I could devour two plates of those without any problem; but then, I have to switch to a vegetarian diet for two days. Athens is so wildly interesting and special; I can't put it into words well, but there's an intricate atmosphere of some sort that I cannot compare to any other city of Europe. I'm going back (hopefully) this October for a week! So excited.
I suggest you explore more than just the few square kilometers, where most tourists go. You can take the metro (line 1), go to the Athens Mall, check out the Olympic games area, see the suburbs, tavel to Piraeus, take the Tram and go to Voula, along the Poseidon avenue, visit the Poseidon temple.... The sunset there is one of a kind.

You should know that Freddo is the best seller coffee right now in Greece. Frappe was 15 years ago. Try freddo which is cold espresso (greek "invention") . You can see everyone in the streets or cafes drinking this

you a Greek-aussie? My grandfather was in Australia for 25 years and my father too until his 9 years of age. I now am in Greece but i plan on coming to Australia Melbourne since I have relatives there!
I will be in Athens a week from now. I am quite anxious and excited. I just thought that this is the best time to visit Greece since most of the tourist attractions are almost empty especially the cyclades, as long as you are taking necessary precautions.
@@georgek5737 I am now back in Toronto but my heart left in Greece. It was an amazing experience. Everything went pretty well and people are so nice and food were delish. The islands weren't very crowded as expected but in Santorini was quite busy, although i was told that the number of tourists at that time was only 40% than usual. So i can't imagine how crowded it is before Covid. I was in Athens, Delphi, Meteora, Hydra, Syros, Mykonos and of course Santorini. Face mask was required on public transportation, indoor shops and museums. I think the tourism in the mainland is the most affected. In Delphi and Meteora there only 3 tourist buses including ours and the hotel (Grand Meteora Hotel) we stayed at was almost empty. On the street everything seems pretty normal to me but the situation could change quickly. Cheers!

@@vimalmech2986 Hi, I am not sure if there's some changes since. 2 days before your flight you need to fill out the PLF (Personal Locator Form) from Greek government website. You will receive the QR Code on the day of your flight. If you don't have the QR Code the airline will not let you board your flight. Upon arrival they conduct random testing but if they are not busy they will swab test everyone. In case your result is positive, the health department will contact you to quarantine. If the rule didn't change, the Greek government will shoulder the cost of your quarantine or hospitalization. Some countries are required to bring negative covid test (PRC) result within 72 hours. Great first episode.. You guys should definitely leave the center and explore other neighborhoods.. Try the Athenian Riviera! From Palio Faliro all the way to Sounio bay. Lots of beaches, restaurants, marinas and even Poseidon temple .. It's the place to be in the summer since you're in Athens..(Places to visit Alimos, Glifada, Voula- Vouliagmeni-Varkiza.. And it goes on and on.. 😊

Hi guys, as an Athenian, I would recommend you guys visit some of the "good" areas (I guess that's what you'd call them) like glyfada, voula, varkiza, definitely visit lake vouliagmeni and kavouri beach
@@LukeMartin and try to find spots that are not made for tourists. These foods might have tasted good but there are other "hidden" spots for locals that cook them much tastier. Love from Greece.

Amazing videos guys! Everything looks so tasty. You are not supposed to drink the foam from the frape. You just have to enjoy that coffee slowly, adding a bit of additional cold water at times, stirring with the straw. Some people can spend hours just chatting and enjoying a frape.

so lucky you guys could make it to greece, i was saving to go there this year but due to corona and the corrupt goverment of panama i had to spend all my savings surviving here, miss my second country a lot but this video helps me :)

OMG you totally killed me with Greek music and lamb chops. Will you also visit the islands or just Athens? If you ever go to Crete, I recommend Vasillis Tavern in Falasarna, that place has the best dakos salad I ever ate.

i just recently watched your old video from 2 years ago the last time you were in Greece. you said the greek yougurt was presented kinda sloppily, but its practically exactly the same. Those berries are black berries by the way. i love them they are edible, havent had them for ages
Believe me, those berries are definitely not blackberries. Those are mulberries. I love to eat them. My favourite is the white variant. The white ones are more sweet. I do love the red and the black ones as well.
As a local I must say you chose the restaurants very well! Not very touristy and cool choices too. I mean the yoghurt with honey and walnuts is such a classic greek sweet but mainly of the previous generation. The koulouri shop! So cool that you found that! Next time try the 'loukoumas' which is a greek donut basically. When fresh it's divine. Yiasemi cafe is usually crowded and with so few tables I end up somewhere else. Love that you chose to film the Agora and not the Acropolis. Overall, compared to similar videos that I usually find annoying, yours was good! Kudos! Btw you could have eaten that mullberry! They grow wild and are very nutritious!

Yeah that's berries and totally edible. The plant leaves is food for silkworm. In North West India it is found alot. The branches are used to make heavy duty baskets. Enjoyed this vlog too.

I'm also lactose intolerant but there's a lot you can do to still be able to eat dairy

Hi guys, as an Athenian, I would recommend you guys visit some of the "good" areas (I guess that's what you'd call them) like glyfada, voula, varkiza, definitely visit lake vouliagmeni and kavouri beach

Amazing videos guys! Everything looks so tasty. You are not supposed to drink the foam from the frape. You just have to enjoy that coffee slowly, adding a bit of additional cold water at times, stirring with the straw. Some people can spend hours just chatting and enjoying a frape.

i just recently watched your old video from 2 years ago the last time you were in Greece. you said the greek yougurt was presented kinda sloppily, but its practically exactly the same. Those berries are black berries by the way. i love them they are edible, havent had them for ages
Believe me, those berries are definitely not blackberries. Those are mulberries. I love to eat them. My favourite is the white variant. The white ones are more sweet. I do love the red and the black ones as well.
When it shows the resturants of course they get more popular this also a good thing
you went again in athens. If you want to try traditional and different recipes (not easily found in the capital), you should travel allover Greece
As a local I must say you chose the restaurants very well! Not very touristy and cool choices too. I mean the yoghurt with honey and walnuts is such a classic greek sweet but mainly of the previous generation. The koulouri shop! So cool that you found that! Next time try the 'loukoumas' which is a greek donut basically. When fresh it's divine. Yiasemi cafe is usually crowded and with so few tables I end up somewhere else. Love that you chose to film the Agora and not the Acropolis. Overall, compared to similar videos that I usually find annoying, yours was good! Kudos!
Btw you could have eaten that mullberry! They grow wild and are very nutritious!

Yeah that's berries and totally edible. The plant leaves is food for silkworm. In North West India it is found alot. The branches are used to make heavy duty baskets. Enjoyed this vlog too.
