THANK YOU! You're the only person so far that shows that "TABLO" is a channel that you add like the OTHER Roku channels! I wasn't understanding that, until YOUR presentation!

I was a early adopter of the Tablo unit way back before the new units offered a internal hard drive. I actually prefer the external drive due to the heat of the units. I have had a external fail and prefer the ease of throwing another in its place. Quad makes it easy to still watch on more than one TV at a time and still record multiple programs. Glad to have the lifetime subscription in place so no month or yearly fees. Love telling the sales people pushing cable or Sat. that I have an antenna on the roof getting over 100 channels and DVR recorder. They just look lost as how to stop the conversation. Love the Tablo Ripper app also so I can add recorded content to my home video files.

Can you use the Tablo Ripper to record to an external dvd recorder to save programs on a dvd? Thank you

Love the Quad you showed and have been using it for over 4 years. Tried out their new 4th gen and sent it back after 3 days. Slow, no commercial skip and could not hold a candle to the older model. Big step backwards...

For years I was using the original Air TV and I just got one of these. It's SOOO much better. I'm getting a few more channels and the channels I get are much reliable. If I had known I would have gotten one years ago.

@ 14:32 you mention Tablo is changing their subscription so after July you can't skip commercials. Is this for recordings too or just stream content? So if I record a show, can I skip the commercials or not? Thx for the video!

    • @NaterTater

@@N_Fortune for me, yes. They have their pros and cons. For example I think you need a TiVo (or mini) for each tv whereas you dont for Tablo. Tivo also seems a little more sided towards streaming vs OTA.

@@NaterTater ...sorry, one more question. So the only difference between this & the Tablo QUAD HDMI is this requires internet but the HDMI works off an HDMI port to work, right? I just got done scanning for my local channels using the MOHU Leaf and signal was decent for most channels but still couldn't get MeTV for some reason... Oh yeah & I just subscribed! =)

Interesting, I bought it about a year ago and it didn't include a HDD. I put a 120 MB drive in and have been satisfied except that I seem to have a multi path signal problem even though I am just 12 miles from the station. The result is occasional buffering. ATSC3 might fix that. I would recommend new purchasers wait for the 3.0 model.

Nate, I have been using Tablo for two years and love it. I have never used the Remote Access until now. Well I can't get it to work. I have two questions. 1) I have Verizon 5G Home Internet. I have the box type Modem Router combo. I can not get my Tablo Remote access to connect to it. I did turn on the UPnP but I can't see the IP address to see if it is correct. Can you hook it up to the Verizon Modem/Router combination?
If not, can I buy another router and hook it up so I can use Tablo's Remote Access?
    Thanks!

Bought a Tablo hoping to get OTA channels like you. The Tablo won't receive 29 channels that my TV does! The transmission towers are 14 miles away all in the same direction. I contacted Tablo to find out why I can't receive the same channels as my TV but they can't give me a straight answer or offer any help. I wish I had never bought it!

Did you use a splitter on the coax feeding your TV? If yes was it a powered splitter? If no get a powered splitter to avoid signal loss.

We have a non smart tv but we do have a Roku. We were able to set up the Dual box to our TV. Our TV is far from our router so used wireless connection and not Ethernet. The Tablo comes up as a channel on Roku. We are going to try the HDMI version to see if the lag time improves significantly.

Because of the many rave reviews of the Tablo Quad I purchased one directly from the manufacturer. I was able to set it up successfully but after that it was a total dud. I would have to constantly power cycle to allow my network to find it. I contacted customer service for help and I enabled remote for them to troubleshoot and they couldn't connect either. After 5 days of going back and forth with CS I finally got fed up and requested a refund and I had to pay for the return shipping on a defective product.

This video was of an Infomercial type of programming. You should verbally tell viewers that the product that you are featuring is a Paid Promotion and if the product was sent to you for free. Did you pay for this product? How much does this product cost? There's no problem with receiving a product for free but let your viewers know verbally.

    • @NaterTater
      @NaterTater  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Thanks for your feedback. It's a personal review, I'm not paid to promote the product. I get the product for free to test and make a video (as stated in the video description and 20sec start of video overlay). I'm in no way obligated to give a positive review and in fact point out several flaws of this product as well as completely bash some other products on my channel where fitting. No doubt there are plenty of infomercial channels but I strive to give honest reviews based on actual testing.
