Bushcraft Survival camp in Ancient Woodland Ruins - Foraging & Campfire Cooking

  • Join me on a bushcraft survival camp in some ancient woodland ruins. I foraged some early spring edibles and cooked up a couple of delicious meals over the fire, which I had in the old fireplace. I spent the night next to the camp fire, under the stars, relaxing and imagining who had enjoyed this space before me. This was one of the best wild camps in recent times as it had a really calming effect on me for days after and helped restore my balance with nature. Ok, enough hippy chat mate.... I hope you're all keeping safe and looking after yourselves and each other.
    Thanks for Watching

Brilliant video Sir and thank you for producing it.
After today’s hike in the Peak District I now know exactly what you meant in one of your earlier videos about how grouse stay in hiding until you are almost on top of them until scarpering! It was in the middle of nowhere and although it didn’t quite involve a quick change of underpants it certainly helped me remember I was still alive! Further to this as I was still recovering from the shock the same thing happened again. He was only four foot away, why they couldn’t of synchronised launched I don’t know.
Secondly, great to see your efforts at saving the butterflies. I managed to save a few exhausted bumblebees last year through warmth and pure honey and there is something strangely satisfying about seeing them fly off from your hand after refuelling. The reason I mention this now is only this morning I opened the front door to bring the milk in only to find one directly outside the doorstep. Despite all efforts, sadly he passed away however as stupid as it sounds it did very briefly enter my mind that just maybe, just maybe his mates had identified the address as an emergency diversion point.
ATB and thanks again mate, Paul
