    I love the reality that is posted here. I don't know how many times I look at a ball joint and say, "It's only three bolts and a castle nut; I can get that out easy!" Three hours later I'm just getting the first bolt out, lol. Keep it up! Well done.

    Great video, very detailed. The only problem I encountered was the long bolt. I spray everything two days and again a day before working on it with Kroil but after removing the nut, the bolt refused to move. I mushroomed two nuts, it did not move a fraction of a millimeter. I used air impact wrench from the other side like you suggested forward and backward and finally it moved a little, i sray more Kroil wait it a little more and it finally moved, that was the driver side. Passenger side; one hit and it was out. be prepare for that. The rest was a snap. Thanks again.

    Awesome video. You tackled that like it would happen in the real world..complete with difficulties, re-dos and "what ever it takes" advise. Now I know I can do it too.

    Great vid bro, everything was on point... I just did both lower ball joints on my 2013 Hyundai Tucson Limited, and I will emphasize that Penetrating Oil and HEAT 🔥 goes A LOOOOONG WAY!!! Makes things go a lot smoother and quicker. Just don’t melt those axle boots 😁

    Very informative. My 2012 Sonata GLS have a different shape control arm (sport suspension) , thus, it uses a different ball joint where the ball joint is mounted on top of the control arm. Nevertheless, the replacement and install is very similar.

      pinoyeh, I have a 2011 GLS and mine also mount on top. So weird in my opinion as I'm finding a lot of parts were changed when mine was assembled. Any idea what length your sway bar links are in the front?

      Yup i got the 2012 gls model too and i guess it has the sport suspension cuz mine also has the different ball joint(that mounts on top of the control arm for the sport suspension

    Good video, easy on a newer vehicle. But my seven years old Santa Fe is giving trouble. The pinch bolt is really rusted in solid. Trying all the rusty removal remedies but it's not budging.

    Do you have to do an alignment after replacing the lower ball joint? I just had an alignment done recently and they said one of the ball joints needed replacing. Apparently if they did the alignment first before replacing the ball joint, they’d have to do another alignment.

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Jaber Omayan Thanks for watching! It is not necessary to get an alignment done after replacing a ball joint unless you had one done when the ball joint was loose before.

  • @chuckdecarlo4456
    @chuckdecarlo4456 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    This was WAY harder than it needed to be. Just take the other mounting bolts out (2) of the lower control arm then remove the LCA. THEN you can bang on the ball joint- NO air tools needed.

    • @SolunaTUBE
      @SolunaTUBE 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      100% ..imo too Id just replace the whole LCA. Why screw with it. Much easier and you will have new bushings for the LCA.

    Mine has a ball joint but no two nuts. But the ball joint looks exactly like this. What do I do. There’s no top spindle cause the what looks like the rotor holder is encased in it

      No para nada. En ciertas partes de aquí de Estados Unidos donde predomina la herrumbre, la primera herramienta que se saca es el martillo más grande que se encuentre en el taller. Junto con el soplete de oxiacetileno
