I constantly switch decal designs on my car these days so finding a good product like the rapid remover and this video which explains how to use it properly has helped me MAJOR!
Awesome! Always love to hear that. It works really well especially if your decals are not super old and sun baked on. Glad you found the video helpful :)
@@WindowsAndWheelsDetailing I just removed these stickers myself. But I used 3M 38984 Adhesive Remover. Spray on, wait 2 minutes, and all the glue just wipes off. Repeat about 4 times and the whole thing is removed with zero -- and I mean zero -- scraping, and no residue. That is a commercial adhesive remover and it literally dissolves the glue.
Dawn dish soap in scalding water, stiff bristle plastic household brush. I just took the adhesive off from a dealer sticker in just over a minute. I guess it’s stuck to the brush now better that than my 4x4.
I removed the dealer sticker that had been on about two months (nowhere near that big) with my thumbnail one night after a couple drinks I was tired of advertising for free. Left the adhesive for a month and watched a couple videos suggesting solvents and cleaners. I put some dawn dishwashing liquid in some hot water. Not boiling but definitely scalding. Used a stiff bristle plastic scrub brush. Most would see it as a kitchen scrubber or bathroom. House hold for sure. I bought a two pack and used the first as a nail brush. I’m a carpenter so for me it’s a nail brush. I had that adhesive off in just over a minute. No doubt I removed any wax as well. Heat and water is the answer. Try it next time. And dawn dishwashing liquid don’t forget that.
Thanks for the video! I've never had to remove a decal from a car before, and this was just what I was looking for. CA recently changed my HOV decals, so I needed to safely remove the old ones before I could apply the new ones.
I am about to put these stickers on my vehicle here in Cali. You do not HAVE to put them on your vehicle, but it allows people to use the commuter lanes without needing two or more people. You end up paying $25 for these stickers and they are usually only for hybrids and EV like my Tesla. I agree they could just make it easy and put a sticker on the license plate but California always tries to get money out of you as much as they can and of course make it more complicated in the process. I absolutely will NOT put these stickers directly on the paint. I picked up some 3M film to put the stickers on and then put it on the car. That way I do not have to go though what you just did. They design those stickers so that if someone tries to steal them of course it leaves the void and it will show if someone is trying to use them on their car (not to mention they will need to use another adhesive).
I was wondering what the void was about. What do you mean you got 3M film? what does that do? I just want to put normal stickers on my car without deflating the resell value
They don't require the stickers to use the HOV lane. You can still use it, you'd just need other passengers. The sticker allows EV drivers to drive in that lane solo without getting a ticket. Basically, if you have an EV, you don't need to pay tolls for a few years.
Hey guys, do it yourself with krud kutter 32ounces $3.99 at Walmart and use plastic razors from ace hardware 5 pack $1.99. Patience and give yourself time. Prespray adhesive let sit for 15 minutes before scraping off. No scratches no buffing. Worked on my Tesla Model S
Use Orange power , Goo remover . Soak a sponge with it and sit the sponge on the goo for 5-10 minutes and it will simply wipe off . You may have to get creative on a panel like this and lean something against it to hold the sponge in place .
I need a video on how to remove a parking sticker from the back inside window with defrosting lines. A razor blade will damage the defrost lines. What is the best way?
I need some advice! I had two different types of decals on my van, one was a single layer plastic that I removed easily with the heat gun and then wiped with alcohol just like the ones in this video. But the other had three layers. The lettering had a silver boarder around a black centre. I now have brown hard plastic stuck to my paintwork and the alcohol doesn’t remove it. Any pearls of wisdom would be much appreciated 👍
subscribed!! I appreciate the realness haha "is this scratching the paint? YES" but of course we can polish after. I crack up with these people now a days washing their cars with broomsticks and putting all kinds of things to their paint in circular motions telling us not to worry that "it wont swirl" come on people -_-
aigomorla as long as its not left to set or heated/used in the sun it won’t do any harm. Even then it wouldn’t “strip” it, but it definitely could stain or discolor it.
It would depend how old they are. They’re likely just applied with a double stick adhesive, the problem is if they’re really old even if you get the rhinestones off there will be glue left behind and plastic is way more finicky when it comes to chemicals being used on it to remove the left over glue.
I have a house window the prior owner put a decorative sticker over the window to block the sun from entering the house. The sticker is hard to remove from the glass. Does that Turtle-Wax Sticker Remover work good? The sticker has been on the window for a few years. It got sun burnt. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Ah okay that's not actually hard at all! (I just bought a car and I need to put one of those 'learning stick shift' stickers on cause I live in heartless denver ahaha)
@@WindowsAndWheelsDetailing yup! I just stalled on an uphill (about 60°) and I saved it yeah but I had to floor it cause my neighbors don't anticipate the roll I feel this will keep people from being reckless due to impatience
Too much work. See the video using the hair dryer, stickers peel right off with little effort, leaving nothing on the car, just need to use some adhesive remover for some of the sticker left on the car. I removed all the stickers in about ten minutes.
I guess I’m very skilled 💪🏽 .. boil water in a kettle or anything, then spray the sticker with the hot water . Then get the right angle and your fine with any real steel razor blade. Your welcome :) ..
I’ve used those. Sometimes they’re not bad...make a big mess though and kind of aggressive on the paint, but a good alternative option for anyone wanting to try something else.
John G. Hill that didn’t make any sense! However, I’m originally from southern Cali. Speaking from experience, the place is a shithole!! Over regulated, high taxes, goods/food super expensive, real estate prices through the roof, illegals everywhere, homeless population busting at the seams, the list goes on and on!! Stay if you want, I don’t care. I don’t live in shitholes!!
For a living? No, we usually apply them more than remove them. If you like WD40, great....go for it. This is the method we’ve found to be safest /easiest for us.

Never understood why ppl put stupid stickers on their cars
BTW, this DOES work. Never would have thought of the plastic razor blades.
John G. Hill they really come in handy for stuff like this or when we remove badges and have to remove the double stick tape.
Can't hear the second half of the video.
As always thanks for sharing!
This worked perfectly on my used tesla.

wont that adhesive remover also strip the clear coat?

Those stickers are only if you want to drive your ev in the carpool lane with only the driver aboard.
What about if you are trying to prevent theft of the HOV stickers but not ruin the paint on your car?
cherieamoreparis you can’t steal these things lol

Is this even legal what your doing removing that sticker?
Yes…the sticker is for Cali. The car is now in Az with the new owner.
You'd think not having the sticker on your car would be enough to "void" it. lol
How about at 4:40 you just use a paper towel....?
Yup, you sure can.
Just use Goof Off!

Who would put these stickers on the paint.....
Its required in California
Work on with eye protector. Safety first.
