothing to roll over anyways. Hope this helps!
T mobile has prepaid data only. I bought my air3 used and it came with cellular. I only use it when traveling and with the prepaid service I only buy x amount of data and then when home I use wifi.
Good question, you can actually use WiFi regardless of the cellular plan. For instance, I had a cellular iPad for a few years before I activated it. Hope this helps!

No you dont have to pay for a cellular plan. You choose to start a cell plan if u want. You can just use Wi-Fi where available and if you travel u can add cell plan. U now own it if you paid in full. It’s all yours to Wi-Fi or cell plan when you feel you need data. I have both Wi-Fi and cell abled ipad fully paid for and They asked do i want to get a cell plan I told them no!. Without fully paid up u then have to enroll in monthly cell plan till iPad is paid off. Hope this helps you a little.

I love my cellular iPad since we get ripped off for home internet here in Canada. I was able to get a 50gb share plan and cancel my home internet service. I was paying almost $100 Canadian a month for my bell home internet for 80gb usage. Now for the same $100 I have my cell phone service, cellular iPad and 4g in my tough book laptop all sharing the 50gb data and I’m not limited to staying home to use internet
For the cellular ipad, can you cancel your plan for the times you don't need the cellular capabilities and then start a new plan for the times you do? :) Or does it lock you into a contract when you set up the new plan?
Just don't get the cellular version, iPad cellular versions ARE THE WORST AS THEY WON'T CONNECT TO 5G. Sure, once a while the iPad will connect to 5G but it won't stay long. The bloody iPad just loves to cling on to LTE and wil refuse to connect to 5G even if you are within a strong 5G area. This bloody device just won't let you connect to 5G. I've reached out to Apple Support and tried all their tips and still my iPad just won't connect to 5G. So, seriousluy just get the WiFi version.

Cellular ipads have built in gps whereas wifi only ipads don't have gps inbuilt which results in poor navigation.

Yes you can with the Wifi + Celullar Model

El servicio de cellular te conviene si viajas mucho. Si normalmente vas a utilizar tu iPad en donde tengas Wifi no es necesario. El precio de solo wifi y Wifi con Cellular varia de 100 a 130dlls. Aparte el servicio de cellular se paga aparte mes por mes. Tienes que agregarlo a tu plan de teléfono. El te recomienda que chequea en la pagina de Apple para ver si tu proveedor si te da este servicio. En mi caso a mi si me gusta tener el servicio de celullar por mis hijos ya que donde sea se pueden conectar.
