- HEY DUDES. I'm Samantha and I'm now on the TH-cam! It's so nice to meet you! I'm an actor, advocate, an activist, and I happen to be deafblind (hard of hearing and progressively legally blind.) Now, I make videos.

This was a great video! You did a fantastic job even though you were nervous. I really hope you make more videos. I am legally blind, and I use my hearing so much, so I am really interested in what it’s like for people who are deaf blind

Excellent pep talk! 5 years ago illness, within hours, changed my life. I woke with visual and hearing deficits. where I live, there is NO support, NO understanding, and ignorance. You just made my day better

I'm Visually Impaired as well. I was born with an eye disease called Retinopathy Of Prematurity, I was also born at 24 weeks early and my early birth in 1994 is what caused it. I also have a joint destroying disease called Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. I have a long history of disabilities as well.
In January of 2018 I got an Iritis in both eyes as well.

We need more of this..... When I went searching for answers and understanding, I couldn't find anything other than macular degeneration. This was a definite inspiration because I was first told I had "cone shaped cornea's(i sooo can't say the medical term right, nor spell it)" but was later told I have cone dystrophy but my cornea's are still cone shaped. I understand the old film filter and pixelation.... keep this going and inspire more of us!!!
Great video. Been legally blind my whole life just now getting into the TH-cam blind community been on TH-cam for years watching videos but never looked up any visually impaired youtubers until now. Really enjoyed your video I liked how nervous you were as weird as that might seem made it come across as very genuine

Enjoying the video :) Wondering where this support community is???? You are very fortunate to have one. Isolation of a shut-in just makes everything harder. Utube has been best for learning to function with sight loss.

I understand that feeling, all my life I had perfect vision, I didn't need glasses or anything, overnight I began to lose vision in one eye, due to illness, it's hard, but life goes on

Hey Steven it's called Retinitis Pigmentosa.
If you follow Molly Burke she talks about it on her channel. She was diagnosed at age 4 and she went blind at age 14.

I like your channel I have glaucoma in both eyes and it can be a progressive eye condition. I am also a TH-camr and the channel is about my eye condition. The channel is called All About glaucoma and I educate people on my eye condition or helping other people with glaucoma.
