Wondergirls was so famous back then in the Philippines. Even now, you can still hear their songs sang by local folks and played by our neighbors. As far as I remember, the first time I heard this was when I was 9 years old.

@Konan Well, without a starting point then how would KPOP become popular? Yes, BTS did have a big influence on global markets and topped charts but who says other groups can't have an impact? Without many groups before BTS, BTS wouldn't have been created or grown to be what it is today. BTS is talented, hardworking, and passionate in their art and works but you should also acknowledge the senior groups that had an influence on foreign markets, whether big or small.
@Konan I'm not saying that senior groups should take credit or achievements from future groups like BTS, BLACKPINK, and among others because that's their hardwork and success. But that doesn't mean these older groups didn't do anything or have a lasting impact. Yes BTS did make KPOP more popular in global markets which gave more opportunities for future groups or artists, but so did senior groups. Groups like WG and GG became somewhat popular overseas for a short amount of time but that alone is outstanding and never done before during that time. Artists all have had an impact on KPOP, whether on a big or small scale. As long as you acknowledge this and the achievements of senior groups as well as future groups themselves without degrading one's success then I think this is all I have to say.
For the younger Kpop fans Nobody was such a successful hit in Korea and Asia that it made jyp want to try and bring this song to popularity over here hence why they made an English version.

OMG…this was live?! Wonder Girls in Wendy Williams show?! Opening act for the Jonas Brothers?! Let ‘s just agree that was an awesome performance and probably one of the earliest Korean pop idols to set foot in an American tv show…how i miss them!

Wendy Williams never knows anything about any of her guests tbh, her ‘style’ is to just go with the flow and do no homework on the guests which is why she’s become such a meme bc at times it makes her look like a whole hot mess
for me, Wonder Girls were the first Kpop girl group were introduced to the USA and i appreciate the fact they even translated their songs like Nobody, Tell Me and So Hot to english version so they can reach out to their international audiences that's why i'm really proud of them and at the same time i will surely miss this Wonderful talents...hope they reunite in the future.

This is from 2009, this show was fairly new and had not started broadcasting in HD yet. Also, the concept of this song is Motown from the 70s.

i feel like a lot of the 2nd generation kpop groups paved the way. yes, BTS did make a big breakthrough, too. but there’s no doubt that groups like WG, 2NE1, big bang, girls generation, etc made themselves known in america waaaaaay before. i remember in 2012 i would hear 2NE1 songs in commercials here in america and i was super surprised too!
Blinkeu FOREVER yeah i know what paved the way means. and there’s no doubt that BTS did pave a path of their own for others follow! but i’m just saying that other groups before them also paved the way in their own way, too, which most likely had an impact on others at the time to follow also. this has nothing to do with being “world stars” but just making an impact of their own, no matter how big or how small.

@Konan Well, without a starting point then how would KPOP become popular? Yes, BTS did have a big influence on global markets and topped charts but who says other groups can't have an impact? Without many groups before BTS, BTS wouldn't have been created or grown to be what it is today. BTS is talented, hardworking, and passionate in their art and works but you should also acknowledge the senior groups that had an influence on foreign markets, whether big or small.
@Konan I'm not saying that senior groups should take credit or achievements from future groups like BTS, BLACKPINK, and among others because that's their hardwork and success. But that doesn't mean these older groups didn't do anything or have a lasting impact. Yes BTS did make KPOP more popular in global markets which gave more opportunities for future groups or artists, but so did senior groups. Groups like WG and GG became somewhat popular overseas for a short amount of time but that alone is outstanding and never done before during that time. Artists all have had an impact on KPOP, whether on a big or small scale. As long as you acknowledge this and the achievements of senior groups as well as future groups themselves without degrading one's success then I think this is all I have to say.

For the younger Kpop fans Nobody was such a successful hit in Korea and Asia that it made jyp want to try and bring this song to popularity over here hence why they made an English version.
They were the ones who first made kpop popular in southeast asia with nobody, which made kpop companies more motivated to globalise

Although they could've become more popular, basically everyone in the industry has seen or heard of WG. From these influences from WG along with other senior groups, KPOP has grown to what it is today.
