I was admittedly worried that we’d get an overdose of “member berries” when I heard he was going to put references to past games but I think overall the execution of the story was done pretty well. I definitely have more respect for current voice cast for proving they can work with a story that doesn’t feel like they’re talking down to us like the previous 3D games (not counting Eggman of course since he’s already proven he can work in both styles since Shadow)

This song hurt...a lot. If you listen closely in the chorus, you'll hear the same melody that Sage was humming during her crying moment on the third Island. Hearing that motif appear again, the song that she hummed when she was wishing for a loving family, as she gave her life to protect the one who she would consider family... This credit sequence hurt extremely hard just for that

Reviving her, in the same damn game no less, was such a cheap move. She's no Shadow either. I'd prefer she died rather than working with or even against Eggman. Such a cheap thing to do.
@@a-buttonace Dude as someone who really really doesn't like Orbot and Cuebot I'm super happy she's going to be a character moving forward. His current robots are just shitier version of the two pretty cool robots on Sonic X. Hell I'd take Scratch and Grounder any day over his current bots.
When you realize that Eggman making a fist by his side isn't out of anger (otherwise it would probably have been with both hands), but more so him imagining holding her hand while watching the spectacle together... A subtle way of showing that he does care...in his own way.
I would think of it as more of Eggman resolving himself to do whatever it takes to bring his daughter back. I mean, the man's a genius; he should have the skills, know-how, and bonding experience to restore Sage.

Time and time again, Eggman has lost. And yet until now, he has never felt true "loss". I REALLY hope Sega brings back Sage for subsequent games. Her deadpan roasts and character were a real breath of fresh air in this franchise.

I do have a personal theory about that. When eggman revives sage you see the same cyberspace symbol on his computer. What I'm thinking is that before she got blown up she uploaded herself to cyberspace which allowed eggman to save maybe not necessarily her but her memories and data and recreate her. I do believe that she actually did die, but that eggman will recreate a new body for her. Kind of like how a computer will hold onto a older version of its software just in case it gets corrupted or messed up that way you can restore all the files and information without it being permanently messed up.

Eggman symbolises that not all villains are evil, Eggman had a daughter that he cherished, and even if she was a AI, once she died, he felt as if he actually lost someone he loved, last time this happened was Gerald Robotnik, Gerald was basically the only one in Eggman's family who wasn't dead, until he was executed for his plan to make the ultimate life form.
I love those types of scenes where they make you sad for the villain the only villain I can relate eggman to is Sasuke poor eggman him becoming villain is so sad
While I didn't like Sonic Frontiers ending and felt like the relationship between Sage and Eggman was not deep enough, I liked Sage as a character and the song worked on me because of this. To me, this is the 3rd most hitting song in a video game this year, after the two vocal songs in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 that destroyed my heart.
I feel like Sage’s relationship to Eggman is explained in detail, but not Eggman to Sage, which is saddening considering that sounds significantly more interesting. A man who is a complete egotistical maniac who only cares about himself somehow cares for someone, and it’s really not explained at all.

This game has some of the best use of vocal themes in a long time. In retrospect, you realize Vandalize is Eggman's theme.
I love how everyone got so much character development in this game, including Eggman.
I can't wait to see what they all develop into.
