Good guess! What do you think now that you know the truth? Shocked?

What brand and weight of fluid did you use for your front and back diff and transfer. My local auto part stores could not give me a answer so I went to Land rover and paid over $290.00 for 4 quarts of diff oil and 2 quarts of trans box oil

Wow, that's expensive. I went with Royal Purple 75W90 if I remember right. It was 29$ CAD per 1 quart.

@@canuckautoworks2809 Thanks that's good to know. Do you plan on doing a transmission filter change?.. Land Rover told me it start's at $1,000.00 and they would give me a price after I brought it in. I know they make a filter and pan separate not just the filter built into the pan. Land Rover told me they only use the filter that is built into the pan, so that means you would have to remove more things to do the job. So that means more shop hours.

@@paulinman2688 Yes, I will be doing the transmission flush next summer and will be changing the full pain with the filter on it - it's easy enough to do and doesn't take much time to be honest. The most time consuming thing is to do the filling process and the oil itself since it requires several quarts. The filling process require the car to be on and the oil has to stay at a certain temperature so that you don't underfill overfill... it's not fun to do :(
