    THIS FIXED IT! Thank you so much, everyone was telling me to clean the pilot light hole but I did and it didn't work, and I was getting ready to toss it and buy a new hose, thank you so much!❤❤❤

    I've had the heater and hose for years and so far had only run it with the little bottles. I'd tried the hose a few times and never got it to work, but desperately needed the heater last night and came across this video. Just like that I was up and running. Thanks so much for posting this.

    OMG, I went through 2 of these thinking they were both defective. At first it didn't work, but then I primed it some more and boom (no pun intended). I was just about to send this second hose back. Can't thank you enough!

    Thanks so much! Was so frustrated. Tried this on both my 10 ft. and 5 ft. hoses. Both now can run the heater. Before neither would.

    So glad I found this. Thank you! I think this will fix the issue I was having with the connection tree and longer hoses I bought for camping as well. Seems that the old hoses didn't need priming, but the new hoses and components do.

    Only works if i shake the propane tank. So i have my son outside in the snow shaking the tank for 30 minutes so i can stay warm. You know what i tell him? Thanks buddy.

    • @HNXMedia
      @HNXMedia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I struggled forever with this hose until it dawned on me that there was air in the line and it (that air) was not allowing the propane to feed the pilot light. Must have clicked the starter 100 times when I first got this thing (years ago). Once I figured this out, I got it started in seconds every time. I'm surprised they have never made a "priming valve" for the hose or the heater. Stay safe along the water down there, my friend. In my area, all the water is rising with the snow melt.

    I don’t need it for the buddy heater at the moment, but I’m going to have Avery long hose going from a 100 pound tank to my generator and I know I’ll have to purge the line.

    • @HNXMedia
      @HNXMedia  ปีที่แล้ว

    I've got a brand new hose brand new tank brand new Buddy Heater the hose will not deliver enough gas for the heater to stay on. The pilot light will stay lit all day long but as soon as I turn the heat on it Peters out it's not getting enough gas from the tank to the heater to stay on. No idea how to fix this.

    • @HNXMedia
      @HNXMedia  ปีที่แล้ว

      That sounds like a regulator issue. There is a valve inside the regulator that, if you turn on the gas too fast, will severely cut down the flow of the gas. You would need to try to reset this by disconnecting everything, very slowly turn on the gas, very slowly purge the hose and then reconnect. I had exactly the same problem with a gas grill last summer and just replaced the regulator on the hose. Fixed it instantly. Those stupid safety valves are super sensitive and fail all the time (even on brand new equipment). You can hold the regulator and shake it and hear the valve moving inside. Hope this helps.

    • @HNXMedia

      I have never used a filter for this heater, but that is really a personal choice.

    Mine won't go past the pilot with my buddy heater hose. And it's working and flowing, it's driving me nuts

    • @jenniferhamm3118
      @jenniferhamm3118 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's what I've got too. It's primed. It'll keep the pilot light on as long as I want. But it won't let enough gas through to actually run the heater. Worked fine out of the box the first time but I can't get a second use out of it. It's the F273704 that was specifically recommended by Buddy and does not have its own regulator, so its not the you-turned-it-on-too-fast issue that others have mentioned.

  • @keepitloe

    • @HNXMedia
      @HNXMedia  ปีที่แล้ว

      That actually sounds like the regulator needs to be "reset." Sometimes if this gas is turned on too fast it will trip the stupid safety inside the regulator and not enough gas will flow to allow the heater to "ignite." This happens on gas grills ALL the time. Only solution I know is to disconnect everything, purge all the lines and start over, turning the gas on super slowly. On gas grills I just replace the regulator and that fixes the issue. Regs can be damaged and made "too sensitive" just by dropping or banging them too hard. We can thank all the Safety Sallys for installing those stupid "trip resets" inside them.

  • @keepitloe

    Manual says not to doubble regulate the buddy. It already has built in regulator.

      That is their factory OEM hose. Seems as though the "manual" may have been written by a technical writer unfamiliar with the actual product.

      @@HNXMediaSo I should have a regulator before the hose for the Mr. Buddy heaters?
