People are so critical. I enjoyed this movie very much. Yes they missed on a few opportunities but overall, it helped me escape real life for 90 minutes and look forward to seeing it again.
I saw it today, and I feel it's pretty good! It did a good job getting the message across of the tragedy, and becoming what you're shielding loved ones from, it's a pretty good, but sad movie. Great review though!
This is an official bomb at this point. Blumhouse did what they do best which is toss a little $$ at something with the usual mediocre result. The early reviews were “great” and “a unique take” bla, bla, bla. Thankfully your average moviegoers are learning when to spot a turd and they stayed away from this one. After a banger of excellent horror movies in 2024 we don’t need crap like this to be pushed by the studios (with the help of bought and paid for reviewers) to trick people into buying seats. (yes folks- this happens a LOT) Thank goodness folks saw the they the BS and said, “not again” and we’ll wait for an actual good movie.
I saw it at a screening and like most people walked away thinking it "meh". Underdeveloped characters, weird logic issues, creature design, etc. all played into my reaction. You touched on it, but I would have preferred in the flashback to be a well-meaning father just telling the son not to ever come back to this place for his own good instead of the generational trauma BS they put on it.
Just a reminder that the universal monsters DVDs the single disc ones there were a lot of them made and for a while there at least they were coming into the thrift shops pretty regularly. If I remember right they were also thick discs so they could get a few marks on them and still play.
This review has pretty much confirmed my worst fears about Wolfman. I was sorta hoping it would stick a little more to the fun monster flick side things. Also, I was pretty worried about any potential underlying message being botched because it seems like a lot of movies don’t really handle that type of thing well nowadays. I’m still looking forward to seeing it, but.. it might be bummer
They have to build character depth if you really want us to feel for the characters. A lot of pointless moments in the movie. Nothing build up. Just a man changing into a wolf
I liked the movie, was a different take. I thought the transformation was more real world realistic in all honesty. The mother and daughter did a piss poor job acting though. I felt alot more emotion was needed but whatever. Practical effects were nice.
I thought the Del Toro Wolfman movie had potential. It just had that horrible plodding between the Wolf scenes. The Wolf scenes were superb. Effects were top notch, the fight at the end was great. It was the story that squelched it. We need the classic monsters done like that. I do have hope for Frankenstein and (gulp) the Creature from the Black Lagoon my personal favorite
Actually the father and daughter relationship is perfect...but the working mother seeing this relationship, doesn't like it and it causes a strain for her
I think we can all assume he meant “Frankenstein’s monster” in the movie… Frankenstein. lol but you don’t need to be a monster expert to think this movie is bad.
The disease aspect sounds like what they did in An American Werewolf in London. That is a classic and I highly recommend it. I have no interest in going to watch Wolf Man. But thanks for watching and reviewing.

This looks like the kind of movie that’ll be free on streaming services 30 to 60 days after it hits theaters
Just left theater, this film is awful.

Leigh: I love the Fly!
Universal: Yes but this is a werewolf movie.
Leigh: Sure. “Wolf” man.
Alternative ending: Universal: Get out.

I really liked this movie! Scary and beautifully shot.
I thought it was great, it’s just not a werewolf movie but it had all the thrills and suspense that I enjoy.
Most Boring movie ever... How do you come off The Invisible Man too this?!... I think the Universal Monsters maybe Dead again!

GOOD MOVIE 🎬 JUST LEFT THE THEATER
I walked out on this movie. It was horrible

As soon as you explained the "generaltional trauma"...i knew it... couldn't be more of Blumhouse movie without that 😂
Great review, although I disagree on the Invisible man remake they did being good. Sorry I thought it was pretty bad with good intentions.

This isn’t wolf man. Just like the invisible man.
They use the title but in no way do they actually stick to the characters or material
Finally, a real review and not someone shilling for Outhouse
🐺🐺🐺
The invisible man was absolutely horribe. Hopefully this bad as well.
You must have watched the wrong movie. Invisible man is solid.
Sounds cringey.
Let me guess werewolf is basically supposed to be abusive Father/Husband and the fix is to leave bad man?

He believes Frankenstein is a universal monsters? I would say he is a knowledgeable person about the monsters😂😂
He didn't mention Leigh Whannell writing and starring in the original SAW and most of the Insidious movies. That's strange.

False advertising. Not a wolf man movie. A few good ideas but no depth. Still found boring parts.
Amazing movie
I thought they were leaving the man hate in 2024..Oh well.

The transformations in “An American Werewolf in London” were the result of a curse, not a disease/infection.
AWIL is a terrible film.
Absolutely terrible. It has ONE good scene where he transforms and that’s it.
