Thank God you explained this correctly. I didn't know that i had to rotate it with a screw which i threw accidentally when i first got the lens. I was about to throw my lens at the wall out of sheer frustration lol. God bless man

Handy vid , thanks 😊 the continuous autofocus was going in and out a bit when you were on the bench which was a bit distracting so might be worth locking your focus next time
Yeah, I noticed that too when I was editing. Will definitely lock it next time!
Downside is that it won't autofocus on items I hold closer to the lens but it didn't do that with the small lens anyway, which is why I added in some photos of the lens.
Dirk Jan, Jammer dat er geen Nederlands/-talige video is gemaakt. Heb nu na voorheen gewone 37mm groothoeklenzen voor het eerst een Anamorphic 1.33x blauw aangeschaft. Net als zoveel mensen heb ik me geërgerd aan sommige onduidelijk zoals het 0.9 HEX sleutel dat maar niet gevonden kon. Dankjewel dan maar voor de video je hebt gepresenteerd op TH-cam. Als ik het zowat met mijn slechte Engels heb begrepen werkt de Anamorphic lens uitsluitend prima via de Moment App nadat de juiste settings zijn aangeduid. Dit is voor veel mensen onbekend terrein en dat is voor mij idem dito het geval. Heb de lens nog niet getest want dankzij jouw verslag is de lens zojuist in positie geplaatst. Ik maak me zorgen in verband vignettes en distortion. Zo ook dat blauw, waarom moet dit nu zichtbaar zijn in het beeld? Ik ga met tijd nog een paar keer moeten proberen te begrijpen wat allemaal is verwoord in de video. Tot nu toe is begrepen dat de anamorphic lens geen verbetering is indien FilmicPro of MoviePro word gebruikt om te filmen. Dit is wel een minpunt want het is speciaal gekocht om het te gebruiken op de niet meer verkrijgbaar zijnde Freefly Movi Cinema. Zo ik kijk voorwaarts misschien vervaardigd ge ooit ook een vergelijkende presentatie in het Nederlands. Best
Dag Dirk-Jan, mijn response is toegegeven verwarrend. Ik typte in wezen voorbarig, men kan niet lopen als men niet kan wandelen.
Alles bijeen: jouw presentatie was voor veel mensen interessant. Ook voor mij al was ik wel misleid gezien oudere iPhone word gebruikt.ondertussen werkt na het aanduiden 1.33x in de settings van MoviePro-FilmicPro en Moment de lens uitstekend. De Freefly is ondertussen aangekomen maar door ander belangrijk is het nog niet uitgepakt. Volgende week word er aandacht aan besteed. De Movi app is al geïnstalleerd en werkt. Toelichting: eerst niet, bleek iPhone te veel caches had, te traag en via restore and app per app terug geïnstalleerd vlotter en werkte dan wel of ging open de Movi app. Ik ben benieuwd, je antwoord wel niet: gelezen je het erg druk hebt. Dit is internet en hebt u in huidige tijd geen tijd om te reageren. Geen probleem, zou me anderzijds me wel plezieren een antwoord of enige richtlijnen te ontvangenn. Als je wil dat vorige berichten worden verwijderd laat het me weten. Anderzijds zeg ik altijd, het was ooit en wat was kan niet teruggedraaid. Luc

hi, since as of today, the moment app is no longer available with android and I have the s21 ultra. I have mcpro 24fps installed. So when I put the anamorphic lens on and set my mcpro to desqueeze, the saved video will get desqueezed already? or it still has to be done in post process?

There are indeed people who don't want it to be blue or at least not as bright. I completely understand that. The color of it and the intensity will always be personal taste so it's impossible to get that perfect so that everyone loves it.

Great explanations(!!!!!!!), especially impressed with the vertical/portrait photos - never imagined using the lens in this way. Q: How to print such portrait photos in this unusual aspect ratio from a commercial printer??
Great question. I'm not an expert on this I'm afraid but printing it on whatever size you have available that has at least the length (or height for vertical shots) and cutting it to size could be an option?

What is anamorphic lens number for iPhone 13 pro
Hi guys, i have pixel 4, i attached the 1.33x anamorphic lens into the 45mm f2.4 tele lens and Filmic pro 1.33 Anamorphic adapter option greyed out, i cannot get the desqueeze preview. Am i wrong anywhere guys?
On Android, camera apps are a challenge to make, to say the least. A lot of manufacturers don't allow app makers a lot of access to camera options. You'd best apply the de-squeeze in post-production.

I have both the blue and the gold flare Moment anamorphics. I mostly prefer the gold because the color of the blue is too strong, and too cool for mother nature.

Dudeeee!!! i was just wondering what the hell was going with my lens!! i just it and i was freacking out.....what i dont understand yet is what exactly is the rotation for?
Some older phone cases have the lens interface rotated 90º compared to how they are placed now. So it's not the lens+camera combination but the older vs newer case combined with this lens. Circular lenses can be used in pretty much any rotation. The Anamorphic lens only works in 2 orientations where it is horizontal and not vertical. The rotation is just to correct it for the lens interface orientation on the cases.
Hold on no... First, this is a great video... Second, there is a gold flare version of the lens. I purchased it... It is awesome.
Correct, there is now the option for a gold flare lens. That lens was released some time after I made this video.

what happens if i dont use the lens and just use the anamorphic lens button in moment app? What happens then? Is that just the anamorphic simulation?
It won't simulate an Anamorphic look. First of all, you won't get the horitontal light flare. That really is created by the lens. If you set the app to apply the Anamorphic lens correction without using the lens, it just stretches the image, making everything look wider (fatter) than what it really is.

My box didn't come with those accessories. This is extremely frustrating.
Oh no! There should be a few items in the box: the lens itself of course. Next to the foam padding you should find a front lens cap, and a microfiber bag with a small 0.9mm allen key attached to the drawstring. Sometimes, this allen key can hide inside the bag (where the drawstring enters) or hide in the box so do check under the foam sa well. If you still can't find it, you'd best send an e-mail to hello@shopmoment.com and they can help you get this sorted. Do include a picture of what was in the box.

boez52 I found it on the TH-cam music library. It has a lot of free music to be used for TH-cam videos. Some creators require you to name them in the comment in order to use their music, most don’t. th-cam.com/users/audiolibrarymusic?nv=1

Thanks for your feedback! They are a bit loud indeed. Still learning to edit the audio (and video) for even better quality. I've got a new mic, all I need now is to make some time for new videos. The new mic is a wireless one so will be closer to my mouth instead of on the camera. Hopefully, this will leave out the loud nature sounds a bit more.
