    Thank you! My daughter has Spina Bifida and uses a wheelchair for long distances. This is very helpful for our planning trip this fall!

    Thanks so much for doing this video. My family has been wanting to go to Disneyworld with my young daughter but we've put it off because of my spinal injury and fibromyalgia. I have 1/4th the energy of a healthy adult and become easily overwhelmed due to my constant pain. It's so good to know options are available. Also excellent to know about the wheelchairs. I think I'll arrange to rent one outside the park. Many thanks and much appreciation!!! ✌❤😊

    Can you please make the more in-depth videos for each park?

      Yup! I wanted to vlog some of them but I didn't end up moving back to Florida. I will do some filming next time I'm visiting friends down there so I don't miss any important stuff they've added since I left

    I'm on a disability pension and live in Australia, since my income is just below the poverty line I'll probably never get to go to Disneyland. It costs thousands of dollars in airfares and stuff to get from here to America. But maybe one day I might be able to go, you never know!
    I have been to all the theme parks on the Gold Coast though :D for the queues I just sit on the ground, I get some funny looks, but I'm pretty used to it now.

    How did you attach the pirate flags to your electric wheelchair? I broke my leg and I'll be using one while I'm there. Looking for any tips and the flags sounds like. A great one. Thank you

    For Service Dogs, do they include a list of rides/attractions it's just not possible to safely take the dog on? I mean, I know there's some that are obvious (rollercoasters), but when I finally get to go, I'd like to know I can be prepared to either not go on some things, or have whoever I'm with hold onto my SD while I go on.

      RayRay Risin I kind of want to know the same thing. But I don't think I would take my dog on any ride but the tram. I wonder if they have people that could show us around the park and hold the dog while I'm on the rides.

    • @LaPetiteMorteRisin
      @LaPetiteMorteRisin 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I get that. Though holding my dog would be one reason I wouldn't go alone XD Wouldn't want to trouble any cast members with that. I wouldn't intend on taking my girl on anything rougher than a car ride or something, but I can't really be apart from her (or whoever I'm with if they know what to do to help me) for more than maybe 5 minutes when out in public, so I'd need to know what I can actually do at the park ith her in tow.

      RayRay Risin I can honestly only think of a show or The Magic Kingdom cable cars. My dog is a seeing eye dog. My only issue would be trusting the person I leave her with when I get on a roller coaster. But I am going to research this soon as my family will be going to a to a theme park soon.

      If you do a search on the Disney park website, they will have a page that lets you know if service dogs are good, at the handlers discretion, or not allowed for their safety.

    Why would anyone spend the money in college to get a Disney degree? That, to me, seems like a huge monetary waste.

    I would love to go to the DCP and apply in August, but I am scared cause I have a rare form of gout where I have flares after so many hours on my feet where my ankles and knees swell up. I also have flare ups every so often in my elbows and shoulders. How do you go about telling this to DCP recruiter or do you not disclose this and hope the flare ups don't stop your job?

      +Jacob Woodring I'm in the same boat, I don't have the same illness as you but they seem similar. I'm worried about how my body will react and what I'm supposed to do when my body does inevitably react poorly. If you do it, let me know?

      Ah sorry I never check this account! Ok so during the interview with a recruiter they'll ask if you can "preform all of the required duties of the role including standing for long periods of time with reasonable accommodation" so that is a good time to bring it up if you'd like to but you are not required by law to give them that information. If you're offered the role and accepted it and got all of your tax forms done you'll have to option of submit a disability or religious accommodation. I would advise getting that form in as early as possible AND have your doctor be as specific as possible when filling it out. I got denied accommodations (a stool- this was pre-wheelchair) because my doctor used the word "standing" instead of "standing and walking" in reference to how I pass out when I'm in a vertical position and it took MONTHS to get that through.

    When I was in college, I was offered the DCP job twice, but had to decline for financial and personal reasons. Always been a dream of mine to work at WDW for Disney (and still is)! Since my college days, a couple years ago (post-college) I was diagnosed with a condition that does affect my mobility greatly. What kind of cast member roles are available for someone who needs to be in a wheelchair all the time? By the way, I would prefer a job in tech or on the computer...what department at WDW should I talk to first? Great video!

    I read that you don't a DAS if you are in a mobile scooter or wheelchair. If you don't a DAS will your wheelchair fit in the normal line queue or if the line queue is too narrow,Is there a special section that is wheelchair accessible. My sister can't physically stand up for more than 10 minutes but can walk up to the ride so it would great if the was a separate handicapped section I could wheel her through
