In this video I repair dead wireless wifi repeater / booster /extender. This was a cheap model bought off ebay that lasted a couple of weeks before it died.
Thanks for the idea of swapping power supplies (which we should have plenty of spares in our junk box) to fix something similar in the future. Much appreciated.

Thanks is exactly what I was looking for, I have one and I want to change the ac power supply, so that it can work with batteries, for when I go camping or there is no electricity in my house ... Thank you for your advice. Mine didn't work, because it had a loose clip which presses the contacts against the plug. It shows that this is such a cheap device with many design errors.
i have the same wifi repeater . mine has a faulty power supply from the factory and i only got it in the mail today i guess i'll be opening it up with a screw driver to see why it's not turning on.
Can you take apart one of the Netgear N 300 or N700 I'm trying to see if I can rig up a old radio antenna to mine so I can get better service I just don't know what the inside looks like or if it would make a difference, I can't find one video on anyone trying to do this so maybe its a dumb idea I don't know . I always have two green lights on mine but I will lose Wi-Fi connection it could be a bandwidth issue and I changed the signal from 2hz to 5hz so now there are some things that won't connect to my range extender and they make it impossible to get back into the settings
Just bought one of these KP300 with the twin aerials. There was no UK plug adapter with it, so got a full refund. I have loads of decent 5v supplies. I will modify this and get it going. Thanks.
Hi i have another type of problem. All leds are on (wps, wan, LAN and power) but i cannot detect the wifi from PC or smartphone. It seems that doesn't work. Also the reset button doesnt work. I press and hold for more than 10 seconds but nothing happen. Some advise for me? Thanks in advice
I had the similar problem with an cheap older repeater model. I took my repeater apart and simply detached the small plastic dud that is supposed to press down the resetbutton (from the outside in) and then I nibbled upp the hole where it sat a bit larger and put the repeater back togheter again. Now I can get to the resetbutton with a little plastic pin and reset as usual again! Hope you can understand my description! Good luck! :)
Hi there, so I tried going through the step by step process of this video, my extender switches on but still isn't working, I'm literally desperate for a solution.
i have the exact opposote problem. the circuit board with the led lamps is broken and i want to replace it. if i would know the adress of the owner of the video i would have sent my wifi repeater to him so that he can exchange the board and have a full working repeater instead of this charger solution. does anybody know how to get the realtek circuit board with the lamps.

my wifi repeater has a light on power indicator only and I can't detect my repeater. You think this is the solution too?
