  • On this last part, I'm finalizing the repair, taking decisions on what parts to replace in order to avoid any future faults with this camera.

BRILLIANT :) Camera has been back with me for a few weeks now and is working faultlessly. I'm super impressed with your painstaking patience to resolve the problem. So grateful and thank you. :)

Hey, love your video I'm using them to try and fix my camera its a 70D that has no power. Checked the obvious things like the door switches and stuff. Nothing lights up, power switch seems fine, no physical damage anywhere, and I have voltage throughout the whole camera. But nothing turns on. While searching the internet for answers I keep coming across a chip with "M04" written on it. Do you know anything about this chip? What it does or how to test it?

I have a 5D3 with a strange behavior and i guess it have some issue with the power board too. The camera works fine, without any errors, but sometimes looks like the camera cannot recognize the batteries. It shut down and show exhausted battery, but if i get out the batteries, wait some seconds and reinsert the camera comes back to work. Other time it shows low battery ( blink icon ) but works for hours. Its "common" the camera go to hibernate mode and cannot restart pressing shutter button, you need to power off/on to use the camera again.
Ok im using old batteries so i bought 2 new one direct from canon... and i got same behavior using new batteries.

Yes, it looks like the power board is partially damaged.
