So refreshing to have someone share the details of things like, fitting out the van, cost of items and places to spend time, like you do. You're a pioneer! Thanks for sharing. Love Tonka so much! He's such a happy little guy!
I started pretty much the same deal But wanted super strong bolted plates I drilled them to 3/8" Drilled into the actual SUV frame Added in Rivet nuts And bolted down the IKEA plates to the frame of the truck I have 3 beams which its 6ft long And about queen size bed overall....I wanted to be able to set up the bed Or partially take one beam out to have room to carry my Portable cooler/freezer which is too high ..Or fully out if i need to haul items (moving etc) So the Slats are on velco at the bottom They do not move around without a mattress And with a mattress the added weight They dont budge ether ...Screws for me would be a pain to do
Hi Leanne, I am so glad I found you on youtube. It seems we are on a parallel with sprinter van builds.I bought a Mercedes Sprinter cargo van. I am in the process of insulating and attaching walls with mine and already have the ikea mid beam and mounting brackets ready for my next stage. You kitchen is ideal, and I hope that it will fit in my layout, as I have a queen bed. For me with my back, I will be putting in draws as clothes storage under the bed, and I only wish I could crawl under with your set up. Keep up the good work. I like your lino and will be doing the same with mine, now I see how it is done. Thank you for your honesty and courage doing it on your own and sharing. I live in Brisbane, but will be traveling all over with my two dogs and sometimes my husband (he is not retired like me). Your tips on placed to visit have been inspiring and I hope to follow your footsteps soon. Cheers, Linda
HiYa Linda Thanks so much for your support and kind words its greatly appreciated. Just a tip- If you end up doing the Ikea kitchen bench, don't put the leveller screws in the bottom. I will be taking my kitchen out soon so can take them off. It leaves about a 1cm gap on the floor. I dropped a whole carton of eggs which ( 9 broke) leaked under the bench. Was hard to find something to get under the bench to clean it up. Safe travels and if you ever see me on the road, come say Hi 😁🌻🍹
@@OzzyVanLife Not broken eggs!! did they seep under the lino where the tear was as well ? Excellent tip removing the bottom screw. Would be wise to but silicone around the bottom.
Sometimes I wish id done that instead of my murphy , but as stressful as its been its gonna be worth it. I can se myself kicking back on couch in the middle of nowhere torturing the wildlife with my sax lol.
Hi Leanne, I am loving your videos, I am doing up a Hiace right now and you have been a wealth of information. Just one question - how did you attach the plywood to the walls and do any of your other videos show it being installed? I am trying to binge watch all your videos while I work on my van. Cheers from Melbourne🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🚐. Jenny 🙋🏼♀️ and Hannah 🐕
How exciting for you. The beams are screwed into the van supports. There is a video " what insulation to use" about 9 minutes in will see the start of the wood beams going in.
Awesome stuff, its looking really cool. You are living the vanlife that i crave to do. Are there many good spots round Perth for stealth camping. And are there many good free wifi spots araound.
Hi Leanne, really enjoying your video. BTW, what is the name that bed frames (the extendable and the wooden one) please? Thanks Oh also, if you come around mandurah. You can stop at my house for shower or park your van in front of my house xx
Hi Nora, The beams are called Skorva Mid Beams and are $20 dollars each. The wood slates are called Luroy. The brackets for the walls ask at the service desk as the generally have some in stock. If they don't ask them to order for you. Thanks for the offer appreciated 🙏

Will do a video one day on places to pull up and what I look for
Are you going to get an awning on the new van? You could get a lot more outside living space that way.
Hey Paul , will do eventually put an awning on
