A troubled police detective assigned to 911 operator duty scrambles to save a distressed caller during a harrowing day of revelations - and reckonings.
Though he's very popular, i still think Jake is highly underrated.
this , his mindfuck movies are incredible ...
ZAa
@hgrenold bob both movies are great
You have not seen all to well yet lol
I want him to win an Oscar one day. Made me cry in Southpaw 😎👍🏻👍🏻
Incredible how intense the movie became at certain points without showing much. Proof of how powerful imagination is. Should be a lesson to other filmmakers. Sometimes less is more.
I completely agree doesn't matter if it's a stage play or a multi billion dollar movie... What excellent directing, actors, and script can do!
This wasn't a great movie.
@hgrenold bob ever heard of. Inspiration dumbass?
This movie is trash.
@@MrSmallpoxSatan thank you. I have no fuckin clue why people think this I worth watching. I respect the director but this was not one of his best.
For a movie that had one setting it was absolutely incredible
@hgrenold bob yep
Same I absolutely enjoyed it
I'm a fan of gyllenhaal movies but the original is ten times better than this
@@travisbickle0526 yep
@hgrenold bob cry
I love how your mind starts to fill in the blanks
That is true. It allows everyone to experience and interpret the film individually based on their imagination. I love that 😄
Jake deserves all the glory. The movie was great and the bts stories are even more impressive
Hey the people over the phone did some great acting too, especially the child
@hgrenold bob bozo
@hgrenold bob Why is this so? Jake was the main character, and he shot the film in two weeks. In almost every scene, he was the focal point. You can't tell me Jake didn't deserve to be recognized for this film. Because, according to your logic, every film that has come before this is only great because of the director, not the actors, right? ... shut up and learn to respect others involved in a movie other than movie directors. Acting and performances go a long way toward making a movie extensional interesting.
@hgrenold bob Also, you're a true bozo with no brain then. Because your logic is illogical nonsense, because you cannot possibly and actually enjoy movies. Because you simply believe movies are great because of the film's director. However, that isn't the only thing people look at when they watch a movie. They examine the acting, camera, scenes, line deliveries, and character action in a film. How natural it is, and how realistic it is in a way. So stop being a bs of a critic if your only gonna give recognition to just the director and not the actors as well.
@hgrenold bob Jake does in fact deserve all the glory in his acting… Nobody is crediting him for directing/writing here. Only praising him as an actor playing the role very well… smh
Jake is acting in a whole different way that I have even seen him do. Movie is the best one of have seen in years. Thanks for all the harder work it took to film it during a pandemic. I plan to watch it again!
Wat
you need to watch more movies lmfao
You should watch the original movie from 2018 instead.
Essentially one actor, a single set, a simple plot line. Yet it kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Masterful movie.
You should watch the original movie from 2018.
"broken people save broken people" 💔
The power of sound can carry a film. It makes us realize how our grandparents and great grand parents would listen heavily to radio shows before television was invented. Sound can carry a story when done right
I mean... audiobooks exist lmao
When I finished watching, I had the feeling I've seen all characters in the movie. For a moment I thought it's not possible I've been looking only at Jake's face for 2 hours 😂
His acting skills are unbelievable! He nailed his role perfectly! It was so fascinating!
I watched that movie a few hours ago with my dad and after that, we thought about how incredible it is that this tension through the movie felt so real…and you can only perceive that by Joe (Jake) in his office! That was pretty good!
Jake's acting was amazing in this movie
This movie is INTENSE.
I know it's a remake of the Danish film ... but it's nothing like I've ever seen before.
Well done Jake ... well done to all the crew :)
I watched the original and it is literally the same scenes, the same Lines and the same camera angles.
@@thomashart22 well you basically have already watched the original, by watching the remake.
Yeah, it’s basically if the Danish version was slightly more compelling and with bettor acting. They’re both great, this is just the upgrade.
It was out of this world, what a performance!
I often start a movie at night and finish it the next day. This one had me in bed after midnight because it was just to tense to wait until the next day. Jake Gyllenhaal is an incredible actor.
I watch all of his movies just so that I can hear his soft, beautiful voice. ❤️
even thought i've already seen the original, i can still appreciate the tension in the scene shown here
I'm glad Netflix use this TH-cam channel
I can really recommend watching the Danish version, which this movie is based off. It's called Den Skyldige, and it is very good!
That scene where Joe is told he won't be able to meet his daughter if his partner speaks the truth 😢
Great movie! Jake and the crew have perfectly demonstrated the inner tension, guilty and mental status of the character - Joe, and how he eventually came out and accepted his past (his fault) after the conversation with a woman with psychotic disorder and really illustrate how "broken people can heal broken people", not just only Joe but also the woman - Emily. Amazing acting!
gosh this movie had me on the edge. jake portrayed the character with so much emotions that told the story so well. i also loved the way this movie was built up and directed, very unique!
You should watch the original movie from 2018 instead.
@@akyhne everybody keeps saying this as if they are superior for simply watching the original version… The bottom line is, the movies are the exact same. If you’ve seen the Netflix adaptation, you’ve basically seen the original so there’s almost no reason to watch it then…
The movies are identical, only different actors and language
@@Lil_Valor Not true. I recently watched both of them right after each other. There are some key differences. And they change the movie completely.
In the Danish version, the little girl is butchered - dead. In the American version, she lives, and everything turns out fine.
If you don't find this to be a huge difference, also concidering the untold outcome of the two stories, then there's something wrong with your brain.
But it's not the only difference. There are other, smaller, subtle differences, that makes the stories even further apart. But maybe you missed those too?
Best acting from Jake I’ve seen thus far.
He’s an icon, he’s a legend, and he is the moment
this is the best movie on netflix by far. directors, LESS IS MORE. get good writers and you dont need million dollar sets.
You should watch the original movie from 2018. It's Danish, it's with subtitles, but everyone says it's better.
Great acting from Mr. Gylenhaal. I could feel the stress that his character was going through. Intense!
Jake is an actor where acting is not just his passion but it is his craft. A craft which he continues to perfect
most underrated actor of our generation
Another outstanding performance from Jake. He’ll go down as one of the finest actors of this generation.
Jake Gyllenhaal is such an underrated actor. He is so good.
Broken people save broken people, easily my fav quote of the movie.
He gives an astonishing performance and the movie is brilliant and riveting.
You should try watch the original movie from 2018. Everyone says it's even better.
i just realized that emily wasnt getting abducted her bf wanted to get her help from a hospital. i think the twist that she was the one putting harm on others and matthew was trying to help her but physically couldnt is incredibly introduced.
What happens when mad directorial skillz meet off-the-scale acting talents? This film is the answers. Glad I gave this one a looking. Brilliant.
You should try watch the original movie from 2018. Everyone says it's even better. This one is a rip-off, scene by scene.
@@akyhne thx for the fyi
He's incredible..
I really like how this movie really want you to think on your imagination and I can say that this is one of the the best thriller movies I seen in awhile NGL I cried
Incredible acting from Jake. It was so intense from the first second till the end.
INCREDIBLE acting Jake!!!
Intense phone call movie double feature, "The Guilty" and "Locke".
I wish videos like this were longer
So youre telling me this movie was shot in 11 days? That too without the director present on scene?
Film that are "isolated" to certain rooms and spaces are incredibly exciting most of the time
because then all the attention is directed toward the characters and tension building.
Solid movie, great actor
Really solid movie, Jake is really great as well. The first hour Is great but the last 30 mins let's it down a little bit.
Felt the same way. By the end I felt less interested and not as enthusiastic about telling people to watch. But still think it’s solid.
You only think that because the void of assumptions was filled by the story. For example, you were left to assume why he was going to trial, and he went and told the person on the other line the whole story
@@blackmcbain3145huh? I just said I liked the movie. Are you telling me a reason why I liked it or why I shouldn't?
I agree, didn't feel any type of closure by the end and so many questions in my head
One of the BEST movies I've EVER seen! Watched the original as well and loved it but the US version just got me so emotional and I not tears.... good job!!!!
I loved the guilty movie 👍🏻
Your eyes was talking man, you are great👏🏻
I watched the movie last night.
I gotta say, I was neutral as to Gyllenhaal's acting ability. This movie brought my respect for him as an actor to a whole other level.
Antoine Fuqua, as usual, has done amazing work.
I am assuming you have never seen nightcrawler or brokeback mountain... Masterclasses in acting
The movie is a 1:1 scene by scene rip-off, of a Danish movie from 2018.
You should watch the original.
@@blackmcbain3145 or prisoners
MAN, this movie had me at the edge every plot twists, 💯💯💯💯
If there is jake name… that’s my number one priority.. I know this guy don’t play … his touch is always is a masterpiece
i absolutely adore him
Excellent acting, my gosh! I'm absolutely blown away!
You should watch the original movie from 2018 instead.
Just finished watching the movie jake is a wonderful actor 👏 bravo 👏
i cried so much at the ending omg
Underrated film
Jake is my favorite actor of this times...
Regardless of this film being a remake? Dude this was phenomenal!
Usually i hate the remakes but this remake is phenomenal like you said
that one part of the movie was wild
good movie, i want to see the original now too
The original is 100 times better.
What original?
Too late american.
@@mortar365 it's a ripoff of a danish movie.
@@mortar365 can you read?
Such a great masterpiece
his acting is so good
I was truly on the edge of my seat and DID not see it coming!
this movie gave me the same vibes as uncut gems
I love that it us a Film just made out of nearly one perspective❤ so full of pressure and much tension with a really good plottwist🎉
this movie and jake's acting was great!
i could watch this guy all day
I think this is a masterpiece
I want that sweater
The movie is great and he is an amazing actor.
I used to be a 911 operator. This is an amazing movie. Jake is a beautiful man 😻
I just watched this movie, I'm fuckin crying, no movie has hit me that hard.
10 out of 10
Looks like a great movie. Jake and crew really dodged a bullet there in October 2020. Everybody could have died from a virus with a 99% recovery rate. Glad they are healthy and happy, including the director who had covid and almost died yet was able to direct the movie over a radio from a van. Looking forward to seeing the movie.
Jake means Great performances..
I wanna watch this movie
You had me at Jake💜Aweome actor & film gonna watch it!
*UPDATE. Jus watched & WHOA PLOT TWIST what a vicereal movie experience!
Good man. Great acting.
Great performance, great twist, underwhelming ending
The twist is the van that kidnapped the girl is the director
Surprisingly good movie!!
One of the best movies ive ever watched
i would recommend shutter island. it’s like this but amazing
It's weird how one can remember scenes from this movie that aren't actually there
this movie is amazing, i really loved it
This reminds me of 'Locke' ... totally different story but same principle. Both greatly entertaining.👍❤👊
Very good actor ! You kept me goin to your emotions! damn haha. You made me angry, you made me shout by your stupid mistakes here, most especially THE SNAKE conversation scene! 😂! and you made me cry a lot when you cried inside the cubicle. 😢
i love these story... Awesome ,chilling, and i was amazed ! ❤
Pity he's not British, he would make a good bond.
Here before all the praise for him is quickly replaced with pure hate. I cannot judge the man because I do not know the full story, but I absolutely find it appalling millions of people are openly insulting him online for something he did decades ago.
That's a cool sweater!
It was an amazing movie..his performance was highly realistic n powerful
This movie was all too well
I want this sweater.
i love this man
One of the best actors around, but he never made a top top movie! He won’t be remembered like Keane or denzel
This movie made me see different scenes in my head but it was all in his call office area damn I just finished it 10 mins ago
"have you been drinking?"
"...have you taken your meds?"
I just watched this. Such a heavy fuckin view. Bravo again boys and girls
I should admit i watched this movie 5 times bc of good script and his great acting.I really admire Jake,He's so incredible
You should try watch the original movie from 2018. Everyone says it's even better.
I wish Jake would take on the traditional Tom Cruse rolls. He does a good job and wold be good in them.
Jake Gyllenhaal will always be the ultimate boy next door!
Will be watchin 🇭🇺👏🏼Love you Jake ❤
Incredible how they managed to pull it off under these conditions... Congrats to our amazing jake and the whole crew 🙌
