"Ctrl Shift Alt s, x" damn, i had to replay that 5 times lol, after doing that, you can try converting it into a mesh to bring back the vertices. You don't need to add any modifiers or solidify it.

I don't understand why but for me it's not working, sometimes it does but most of the time no. It just size weirdly the edges.
I'll create a tutorial to demonstrate a different way to do it then. I know that the solidify modifier can sometimes size edges in a weird way.
