    I have the same specs almost, except my cpu is a 6700k and I have 32gbs of 4x 8gb low lat ripjaws @ 3600mhz. not much it won't run. in fact so far, I haven't thrown anything at it it won't handle. it is still a beast of a system for as old as it is, but then I never go above 2k as my monitor is 2k. I've been wanting to upgrade by building a new system, but I just don't have any practical need right now. the system does what I need it to do.

      I see that the 6700k can overclock but does that mean it can utilize ram over 1833mhz?

    • @dekion261
      @dekion261 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @bawb244 depends on your motherboard and the ram. if you have both that support XMP.. then yes. if not, you will be running slower, if at all. My ram is set in XMP as 3600mhz 4x8gb ddr4 ripjaws. low lat. my board is failing, I think, but it still supports xmp. However, DDR4 at that generation of i core chips should be running at the lowest 2133mhz natively. at least my acer predator in the corner with a locked bios and i5-6400 won't go higher than 2133 unless i get ram from crucial the board will accept as 2400 which is the highest the board will accept. processor might not. IF you are running a 6700k, then you should be on a board that allows XMP.
      *I meant by should be on a board that accepts XMP, that you need to use a 6700k on such a board to get everything out of it. *

    Hey, thanks for the video ! Is it normal that the GPU is very often used at 90% of its capacity or more ? Does it mean this computer would have better performances with a better GPU, without the need to change the other specs ? Thank you

    • @BenchmarkEnthusiast
      @BenchmarkEnthusiast  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's normal not for any computer in any game to be using any component at any percentage. It will always depend on everything. You're asking a really big question. It will always depend.

    • @xaviergl
      @xaviergl 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi there, yes it's normal for your GPU/CPU to reach up to 100% capacity especially when gaming or video editing. If it's often at very high usage % it simply means you're nearly maxing out your components, as long as you have proper cooling everything will be fine. If it's at 100% tho it means the system/game you are using would require an upgrade in CPU/GPU/RAM depending on what is used. So unless you often find yourself at 100% usage and the game is at low FPS, you don't need to upgrade

      It's impossible for me to diagnose the issue from here. Every PC needs to be checked at the spot. However, that is extremely odd. If the CPU temperatures are below 80c degrees and It boosts up to 3.7-4.0GHz, then I'd guess that there's something else putting a load on the CPU in your system.

    Hey master. AMD alternative for i7 6700? 😊

    • @BenchmarkEnthusiast
      @BenchmarkEnthusiast  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In terms of performance, I guess it's Ryzen 5 1400, but's it's hard to say. There are a lot of differences between the two.
      In terms of price, it's Ryzen 5 3600, which is like 3 times better than i7 6700. There are far too many factors to give you a straight answer.
      You gotta compare CPU + Motherboard + RAM 'cause i7 6700's max supported RAM frequency is 2133MHz, it's locked, you need a Z board to unlock it. R5 3600's RAM frequency is unlocked. i7 6700 is a locked processor, you can't overlock it, Z board can also unlock it a bit, not fully tho. R5 3600 is an unlocked processor, you can overclock it as much as you want. Ryzen CPUs generally benefit more from better RAM. Intel CPUs, not as much.
      All that considered, Ryzen 5 2600 + B450 + 3200MHz RAM will cost you the same as i7 6700 + H110 + 2133MHz RAM. The AMD combo will be twice as strong as the intel one. If you cannot find a cheap B450 motherboard, A320 will do too, even if you can't get the RAM speed above 3000MHz. The performance will still be far better than the i7-6700's.

      @@w.iriarte If you're looking for a GPU, I recommend RX 6600 or better if you wanna go AMD. If you go Nvidia, pick whichever GPU you want. In this case, RTX 2060 will serve you better. RTX 2060 will allow you to use DLSS, which is way better than FSR 2. This might change in the future, but I've had trouble with older than 6000 series AMD GPUs. Nvidia GPUs never had similar issues, which is why I prefer RTX 2060.

      So, in terms of practical use, I'd say that anything better than RTX 2060 is a stretch. If you overclock that 6700k, it will be able to handle better GPUs. If you don't overclock the CPU, then RTX 2060/2060S/3050 are your best choices in terms of modern Nvidia cards. If you do overclock it, RTX 3060 will become an option for you 'cause the CPU will handle it much better, which is as far as you can upgrade that system.
      P.S. RTX 2070 is not much better than RTX 2060S or 2060. Better to get RTX 3060 instead in that case.

      Valorant is a really CPU-heavy game. Enable multithreading in the game settings and set the graphics on high. Your CPU is most likely fully used by the game, but changing graphics settings won't make you lose or gain FPS since the GPU is sleeping anyway. The game wants a really powerful CPU and a weak GPU. You'd need at least an i5-10400F to get close to 100% GPU usage in Valorant. i7-6700 is not that powerful for Valorant.

If it's 1440p, then get RTX 2060 and use DLSS, you won't be able to use ray tracing, the GPU is too weak for that.
      But at 1080p RTX 2060 is too strong for i7 6700 and its older architecture cannot keep up with the GPU, you'll have slow RAM and you won't be able to give that RTX 2060 enough headroom to get the most out of it, which is basically as much performance as a GTX 1070 can deliver. In your specific scenario GTX 1070 will be more suitable.
      If you want a RTX 2060 tho, get it. But RTX 2060's price is close to RX 6600, maybe even RX 7600.
