This recreation of the legendary 1937 "Around the corner" video is a prime demonstration that, if you want to make an educational video, it doesn't matter how sophisticated your graphics or editing are, it's the _quality of the explanation_ that makes the difference! The models used in the 1937 original video were pretty much the most advanced technology the producers could afford, but if it wasn't for the very easy, from-the-ground-up and accessible technical explanation, and also how it is delivered in a boombastic, enthusiastic manner, the video would not have been as comprehensible as it is.
Thats not computer graphics. Thats a Jam Handy ! He made a lot of GREAT technical education always just as good as this one. He fathered a brand new concept called "Distance Learning"
I just found this. Absolutely genius. I am so sad this channel have never lift off and haven't produced more content like this. What a shame. This planet needs smarter people so bad.
I agree. Now I want to know how the pivots are controlled. Without that the differential can't control the wheels. Do they require a power source (electrical) or do they work in some other way?
Modern explanations -Better visuals -Hard to follow -Not simple Old explanations -Limited visuals -Easy to follow/imagine -Simplified and then fleshed out when needed Hybrid -Good visuals that drive point home -Easy to follow -Very good flow from the basic principals to their practical application/explanation
I always liked the 1937 version of this, except that in that version they did not mark the tires, so it was very difficult to see the wheel rotation difference. It was a great idea to use spokes in this re-creation, but unfortunatrly due to frame timing the tire tread looks like it is rotating the opposite way, so not much imprrovement unless you focus hard on the spokes which is distracting
Good video, only wrong title, differential steering is when you turn one wheels at different speeds and turn as a result, not like shown here, where the wheels turn at different speeds as a result of turning.
I agree with your opinion. It is also interesting to know your opinion about my videos. In one of the videos, I made a sapphire ring from a titanium pipe on a lathe.

Exactly my friend exactly

The marriage of vintage audio and clean computer graphics made that the most helpful explanation of a differential I've ever watched. well done!
Well said!!!

Original video was so clear and complete that I even cannot imagine how it can be improved =)
Best Explanation ever. Step by step progression towards the final form is incredible.

Some true master who understands things & also knows how to explain them perfectly!!!👍👍👍
Way better then the teacher who uses to teach us
@@damewanbor1918 yes. Right!

Yeah, the US car manufacturers really made a good movie there more than half a century ago. Good steal, ey?

exact
Very good explanation from simple diagram and taking it one step at a time to make the reader understand the final design.
A good re-creation of that old 1937 film!
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Yeah, good steal, ey?
Very nice to understand and simplified by excellent animation
Wow, every day's a school day. Thanks for sharing this handsome!
Perfect explanation! Thanks for sharing this part!
Finally.. I understood how a differential actually works. Thank you
Thanks in a million. Great content. Awesome imagination. Grade: A++💥
this presentation style is great
3:42 reminds me of Lego Technic toys. It's just amazing to discover that some toys aim for realism, making it many times better.
Wow,,,Now i have understood, how differential function.. Lovely description
Yes! Just yes! Awesome engineering breakdown!
Excellent explanation, thanks!

New era mechanics need to watch videos like these.
Excellent animation for this time period.
Masterpiece.
wow it is geniusly enginering when its made. well done!
So good! love it.
Yeah,that's a really good explanation 👍
Good recreation of the 1937 "Around the Corner" video. If only it had a recreation of the motorcycle team intro the original had!
I usually have a hard time understanding the differential mechanics.....but this explanation is like really simple.
it's because it's from the 30's. back when they still knew how to be educational.

I'm still impressed today with the brain that came up with this.
very nice explanation...
A good practical example.
great work
Thank you, glad you like it!
well done!
I was gonna sub but then I saw that this is your only video on your channel and it's been 2 years. The great ones always only have one T^T
Best educational video on the differential that i have ever seen
This is more educational
And really explains things of how they work
Than the school system

Amazing.
Now I need a video on a limited slip differential.
TQ for the info
Wonderful
Genial. El video original es buenísimo tambien. !!!
The one who created this video is no less ingenuity than the one who invented the differential itself.
Good stuff
thank you teacher
Very nice explain
Thank lots for sharing 👍 💚 💙 ♥️
In this video realy well explains how do diffirential works.

very well explained. I am looking forward to watch "how the female mind works" in this series.
The female mind does not work!

Now how does a limited slip differential work?
this white noise is feels so awkard when you listen to it almost 4 minutes and when its end
I can't believe they had the best CGI in the 1937. Holy smokes batman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is any issue while left wheel get stuck. So, right wheel also stuck right?
Yes, now I'm thinking of using this gearbox for a tank instead of using it for a car. I think there is no copyright.
