    I can’t work due to my disability and age. I get tdiu p&t and ssa. I don’t understand the title “TDIU Sucks” when in fact it’s improved my life significantly.

    For me, TDIU is the goose that is laying golden eggs. With the VA cruel math and being at 90% I don't have the mental or physical energy to grovel my way to the schedular 100%. I will gladly take the TDIU 100% paycheck I'm getting now and appreciate that the powers that be, have set up a fast track specifically intended to benefit vets in this situation. I don't understand why you guys are questioning this. What I'm questioning the statement you made that persons on TDIU will be re-evaluated at some time in the future.

      Similar situation here . I'm 78 years old at 90% for chronic fatigue , anxiety / depression , COPD , moderate OSA and scarred lungs . Don't know if I have the stamina or emotional well being to file new claims and appeals ; dealing with VBA is way too stressful . Live by myself . TDIU fits me fine .

      TDIU (P&T) fits me, too. Along with my SSA, this financial help for my VA disability is immeasurable. It works best for those unable to work due to disability or age. Those who can still work should attempt 100% scheduler, simple.

    If you are smart financially, especially with a spouse who works, you can do well on TDIU. Just because your disabled and struggling with many things, doesn't mean you have to make bad financial decisions. But I believe it depends on each veteran's situation. I have family and a lot of support and checking with my wife being a nurse, and my life on TDIU doesn't give me the means I'd like to have some hobbies or something but I'm grateful and have made good decisions with my benefits. Veterans on TDIU should be offered financial classes and given the resources to truly understand how money works. Not all veterans have that understanding. Many veterans come out of service with very little understanding of how money truly works. Interest rates, compounding interest, inflation, percentages, taxes, real estate and much more. Most don't know the true difference between an asset and a liability.

    • @karlnordinger5968

    TY for all the knowledge you share. It would seem to me, under the upcoming Mental Health changes, that the inability to work (ie: TDIU) would rate an automatic "4" in at least 1 category, and thus get Vets to 100% schedular? Just a thought.

    • @VeteransDaily
      @VeteransDaily  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Yeah if someone can’t work because of their MH then more than likely they can’t do a lot of other things resulting in a 3/4s across the board

    I am TDIU P&T. I have three other claims that I will be putting in to cross the 100% line. My 80% is from Parkinson's from camp Lejeune. It will only get worse, and I have other physical conditions that can be also presumptive due to my years at Camp Lejeune.

    • @tedgriffiths5216
      @tedgriffiths5216 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @JackDutch-b2n Yes, but I am a plaintiff in the Camp Lejeune lawsuit. When and if I get a settlement, I will lose the TDIU, due to being above the net worth limits. But if I am 100% schedular, those limits do not apply

    • @SergeantStryker
      @SergeantStryker 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@tedgriffiths5216 Ted, You may want to look a little deeper into your impending situation and how it will effect you. TDIU does not have 'net worth limits'. It's based simply on the fact that you cannot work at all. If and when you get the Lejeune settlement, that will not offset what you are now getting from TDIU. You can be a 'rich man' with many so called assets and still get the TDIU provided you actually cannot work and are not working. Life experience tells me there may be way less than people are expecting with the lejeune settlement. The attorneys will get a lions share of the settlement, then the crumbs that are left will be divided among the incredibly large number of former Marines and their families that were poisoned.

    I think it’s a bad deal for both the Veteran and the US economy. At least if they are paying you at the 100% rate, and if you can still work some, maybe not a hedge fund manager at Goldman Sachs lol, but something is better than nothing, it would benefit the Veteran and the economy. At least the Veteran could still be contributing to the US GDP and payroll taxes, but still get the benefits of 100%. Being TDIU and only being able to make 12k a year is ridiculous unless you literally live in the middle of nowhere, or if you are lucky enough to have a spouse that makes good money then it’s great lol 😂
