  • The epic journey to find the source of the Ganges reaches the temple of Gangotri - the place where Hindus believe that Ganges first appeared on Earth. The river here is already wide and very powerful and fed by one of the Himalayas' largest glaciers. To reach the farthest extremity of the river, the determined few journey even higher.

All saints are holy. They don't belong to this community or that community. They are universal. They belong to all. So also all shrines & holy places. They are universal. They belong to all.

I hope that your opinions will be changed at least a little bit. you should understand that we are still a developing country we need some more time to reach the level that is considered normal, but India is getting there faster than any other developing country in the world.

      References:
      - Bhavishyapurana Parv 3 Khand 3 Adhyay 3 Shloka 5-8
      - Atharvaveda Book 20 Hymn 127 Mantra 1-14 (Narashansa means "praiseworthy" which is exactly the translation of the arabic word "Muhammad'.
      - Manusmriti Ch.11 V 202 ("REB" means "one who praises" which is the meaning of the other name of prophet Muhammad (pbuh) which is "Ahmad".
      - Atharvaveda Book 20 Hymn 21 mantra 6 (Battle of Ahzaab, it says that "he" will be protected from 10,000 enemies & he will win the battle without fighting it".
      - Atharvaveda Book 20 Hymn 21 mantra 7 ("Abandhu" means "praiseworthy" which is the translation of "Muhammad" in English.
      - Rigveda book 1 hymn 53 mantra 9
      - Samyeda Agni Mantra 64 ("he" will not be breastfeed by his mother. Prophet Muhammad was not breastfeed by his mother).
      - Samveda Uttararchika Mantra 1500
      - Samveda Indra Ch.2 Mantra 152

      - Atharvaveda Book 8 Hymn 5 Mantra 16
      - Atharvaveda Book 20 Hymn 26 Mantra 14 ("Narashansa" is combination of two words that is Near and Ashans. Nar means human being and Ashansh means "The praised ones" i.e. prophet Muhammad. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is prophesied as "Narashansa" in several places in the hindu scriptures.

      - Rigveda Book 1 Hymn 18 Mantra 9
      - Rigveda Book 1 Hymn 106 Mantra 4

      - Rigveda Book 7 Hymn 2 Mantra 2
      - Rigveda Book 10 Hymn 64 Mantra 3
      - Rigveda Book 10 Hymn 182 Mantra 2
      - Yajurveda Ch.20 V.37
      - Yajurveda Ch.21 V.31
      - Kalki Avtaar Bhagavata Purana Khand 12 Adhyay 2 Shloka 18-20
      I. Muhammad (pbuh) prophesised in Bhavishya Purana
According to Bhavishya Purana in the Prati Sarag Parv III Khand 3 Adhay 3 Shloka 5 to 8.
“A malecha (belonging to a foreign country and speaking a foreign language) spiritual teacher will appear with his companions. His name will be Mohammad. Raja (Bhoj) after giving this Maha Dev Arab (of angelic disposition) a bath in the Panchgavya and the Ganga water (i.e. purifying him of all sins) offered him the present of his sincere devotion and showing him all reverence said, “I make obeisance to thee. O ye! The pride of mankind, the dweller in Arabia, Ye have collected a great force to kill the Devil and you yourself have been protected from the malecha opponents.”
      The Prophecy clearly states:
The name of the Prophet as Mohammad.
He will belong to Arabia. The Sanskrit word Marusthal means a sandy track of land or a desert.
Special mention is made of the companions of the Prophet, i.e. the Sahabas. No other Prophet had as many companions as Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
He is referred as the pride of mankind (Parbatis nath). The Glorious Qur’an reconfirms this”And thou (standest) on an exalted standard of character”
      [Al-Qur’an 68:4]|
“Ye have indeed in the Messenger of Allah, a beautiful pattern (of conduct)”.
      [Al-Qur’an 33:21]
He will kill the devil, i.e. abolish idol worship and all sorts of vices.
The Prophet will be given protection against his enemy.
The Prophet did not physically take a bath in the Panchgavya and the water of Ganges. Since the water of Ganges is considered holy, taking bath in the Ganges is an idiom, which means washing away sins or immunity from all sorts of sins. Here the prophecy implies that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was sinless, i.e. Maasoom.
      2. Kalki Puran is one of the holy books of the Hindus. It is written in this book that the reason why this Prophet will be known as “Kalki” Avatar, is that he will remove Kalki (rust and darkness) from the hearts of the people, and will prevail over all the artifices of the evil people.
It is also written that people of his community will be worshippers of God.
      Kalki Purana Ch.2 Mantra 15:
The name of the father of Kalki Prophet is written as “Vishnuais” a combination of two words, Vishnu (God) and ais (Servant): both put together mean “Servant of God”. This is the meaning of Abdullah, the name of the father of Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.).
The name of Kalki Prophet's mother is “Somti” which means “Trustworthy”. And the name of Prophet Muhammad's (s.a.w.a.) mother was Amina, which also means “Trustworthy”.
The birth-place of Kalki Prophet is mentioned as “Shambhal Nagari”- a name given to the Hijaz in Arabia. “Shambhal” means, “Sand” and “Shambhal Nagri” means a country of sand or “desert” which fits Arabian peninsula perfectly.

And this one, the last of the four sacred sources of the Ganges, is the busiest and the most important temple of them all.
This is Gangotri, the place that Hindus believe the Ganges first appeared on Earth.
As a Goddess, Ganga originally watered the Gardens of Heaven, but Her purifying powers were needed on Earth to cleanse the ashes of the dead.
Ganga agreed to come to the aid of humankind, but the impact of Her descent would have destroyed the Earth; so, another god, Shiva, intervened.
At Gangotri He caught the falling river in His hair, cushioning Her arrival and channeling the flow into thousands of lesser streams.
The spectacular waterfall here is a very earthly reminder of that tumultuous descent.
But even Gangotri cannot be the true source either.
The river here is already wide and powerful; fed by one of the Himalaya's largest glaciers, higher up the valley.
Just a few hundred years ago that same glacier filled this valley; reaching right down to the village.
Now, in the face of rising temperatures, its retreated over twenty kilometres.
Only the most determined make the final journey up valley to the farthest extremity of the river.
Their destination is Gaumukh, the “Cow’s Mouth”, an ice cave from which flows a milky stream.
This cold and lonely place is considered by many to be the source of the Ganges.
For most pilgrims it's a fleeting visit; just time for a few prayers and a ritual bath in the frigid waters.
Yet even here, it is faith rather than geography, that is defining the source.
Higher still, up above the glacier there is more running water.
If the source of a river is the point farthest from the sea, then it’s here, in the meadows at Tapovan that the spiritual and geographic origins of the Ganges finally come together.
Surrounded and protected by the Mountain Gods, nowhere could better fitting as the birthplace of India’s holiest river.

Sadaashiva or Shiva is eternal and supreme personality of Godhead. But people mistake him to be lord Maheshwara. Both are completely different. Sadashiva is the eternal GOD. He is called Brahman. Also called Mahavishnu by vaishnavites and Shiva by shaivites. From Sadashiva was born Lord Vishnu and from vishnu was born Lord Brahma. From Brahma was born lord Maheshwara.
Lord Maheshwara is an avataara of Lord Sadashiva. The eternal Sadashiva is pure energy and worshipped also in a form of a linga (stone representation of God)

      - Rigveda book 1 hymn 53 mantra 9
      - Samyeda Agni Mantra 64 ("he" will not be breastfeed by his mother. Prophet Muhammad was not breastfeed by his mother).

    TRANSLATION
Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: My dear King, Lord Viṣṇu, the enjoyer of all sacrifices, appeared as Vāmanadeva in the sacrificial arena of Bali Mahārāja. Then He extended His left foot to the end of the universe and pierced a hole in its covering with the nail of His big toe. Through the hole, the pure water of the Causal Ocean entered this universe as the Ganges River.
Having washed the lotus feet of the Lord, which are covered with reddish powder, the water of the Ganges acquired a very beautiful pink color. Every living being can immediately purify his mind of material contamination by touching the transcendental water of the Ganges, yet its waters remain ever pure. Because the Ganges directly touches the lotus feet of the Lord before descending within this universe, she is known as Viṣṇupadī.
Later she received other names like Jāhnavī and Bhāgīrathī. After one thousand millenniums, the water of the Ganges descended on Dhruvaloka, the topmost planet in this universe. Therefore all learned sages and scholars proclaim Dhruvaloka to be Viṣṇupada [“situated on Lord Viṣṇu’s lotus feet”].

Yes Shiva took the force of the Ganga in his matter hair and then released it slowly. Kailas is the abode of Shiva. Kailas is in Tibet. You could imagine the snow flakes falling on Mt. Kailash, and the mountain holds those water in ice form. Then it releases the water slowly into the Manasarover lake. All important rivers that flows to India originates from Manasarover. The Indus rivers that flows from Tibet to Kashmir, and then to Punjab and Sindh originates from the holy Kailash, the abode of Shiva. A stream of water from Manasarover joins the Ganges too. The Brhmaputra originates at Manasarover, and floes east through Tibet and then into Assam and then Bengal. All these rivers are sacred to us because all of them originated from the abode of Shiva, Mount Kailash.

*1:08** Shiva is not just an another god. He's the God of God's (Mahadev) & consort of almighty energy (Shakti), he's Primordial Essence of everything & nothing, he's truth, existence, bliss, he's the all pervading consciousness & beyond infinity. He's omniscient, Omnipotent & omnipresent. He's infinite love, easily pleased, very approachable, childlike, forgives us & drinks the poison of our sins, he doesn't want anything for himself, he's detached from everything & he resides in heart of all beings. All words & adjectives are finite to explain Shiv.*
