Mr Hickok, I’ve been watching your videos since the age of 10, I am nearly 24, am married, and have recently become a father. thank you for the knowledge you’ve shared throughout the years.
I am 26 I am here with my daughter asleep in my chest watching these videos in the TV. Getting her used to the videos she'll see in the TV till she moves out
I like the 6.8 too. I've had one for about 10 years now. A fun target that shatters into pieces is a salt block, the kind used for live stock. You can leave the pieces on the ground, and deer and other critters will eat it. It might cost more than cinder blocks though.
Just to clear up some confusion I see in the comment section, the same confusion I used to have. The 6.8 spc is not the same as what the military is using. The new military round is 6.8x51 and is also called the .277 fury. The 6.8 spc is 6.8x43.
Thanks. It's a trade-off. A lapel mic gives more consistent voice levels, but it doesn't capture all the ambient sounds, such as gunfire, as naturally.
Unfortunately it's only more versatile within 500 yards. It's also been made obsolete by 300 Blackout at close range, and 6.5 Grendel/6mm ARC at long range
.300 blk is good at close range, and even has been adopted by a few groups, and the grendel was designed for long range, i think the 6.8 spc is more a general purpose round.
@@ahwwg56not true about 300BO making it obsolete lol 6.8 carries more energy by far especially out at 3-500 yards lol I have both only thing 300BO has going for it is it's suppress ability 6.8 is by far a more superior round from the tests I've done with mine barrier penetration and ballistics and both have 16 inch barrels 125 grain 300BO 115 grain 6.8 spc both have their rolls for sure my 300BO I'm waiting on my SBR stamp for and my can for it as well
I've got a 6.8spc AR-15, and that thing is a beast. As far as defense, I think the 6.8 is better than the 556. Ammo is a little expensive, but very nice rifle.
Correct. 50% more energy on target. More importantly is the heavy momentum, which is what hits the target is a lot higher. Mass x velocity. The bullet is on average twice as big, while having 90% of the speed in a 16 inch barrel.
As it at least looks like our Country is heading towards some type of War either World War or Civil it would be Awesome to have people such as yourself schooling people on the art of re-loads. Just a thought God Bless You and your Family. ☝️🇺🇸🙏
Im so glad that hickok45 is a fan of the 6.8 spc. Not a .223, not a .308, somewhere in between, and faster than 7.62x39, a round with similar energy that he also loves. If you watch his videos you can tell this gun hits the targets with noticeably more oomph than 5.56.
@davefunk135 The suppressor still reduces the noise a big amount, normally its ear-splitting loud but with a suppressor it makes the shot softer and quieter. You can see he often shoots it with no hearing protection. Its still super loud, but much quieter than normal. Now, subsonic + suppressed, thats ultimate quietness.
Always great shooting! I have a couple Primary Arms prism scopes with the etched reticle. They are new to me too but so far I’m liking them. Nice and clear even with my astigmatism. Plus if the battery fails when I need it, still got the etched reticle and can shoot. So kinda cool that way.
That does look really good. Love that handguard. I’m taking my 6.8 out this coming Saturday on a deer hunt. Figured I’d see how I like carrying an AR platform rifle up and down some draws in southern Idaho.
Pretty bad ass set up! There's things you modify and thing you leave alone. All the AR platforms are that. You just wouldn't trick out a Garand or M1A. It's fun to make them yours though!
I built a 6.8spc with the v2 chamber... I absolutely love the round. It is far superior to 556 in every way. I reload for it too, which makes it an even better experience for me..
@@robbledot7290 did you write it? Because it wasn't written as sarcasm. And surely doesn't read that way. DOD actually put out a papers trying to replace the 556 ever since Vietnam. Obviously .308 doesn't work for an every man rifle. and they want something in between.
The military has moved to the 6.8 instead of the 556. It does have more punch than the 556. In Vietnam the 556 was worth a shit in jungle war fare. It could hit a twig and no telling well the round would go. Here the opposition was firing 7.62x39 and they were shooting through trees at us. Hard to hide from fire power like that. Best gun we had was the m60. Now that was a bad ass. That thing would mow down everything in its path. The way the world is getting, you might want to pick up one of these bad boys. The military will have plenty of ammo to run it. Have a great day 😀. Peace 🙏
6.8SPC is the round you need, its accurate, hits like a train, much better than .556, I buy everyone I can find , even though ammo is tough to source, buy when you can.
I have a question about A colt army special 41 revolver. Is the 38 special ammo compatible or is the gun ONLY able to fire 41 caliber rounds????? Like how a 357 revolver can fire the 38 special ammo. I have called around local arms dealers no one has a answer. The colt 41 is dated back in the 1880s- 1905

Love my LWRC PSD chambered in 6.8 SPC. It’s going on 6k rounds without a single malfunction suppressed and unsuppressed.

I think the LWRC products are the top of the line firearms bordering on mechanical works of art.
Literally best in the game IMO seeing all the technology into it and parts are best of the best.

Yes and no. There are units of special command guy that rock the 6.8spc. The round was developed by their request.
This channel has the best sounding gun shots on TH-cam!!! I love the sound of every shot on this range!!!

LWRC makes some of the highest quality components in the firearm's industry.
Hadn't caught one of your vids in a long time very nostalgic glad you still at it
I trust it's because you were in prison with no Internet access? :-)
Love the 6.8SPC! More versatile than the 5.56 in many ways. It's become one of my favorite deer hunting rounds.

Yeah, I should start every video by doing that, as I do in all the Big Game Hunt videos.

Such a nice rifle and round. Shame it died. I think DOD should have adopted it to replace 5.56
