    No! You are not too old for this! We Boomers need more representation here on the knitting channels! So lovely to see someone I can completely identify with! Hoping to see lots of you! Shalom from Israel!

    What a lovely thoughtful podcast! I’ll be spending time here catching up and then looking forward to new content alerts🌟. You’ve inspired me to step out from the hats scarves socks space and into the big sky of sweaters.

    Three cheers for a septuagenarian podcaster! Some who looks like me. I, too, am trying to be more ecologically conscious in my yarn selection, including sourcing locally to minimize fossil fuel costs.

    It’s lovely to find a podcast that fits with my age group 😃. I used straight needles & have just started in the round but I’m kinda intimidated about my direction in knitting isn’t going as fast as I would like. You have amazing knits thanks for sharing. I would like to also go over to more natural yarn. I’m spending time clearing my not so good yarn first due to affordability. I shall watch with great interest 🧶🤗🇬🇧

      Zena, I'm looking at the Garter Marler Cardigan by Stephen West right now as a fun way to use up a bunch of my older yarn. Mixing in all the yarns might give some new life to those older, not so great yarns. Thanks for watching!

    Hello from the westcoast of Canada So lovely to find you today as I knit my Emsworth. You're a natural, and such a warm presence! I'm loving seeing your projects and hearing what you have to say! Your Lunenburg is beautiful, knit in all those colours I gravitate towards as well!

      Thanks so much, Beth! I'm stalled out on the Emsworth over the fit issue, but want to return to it. Thanks for listening.

    I like the pantry idea too. The only yarn I've bought in the last several years has been a ball to make my partner a hat (had to be navy blue fingering, and I didn't have any), a few minis, and one skein from a destash. I'm determined to start stashing down, because I have a frightening amount of yarn. I really enjoyed your podcast, and I hope you keep going :) I'm glad you watch Selma - you would not believe how long it took us to convince her to start her own podcast!

    Hello- I really enjoyed your podcast. Your sweater you wore is beautiful. I have that in my queue so it’s nice to see your colors. I’m really partial to blues. Thank you for sharing with us! I just discovered your podcast and was intrigued because I've purchased the Ranunculus pattern but haven't made one yet. I haven't even held two yarns together in all my dozens of projects! Your blue and gray colorways are definitely ones I adore! Your Ranunculus is really beautiful!

    • @northwestknitting5993
      @northwestknitting5993  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, Lynn! Holding two yarns together can be a great way to change gauge or to get a marled effect. You do have to make sure you aren't leaving one strand behind.

    You're never too old, surely! I tuned in as I wanted to hear more about the Lunenburg which is on my list and I must start it before it gets bumped off the 'next' slot by something else .... again. Yours is lovely. Please keep going and thanks for talking at a reasonable speed. I followed every word - some of these younger folk speak far too quickly. Best regards from Cambridge, UK

    If you join Andrea Mowrey’s newsletter she’ll offer % off of patterns quite often. My next project will be Stripes! I love yours and I love the tam. I seem to like browns and grays with blues and greens. And if you like cables, Thea Colman has lots of good patterns.

    even tho this is dated 4 mo ago, i only received it in my feed today! What a wonderful chat, and it is so good to watch and listen to someone my own age! Your sweater and tam are so colorful and go so well with your beautiful hair! You mentioned that you knit in continental style... i use both hands also when i do colorwork, but i do struggle with continental purling. Would you please do a short how-to video on your method of purling? And, BTW, you are not too old to start podcasting! Looking forward to your next episodes

    I enjoyed your podcast, I hope you'll keep going! I have found Ultra Alpaca to be a great workhorse yarn with minimal pilling or stretch. Two of my favorite sweaters are knit in it.

    • @northwestknitting5993
      @northwestknitting5993  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the kind comments, Virginia. And I appreciate the information about Ultra Alpaca. I don't have easy local access to many non-superwash wools, especially in sweater quantities, and that wool/alpaca blend is so lovely.

    Just happened upon your channel as I’m currently knitting the Lunenburg. Yours is just beautiful! What intrigued me about this episode was you preference of berets over beanies. I feel just the same as you and wonder if you could recommend a favorite beret pattern as I’d like to give it a try.

      I think it's specifically either New Brunswick or Manitoba. Franco-ontarian, and I've never heard of that! LOL
