I was always afraid of adult swim as a kid. I always thought I would get in a ton of trouble if I got caught watching it and the bumpers also did a good job of creeping me out and making me avoid it. I distinctly remember the King of the Hill opening being my signal to panic and turn off the tv. I recently began watching the series on hulu and when I first started, even at 18 years old, that theme song put me in a state of panic
I had a similar experience to that show when I'd watch it as a kid, but because only my mom hated the show and could'int stand it to the point of it being banished lol
It would've been interesting to see! I know they didn't decide for it to be a running story until they started writing the second episode, so this really could've been anything.
This was really interesting! I've never had access to Adult Swim on my TV, so it was cool to learn about new lost media topics through this video, and all the odd and interesting shows and skits they created! Love your videos :)
This also a specific note, but I loved the editing for the Space Ghost entry where you overlaid your commentary of "Well, I don't know!" To the weird colonial guy saying "Well, I don't know!" too, it made me giggle so much - this kind of editing is really fun and skilful!
If you ever make an [adult swim] part 2, there’s a Metalocalypse game that was supposed to come out in 2009 ,but was cancelled due to quality control and creative differences. And it was found in 2016 by a TH-camr named Proto that had access to an XBox360 developer’s kit, so while we don’t have files for public consumption we have plenty of footage and information
Listing an ending to one of your show's episodes to be bought on eBay is one of those ideas that's good on paper, but has horrible rammifications when put into reality.
Thanks for talking about the lost Space Ghost script; I've emailed George Lowe (the VA for Space Ghost) if he had any knowledge of the script, but he hasn't responded back. It's definitely a hunt I'm interested in because I've been a huge AS fan for so long now.
I remember when I was in middle school and was staying up later than I was allowed. One of the infomercials, Or just little break sequence blasted the volume to 200% and it basically just said, really loudly, "if you can hear this come turn off your kids television." My mom came flying in and scolded me. Never have been able to find it since. Would like to find it and use it to edit content!
If it helps, that definitely wasn't in any of the early infomercials. It's probably a bump that was playing in between shows, which means you can search for it on www.bumpworthy.com/
Kind of! There was a series of frankenhole Halloween bumpers that ended with Orel joining them to announce Beforel Orel. Supposedly, there was also a pitch for a crossover called the Moral Orel Frankenhole Sell Out Show (or something similar) that wasn't picked up for production.
I'm actually wondering if Adult Swim can't legally release the Space Ghost ending due to there probably being some kind of contract for winning the bid? It might only be up to the bidder to release the ending. But it's crazy they did that, I would love to know what prompted them to do that and who ultimately won.
I'd be surprised if they legally couldn't release it, just because I can't imagine they put that much forethought into it. The guys making Space Ghost were doing all kinds of wild things on that show, they had things like fan phone lines and Haiku contests, so putting an ending on eBay just feels like another thing in line with that spirit of wild experimentation.
Good video. Surprised that you didn't mention that Gavin McInnes voiced a character in Soul Quest Overdrive, which is batshit insane considering what he's up to now. Also, there's an entire 10 episode series called Tight Bros that starred Mc Chris and MF Doom that was meant to air in 2010 but was never released. According to MC Chris the show was well into production before being cancelled. Definitely Lost Media there. Also there's a lot of never seen pilots including one made by Harold and Kumar and one for a Team Fortress 2 TV show which is now known as "Expiration Date" and available on TH-cam.
I thought about mentioning McInnes, but it was tough to find a way to do it without getting too distracted or too political with it. Also I remember hearing about Tight Bros forever ago, ill have to read more about it!
I wish I could see this one lost bumper, it had Carl dressed like a doctor, even referring to himself as “Dr. Carl”. I’ve been looking for it for years and still haven’t found it
Where's the lost Moral Orel episode "Abstinence" that was supposed to be for Season 3, that was lost for 6 years until a crew member who worked on Moral Orel uploaded the episode to TH-cam in 2015. Or the lost ATHF episode "Boston" which was supposed to be the premiere for Season 5 poking fun at the Boston Bomb Scare incident that happened the year before, the search began between late 2012 and early 2013 because of a video by RebelTaxi. Then in 2015 the episode was leaked online during ATHF's final season, making the episode finally found.
This was a great watch. As a small youtuber myself, I can confidently say you definitely deserve more subs. Your style and humor makes the video that much more interesting, its like you've been doing this for years. Really looking forward to seeing you grow in the future!
I remember reading that, but idk if that was the creators or adult swim who decided it. Either way, if you're doing an ATHF spinoff, and you don't want it to be too similar to ATHF, maybe pick from the hundreds of characters that aren't also talking food items (RIP Spacecataz) 😅
This is interesting! I do have a lost media topic idea though. I don't know if you were inspired name wise, but there was once another guy on YT who did a series called "lost media monday." He had a common criticism which was that he would stutter. I did enjoy his content tho because unlike most, he covered topics that weren't done a million times (such as the lost scenes pf the Power Rangers Turbo movie and a Christmas movie that I can't remember the title of which centered around a doll of some kind). Ironically, he closed his channel and now his content is lost media.
ShroomTube! I remember his old Lost Media videos and always wished he would've returned one day. There are some archived versions of the series you can find uploaded to YT by the channel 'The TH-cam Archivist'.
You talking about ShroomTube? The guy who wiped his channels from existence because he thought the episodes he did only described child topics despite his last ever episode being about lost footage of a news reporter that killed herself. Yeah I used to watch him too, with the main criticism I heard of him being that he would often just read off of existing articles.
Solid video, you should definitely make more lost media videos, such as the Lost notebook rhymes of MF doom they were never released because of dealings gone wrong, I know technically there was another channel that covered that but could be interesting topic to do in the next video
There was this Adult Swim Show that came on at 1:00 a.m. that was Live Action and part of the episode was an Electric Eel along with a date like dream that was on a boat.
I remember how annoying it was to have to get outta the pool for adults to go in but then nobody went in... Like then why you makin us leave the pool eh??
Assy McGee just brought back a wave of weird nostalgia. I remember watching it when I was a kid and feeling like I wasn't supposed to watch LMAO. I loved Off the Air tho. I miss it so much
It’s crazy to realize that I’ve been watching adult swim since I was a Sophomore in high school. I’m 36. 😂 But at the same time, highly impressive that you did your homework and made me look back. Especially Space Ghost C2C. I remember that whole ebay thing and was super mad I couldn’t get to it 🤣 but had forgotten about it until now. It was a great time for TV.
That's amazing! I think one of my favorite things about making this video has been hearing everyone's experiences with what's in it. I wasn't around for some of the earlier stuff, but it sounds like it would've been a lot of fun to see it firsthand.
There were a few people that reached out on twitter but didn't get any response. Maybe there's another way to get in contact. The episode was written by Matt Thompson and Adam Reed, the Archer guys, maybe one of them could have it too.
@@MonitorLizardTV hm that’s interesting I know he rarely uses twitter I’m always surprised when I see a tweet of his show up in my feed. He did answer a sgctc question I had once but it did take a few days. Might be worth reaching out to those guys as well. They HAVE to have it somewhere and if someone won it they have to know who has it. I think that’s probably the most fascinating piece of lost media ive heard of because that’s so strange to put it on eBay specially in 1999 lol
Surprised you didn’t mention the Eric Andre Show pilot from 2009. It took around a year to edit, and was pitched to a bunch of different networks before AS picked it up.
Honestly, I think the Soul Quest Overdrive thing might have also not been as successful it seems. Bible Fruit is one of the few episodes of any show that does make me genuinely uncomfortable after a while, especially after being around people similar to those fruit at a point in my life.
I get it why it says all kids out of the pool for Adult Swim because they're probably watching Cartoon Network and then Cartoon Network is done so Adult Swim is now on the air
Man, the aqua teen spin off could have been so good, if they just kept the original concept and added some depth to the characters, it could have been bojack before bojack
I think if they had just FOUND a new premise it could've been good. It didn't seem like the show had any idea of what it wanted to be or even what it could be. Without any foundation to ground the characters or create a sense of normalcy for the weird stuff to stick out, it just felt like being dropped into any early-2000's Newgrounds cartoon for 5 minutes
Well yeah they archive all the content but it's all only accessible if you have cable and "link" that shit or whatever, lost cable at 6, 22 now think I'll be alright without it

I heard about the lost 12 OZ. Mouse pilot from Lsupersonicq. It sucks that it's gone forever since I grew up with the show.
It would've been interesting to see! I know they didn't decide for it to be a running story until they started writing the second episode, so this really could've been anything.

Thanks so much for watching!! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it, too, especially as someone who didn't grow up watching the channel much

@@MonitorLizardTV if you do make a 2nd one could you talk about the unknown songs used in well known bumps like the dawn is your enemy?
the music choice of this video is a nostalgia trip from my childhood into my teens
As a kid I had a strict ass mother and could not watch anything at night. Wished I had time to watch everything back then

Idk, $1000 could pay for a lot of space ghost episodes
@@MonitorLizardTV It took 42 dollars just to animate an arm back and forth *once*, what can 1000 dollars cover now?

Love that you have the adult swim bumps music in the background. Something I absolutely missed from growing up watching adult swim with my brothers.
I remember when I was in middle school and was staying up later than I was allowed. Maybe a April fool's joke? Can't imagine doing that too much would be good for ratings.
That's hilarious! Now I wanna see that bumper.
I remember years ago getting an adult swim sampler with a couple of pilots on it and 12 Oz mouse was definitely amongst it
I think frankenhole had a crossover with Moral Orel at one point IDK it's been so long since I've seen it.
Kind of! There was a series of frankenhole Halloween bumpers that ended with Orel joining them to announce Beforel Orel. Supposedly, there was also a pitch for a crossover called the Moral Orel Frankenhole Sell Out Show (or something similar) that wasn't picked up for production.
The Mooninites never getting official action figures is agony for me as a huge Mooninite fan
Didn’t remember 12 oz mouse until that damn shark and all these memories came flooding back
12 oz Mouse is my favorite show of all time, shame that pilot is lost
Maybe Soul Quest Overdrive having lost content is for the better lmao, simply watching clips of it is dreadful
I'm actually wondering if Adult Swim can't legally release the Space Ghost ending due to there probably being some kind of contract for winning the bid? Those are fairly well known, I'd assume, probably not added because they are already known by a lot of people
Frankenhole was always a show that I didn't really watch that much of when it came out of but even I saw this episode
God how I’d love to read the lost Snatch ending.

I personally cannot find Adult Swim's fake 30 minute commercial for Icelandic Ocean Blue. It was verryyyy Tim and Eric but before they started
