This movie's plot, if you even want to call it that, it was written by a 5 year old with crayons. The entire story was a couple having marriage issues, going to Oregon, husband gets bit, and spending the rest of the movie running in and out of the house for the rest of the runtime.
The whole point of a movie is to entertain the audience, and I can tell you is that this movie was great, I went to watch it with my daughter and we had a great time. Its better than what some reviewers are saying, check it out. Keep in mind this is not a Werewolf or Wolf Man movie, its more of an infected creature of the night.
I would rather watch a bad monster movie than a bad superhero movie, or some reboot or sequel or prequel. At least bad monster movies are usually good for a laugh, but they gotta be baaaaaad, not just a little bad. Make a commitment, go all in on the cheese.

All the technical aspects are great. The practical effects, makeup and sound design are very good, and Christopher Abbot gives a good lead performance. I just wish the supporting performances and story were better. Good review!

This one was way better than some critics are saying. I don’t get all the hate that some are spewing. It wasn’t perfect, but I appreciate what we got. I loved how they did the perspective switches; it was chilling especially towards the climax in the barn.

Even though you didn’t totally like the movie, I’m still willing to see it because it’s been so long since I’ve watched a minimally competent film in theaters. At this point, I’m desperate for one. With all its flaws, I’m sure I can get through it with a nice bucket of caramel popcorn. That’s the Blumhouse business model-just good enough to sit through.
What do you think about studios releasing movies like they do games? Bare bones, but the concept is there, and then the director can relax and see if things are going well, then continue. It would be a very different movie watching process, but overall, it's a better final product, hopefully. instead of this directors cut, theater cut, extended cut, snidder cut.

I can't wair for the spoilers for this, just to hear you crap on it some, lol it was definitely a huge let down for me an mine, we had a lot of hope for this one, it was my most anticipated movie next to heart eyes and the monkey, but the issues for me were almost endless, from the terrible acting- witch shocked me- esp the girl from ozark i expected more, to the boring go nowhere story, the hamfisted msg throughout, the lame effects an esp how bad the wolfman design is, my lord is it bad, even with it being a virus instead of the classic I think they still could have done a lot more cool with it, look at resident evil, an they could have done it with practical effects, we have seen far better from movies back in the 80s/90s, Most likely with smaller budgets. I think they took this in the wrong direction, the plot if you can call it that has a lot of holes, esp after they pick up the stranger who was in that deer stand from the beginning to go to the father's house, we skip ahead and it is freaking dark even tho the stranger said the house wasn't far an it was daylight when they picked him up, an to add onto it they get into an accident an just so happen to crash the damn moving truck back at the same damn deer stand they picked him up from, even tho they had been driving for god only knows how long,,,, an they needed that to happen so that way by the end the girl could grab the tool from the strangers body an take the girl up into the deer stand to reenact the scene from the beginning, Another thing that doesn't make sense is ozark girl being able to find the keys for the truck, an the dad being an avid hunter clearly yet he had no weapons in the house they could use to defend themselves outside of a butcher knife...... There is probably more i just got a ton of other crap to mention. Like if they had to do the small cast why not make the film a lot more tense and crazy with the transformation since we really don't have the body count or a lot of werewolves to rely on entertaining us, Or better yet, instead of coming up with that lame plot we got, instead of doing the dumb hamfisted msg about parental a, why not just skip that beginning section or show it but just to show the father son aspect don't have any werewolf maybe a bear or instead have it be completely unknown, then skip ahead, have the dad along with the family be strong & happy in the beginning or so it seems an have them go on a vacation with some other family or friends, an then have them have an accident in a radom place on thier travel, have the beast attack there an then they flee to a random nearby house that they just so happen to find, an have the story unfold like that, Keep the fade going longer before getting infected an have him actually saving his family when it does, then show it all start to unravel an him becoming the monster, screw the family house stuff it is lame, from there maybe have a family of viralwolves, maybe they could be held up in the house of the viralwolves, an somehow they still gotta survive that even tho the family of viral wolves knows the house in & out, maybe it could lead to some crazy cave adding to the lore with some kind of lab or something crazy below, idk something anything would have been better & more interesting than what we got my god. Yes the location and some of the shots looked decent, the werewolve design was terrible but not the worst aspect, what ruined this one was the story, dialog an pacing, it put people to sleep in the theater, I almost went out at least once, we had a pretty packed theater an a lot of women, nobody in the theater had a reaction even once! Not even 1 dang time, at the end everyone looked bored an miserable, man these blumhouse movies are really going down the crapper, even since Halloween ends, just 1 bad half azzed flick after another.

The dialogues are just so stilted and artificial. It’s hard to care for characters who act and talk like no humans you know.
It's a niche film. It's not my cup of tea.
