Ah, the AC2, the worst balanced introtech weapon. At least the rapid fire versions from the Solaris DLC are fun to use.
The RF's are great for spamming the lead hate button at your enemies, ammo counting sucks though
This is the only mechwarrior game that I have ever had fun with the AC2 in.
A maxxed out tier 5 AC2 is brutal if you have 4 or more, mods make it truly scary. Like 20mm sandblasting
The AC/2: If you can see it, you can probably hit it. Have fun, sport.
Thanks because these battletech weapons rules are very confusing👍🏼
Love the DAKKA from 4 AC-2s, what mod adds the scorpion?
I believe its either the Yet Another Clan Invasion mod or Yet Another Clan Mech mod. When i get the next video out I'll double check that 😁👍
Could you please tell us where you got that Scorpion Quad Mech? Please share the file if you dont have a link
It's part of the Yet Another Clan Invasion mod on Nexus 😁👍
How much ammo you got on that Jagermech? I've avoided the rapid fire AC2's because I was worried I wouldn't be able to keep them fed.
With mods i can shove between 1600 and 5000 rounds into that chassis. But vanilla I'd stick to single shot AC's because you might be able to fit around 800 i think last time i looked at the ammo values
@@Void_Emotion_Adventure Ah, I didn't even know there was a mod that puts more shots in the ammo bins.
@ThatSlowTypingGuy yep, i believe its Mod Options by Bobbert that lets you set values for mech armor, speed, damage taken, ammo count, melee damage and more. Definitely a great mod to have!
All around solid information, but you need to build interest in the topic a little more. Think like you're trying to sell the weapon in universe. "Want to pound the enemy from a distance while staying cool? Force your enemies to move and heat up while you hold a good position? Meet the Autocannon Class Two - delivering pain at 1200 meters per second!" From there you can go a bit more into statistics or discuss its in-world history/famous designs that use it. Anyone can read a table of statistics - only you can give it your attitude.
"You do not need me to describe the medium laser. You already know it in your bones, in ancestral memories passed along time immortal. It is the platonic ideal of a mechwarior's weapon. Not the deadliest alone, but also a threat that cannot be ignored. It is not a furnace that will overheat your mech in seconds, but but your temps will steadily rise. It is what all others are measured against. Let me demonstrate in this quick duel"
That is just *gross*. I had yet to really see a reason to grab Solaris DLC... until now. I have *got* to try this. Thanks for the vid!
Anytime! 😁👍
Your videos are dope, keep making them ^^
💚💚💚💚 this actually means a lot to me, i love making content, and i am always trying to do better. 😁👍 its hard when i don't have access to the newest games and gaming hardware so this helps keep my morale up. Thank you.
The AC2, my favorite overweight, underperforming Autocannon.
I say all this, but the ASN-DD and Blackjack are among my favorite mechs.
Its heavy, its long range, and its rapid, but it gets the job done. A good choice for wide open fields and in a regimental line.
Two AC2's is enough to cut down most light mechs.
As for RF/BF/Standard, if I'm going on missions with a mech with limited space, the BF is better due to the burst of projectiles consuming 1 ammo and dealing more than 1 damage, as opposed to the RF which consumes 1 ammo per one shot, which adds up quick.
In an arena brawl, the RF's are great because you know the exact number of units, and dont have any unexpected enemies to worry about conserving ammo
The RF's big downside IS their RoF, requiring you to store more ammo than you typically would comparitive to the damage you can output with regular/BF Autocannons.
BF's have better Damage Per Ton, where RF's have better Damage per Second. Its still fun to lead wall someone with a Jägermech though. Or the KGC-CAR
I love a good Jager with 4 AC2 cannons, with mods i can make that a Jager with 6 AC5's 😈😈😈 also with the Yet Another Mechlab mod, you can make weapons weightless, 6 RAC 2's 😬
I've been stranded on the 'ol Sony, so I've had to play vanilla Mech 5 for a long while now lol
But as for mods, I used to play alot of MercTech back in the day, and the things you could do in that mod were amazing. I remember running a Mauler with quad Caseless AC5's and some MRM's for fun murder times.
Or the Archer AGC with I-Swarm LRM ammo with a quartet of LRM-20's. Almost killed my computer with every shot, but man it was funny watching micromunitions give someone the ol Macross treatment
@irishijo1 i still need to check out Merctech later on
@@Void_Emotion_Adventure The design philosophy is to bring the game closer to the TT. Last I heard they were incorperating Knockdowns and Land-Air Mechs, but that might have been a PirateTech exclusive
The two mods (PirateTech and MercTech) were incompatible with basically every mod except for eachother. Mostly because MercTech is basically its own rebuild of every system inside the game, such as the aformentioned Knockdowns/Gyros
@irishijo1 oooooooh that sounds like it might be a fun time learning about that side of the games 😆😆
