Thank you for this instruction. Such a simple object, but so precisely employed. I will be practicing the moves you suggest with the item to improve confidence and muscle memory. Thank you!
Pepper gel is NOT so effective! It takes 10-20 seconds to start effecting the attacker (I know from personal experience). Jet ones are the best (15% concertation or more if available in your country). Yes, if the wind is strong, you'll have to be careful. Now, there are some brand new defense sprays-with other chemical substances that are even more powerful-but these are expensive.
Excellent advice! I never thought of a large sharpie 👍 I have all the other things. Thank you, thank you from a 71 year old woman who looks 40 (everyone tells me so) & this can cause me problems sometimes! I thank my Dad for those genetics. I enjoy your channel
Love that pepper spray comes in a gel. I tested mine to see if it still worked and got a bit pepper sprayed because the wind shifted now I dont have to worry about that. Thanks for the links.
What about the compact stun gun or longer shock stick? My concern with the first would be that in a physical struggle, one could inadvertently shock oneself.
I think it is really important to keep a distance away from strangers when walking in the cities or the country ! ⚠️ I carry Pepper spray & Pepper gel for self-defense use. I also carry a compact heat treated metal police baton in my front pocket. It extends to a length of 20" inches. ✅ The best and strongest baton I recommend is the ESP brand made in the Czech Republic. I do not and will not carry a knife for self-defense use.
Yeah. Most people will choose not to use a knife. I also carry a collapsible baton. I’ll check on the ESP. I’ve had mine for about 25 years, and it’s time to upgrade! Thanks for watching.
@@SilverSurvival I do carry a 5.5" inch blade length COLD STEEL 'Espada' folding knife sometimes in the Summer months. I use it to cut blackberry vegetation away from my house driveway. The ESP brand of extendable batons are heat treated and will not bend easily. Watch the professional video demonstrations on TH-cam.
I was okay with this video until the knife part. As a former police officer, this is the absolutely worst thing you can do, is use a knife on someone who is not armed liken a strong arm robbery. If he's armed, it's still the worst thing to do, then you're in a knife fight and that's NOT where you want to be. In a knife fight, the winner goes to the ER and maybe intensive care, and the looser goes to the morgue. I was a lifelong resident of Washington D.C., and grew up on the streets until I got straitened out and did a hitch in the army to get out of the less than good neighborhood I was in. As a former teen gang member, I can tell you, you want distance. The sharpie was a decent idea, but in the lack of being able to carry a gun, the pepper gel is the number one idea. GET TRAINING! A good stout walking stick or cane is great, as it gives you distance over a knife. Get stick trining. Three feet of hickory or blackthorn beats a 4 inch knife. Impact tools and blunt force trauma work instantly vs a cut or stab the attacker may not even notice until it's all over. And you won't have his blood bourn pathogens all over you. A nice adjustable wrench in a side pocket works wonders. An expandable baton if legal in your area works great with proper training. Krav Maga works good too, just keep up the training, no matter what you choose to do. And carry a good stick or cane like from Cane Masters or an Irish Blackthorn stick. I'm 73 years old and retired, and in good health and jog/walk every morning. But I don't leave the house without my black thorn stick. It's good for keeping that distance. If I carry any knife at all, it's just a small Swiss Army knife to open packages and deal with small repairs on the go. And the walking stick can go where a gun or knife or even pepper gel can't, like airline and government buildings. Under the American With Disabilities Act, they can't ask why you need that cane/stick. I've walked right through airport security with my waling stick. Leave the knives in the kitchen for making dinner. Concealed fixed blades are going to look bad in front of a jury, and if you cut/stab someone, you will be infant of a jury. Especially in a big city.
I am 64 years old I carry a Spyderco Para 2 folding knife as well as a tactical pen which is all metal. At my age I am not taking any chances and when I go trout fishing I open carry a handgun and a knife. No matter what kind of stupid laws are in blue states or any state you have the right to defend yourself that is natural law.
Nice blade! I really like tactical pens as well. I take it you don’t do a lot of wading when you trout fish? I do a lot of fly fishing, and spend most of the day wading in rivers. I use my Hill People Recon chest rig for carrying when wading. And I agree with self-defense being natural law! Thanks for watching.
No. You can’t carry any fixed blade concealed, without a CCW permit. You can carry up to a 4” folding knife concealed without permit. You can carry any legal knife open carry. So in a belt sheath, you can carry a Bowie knife if you want.

Thank you for watching and your kind words. Stay Safe!
THANK YOU!
I've got all those except the pepper gel, I'll have to order that... Thanks again!
My pleasure! The gel is really nice. I’ve been sprayed by my own cloud, when doing some training. Not a pretty sight!

Thank you so much! I’m glad that you enjoy the videos and find them useful. Good genetics can be a mixed blessing!
Thank you very much.
My pleasure. And thank you for watching my videos! I appreciate it.
Thanks again 👍
Always welcome

Oh yeah! I had that happen in a training session and it was bad! This gel is very nice! Thanks for watching.
I have two. A German shepherd and Belgium malinois.
What about the compact stun gun or longer shock stick? My concern with the first would be that in a physical struggle, one could inadvertently shock oneself.
Tasers and Stun-guns don't work effectively in the winter months when people are wearing heavy thick warm clothing.
Thanks for reply. Writing from South Africa. No snow here, except high up the Drakensberg range in Maluti mounta@@unitedstatesirie7431
I’ll get into the stun guns a little later. I prefer the stun guns that actually look like guns. Like the Taser Pulse 2.
👍🏻 many thanks !
Thank you too!

I need to get the pepper spray gel
It’s a great product!
I'm going to get pepper gel, thanks
Good choice!

A flashlight is good to carry. At night shining in someone's eyes can blind them and give you an opportunity to get away.
Great tip! Thanks for sharing.

@SilverSurvival oh ok. I live in Missouri thanks!

I dunno about knives but any type of pepper spray or anything like that falls under the firearms act here in Ontario Canada
Yep. Laws definitely vary.
Lighting is too dark.😊
Yeah. The camera was picking up the light from the sky, and not me. That won’t likely happen again! Thanks for watching.
Do NOT use gel spray!!!!! The gel takes a lot longer to activate.
I’ve taken a shot of this, and the spray. This is just as fast, and it builds over time, but it’s effective within seconds.
