    Never be embarrassed about having to use a scooter. It's there for comfort and to help someone's ease of a normal lifestyle. So glad you posted this because I had no idea this was offered. A day at Disney would be hell on someone with a bad back or leg issues. I gained a new respect for Disney because of this vid.

      Yes it is easy to get around.. I rented one this last time and didn't use it all of the time but it did help from being so tired.. Lori and I both used it..

    I rented a scooter last yr at the NYS Fair. It made the biggest difference. I need both hips replaced & can't walk well. I was a little embarrassed at having to use it but got over that FAST.

    Thanks for sharing. I just had knee surgery and was nervous and a bit embarrassed about having to rent a scooter. I was considering just trying to tough it out, but you’ve convinced me that it’s worth it.

    I just got back Walt Disney World and used Scooter Bug as well. It made all the difference. Mine also had a tube for an umbrella you can rent that I could store my staff or umbrella in as well. I have arthritis in my knees and back and usually my knees would swell and seize up and my back hurt after a couple of steps. I had fun each and every day. The Disney employees are wonderful and after I got over the embarrassment I felt so blessed.

      Lisa, I am so glad that worked out for you.. After my surgery it was God send to have the electric cart and actually after I got the hang of it. It was fun to drive though Disney in an electric cart brought me back to my childhood of wanting to drive.. I didn't know about it until after about the 3rd day I was there so I thought others would want to know how easy it was.. That is why I made the video.. Glad it helped.. God Bless You, Spa Guy

    Thank you for the video. I had surgery on my foot April 4, 2018 and developed a bone infection soon after. I am 4 months post-op, but still no closer to being able to walk. My family's Disney trip is in less than 2 months and I have been desperately researching ways to get around Disney and still be able to enjoy my vacation.

    Once in the park, if you visit a store or a ride or attraction, do they have an area outside each attraction where you can park your scooter and avoid it being messed with or moved etc while you go inside to enjoy the attraction or store?

    Thank you so very much for the video! I will be requiring a scooter after having both knees replaced in the last 6 months. I was dreading this but I can see it isn't going to be that bad. I have 2 adults and a small child traveling with me and was wondering if they are able to go with me through gates (like when you entered the park) or do they have to go through someplace else and leave me? I have contacted Scooterbug as per your recommendation so reservations have been made. Thank you!

    You don't have to stay at a Disney resort to have a rental scooter for your vacation. I stayed at a rental home in Florida they delivered it to my rental home and my son loaded it every day into my suburban and I road it all day and night and we loaded it and took it back to the house and charged it overnight. Make sure you get the extended life battery so you shouldn't have to charge it while you visit the parks. Also best to go to guest services when you enter any park and have them give you a handicap card so you can enter rides through handicap without issue. Not all employees will give you issues but some will so it's best to have one of those cards. And I am younger than you and have to ride a scooter when we do things like Disney so I understand the embarrassment part very well. But I have severe back issues and after i walk for a short time my leg starts to fatigue and doesn't work well so i start to fall.

    I was just wondering if the seats were adjustable. The last time I rented a scooter When we took my son somewhere For school vacation the seat Was not up high enough and my back was hurting Because my legs were crunched together. Also The handlebars were way up too high and it bothered my carpal tunnel.

    Thank you very very much for your video I have mild cerebral palsy I am contemplating renting one of these I was wondering what to do with the scooter if I got a room on a second floor of the same resort you seemed to have stayed at. I have a silly questions for you was the seat comfortable enough to be in all day? did you find it hard to “drive “ ? I’m so afraid to run into people ... thanks again for your help Please don’t feel embarrassed

    • @SpaGuy
      @SpaGuy  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I did have a room on the second floor and kept it on the first floor plugged in to charge.. It is easy to drive and very comfortable.. The last time we went I am walking much better but rented one anyway so I would not be so tired from walking all day and ti was a pleasant experience.. The hardest part is on and off the bus but the drivers will help you..

      If you're staying at a Disney hotel, call them and let them know you're renting a scooter. They may have a room that is more accommodating of the scooter.

    I own and use a scooter for shopping ever since I lost my right kidney in 2006, I just get so weak from walking. I tried for a long time not to use one, but after an hour of shopping my legs would just give out, and i hit the floor. Then everyone wants to call 911! I had to start using it or just not leave home.
    I want to go to Disney World soon but Im worried I will not be able to get on rides. Can you use the rented scooter to go through the lines, and then get on the ride? I can get off and on fine, its just the long waiting or walking that I cant do. Are there places along the way where you can exchange the scooter for one with good charge? Is there a key you can take with you when you get off the scooter, so someone cant ride off with it? Are there places you are not allowed to go with a scooter?

    • @SpaGuy
      @SpaGuy  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sharon, My experience was I could get in most lines on the scooter and ride it right up to where you got on the ride and they would position it at the exit so it was there for you to get back on.. I had just had back surgery so I was still relatively mobile.. Yes you can keep the key so it cannot be stolen and they provide places to park out there are well for instance if you go in a restaurant there is outside parking.. I think you may be able to ride inside the restaurants but I think that would be limited.. I walked into them so I am not sure.. It enabled me to be able to go when otherwise no way I could because I could not walk that far.. Thanks, Spa Guy

    I'm looking to have to rent a scooter this trip and I am totally dreading it because of the Disney transportation. We are going to be there at Christmas the busiest time of the year and I'm wondering how much of a headache that will be. After using it for your whole trip how would you some up the over all experience? I'm considering going with a portable one so that we can drive to the parks rather than use the transportation.

    • @SpaGuy
      @SpaGuy  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I thought the Disney Transportation was excellent and easy with the
      scooter.. In fact I wish I had known about it sooner that's why I made
      this video so others could see how easy it was.. They flip the ramp down
      you drive on they flip it down you drive off.. Simple and affordable..

      Spa Guy well that's really good to know. Do they require you to move from your scooter to a seat? On some of the other videos I saw it look like they almost required them to parallel park the scooter I can't do that in a car very well so I couldn't imagine being able to do it in the scooter at all. I do appreciate you so much posting video it has been helpful.

    • @SpaGuy
      @SpaGuy  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes they do require you to get off the scooter into a seat but are very helpful when parking and try to make it easy for you.. I got good at parking but saw a few people hit everything in the bus... Spa Guy

    I hate how most of the people riding these are just people who don’t want to walk, it takes 20 min to get one scooter on the bus it sucks because everybody needs to wait while 2 flicking scooters are being loaded on the bus. One rammed my moms back while loading and didn’t care just drove away

    • @SpaGuy
      @SpaGuy  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They have cut down on that for the most part because it does not put the rider at the front of the line anymore.. My experience was not that at all.. The bus pulled up dropped the ramp I went in parked move to a seat he strapped it down the people loaded and we were off..

    • @alicat2507
      @alicat2507 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I disagree riding with this behind people makes you anxious.
      Frequent sudden stops puts a lot on your body depending condition, it's not like you have a track for your own. Who makes the decision to ride this it's probably because they really need it. I needed but are debating about it. Think I rather make lots of rest between walks until my body could deliver.

      Yovi Games, Many Disabilities are not obvious, and many people are overweight Because they have a disability! It’s not our place to judge! I would need to use a scooter to get around Disney World, but I don’t use one normally! I would park it, to get in line for ride because I can handle lines, just not walking around an enormous amusement parks in high temperatures! It’s not just not laziness for me: I have Hypothyroidism, on the Autism Spectrum (This can make you VERY Clumsy and awkward, meltdowns are not an issue with me, I just get tired easily) I have Tachycardia and for the last year I’ve been Anemic. None of this is visible or obvious until I have to walk further than a quarter mile!

      I am pretty good at walking around some places but lately the back of my legs when I walk more than a few minutes I've been on fire I'm probably going to rent one of these when I go to Disney the price doesn't bug me as long as my legs don't wind up wanting to fall off by the end of the night
