This updated version of paint, is absolutely useless. many of the features don't work. I cannot select and image and move it around as before. It does not allow me to copy an image as before. It just does not work
One disadvantage in Paint 11, is that you cannot hide the ribbon to make the work area larger. Anyone who knows how to do it, please post here. Thanks.
Is it just me, or does anybody else believe that Win11 broke paint? I used it almost daily for years in Win10, but 2 pieces that seem horrible broken; The scroll bars seem to disappear, so that when zoomed in, its not possible to pain. Frustrating. Second, choosing and then moving a small section --less than 10 x 10 pixels--is impossible. This makes the program horribly, horribly difficult to use. Is it just me, or did MS screw up a simple, useful program? It is actually physically painful to use--I find myself holding my breath and cramping my hands to do simple things.
Paint was my go to for over 25 years. No change, I could just get stuff done. Now I'm on week 3 of trying to figure out how to change font color from black to my actual selection (which doesn't seem to take). What is it with these people that mess with something that is proven, tried, and true. Now it's just messed up.
The new UI is obnoxious. The focus is on the canvas! Why would I see the espaced element, rounded icon, space out canvas? No!I would take the MS Paint from Windows 7/XP! For the background fill, change the second color. Same feature.

There no way to change the actual color of the typed font on the new version. On the old version, you do that by selecting "color 1" and then choosing the color. But there is no "color 1" option so it seems you're just stuck with black text.
Can you give me a hand. I have ITC Franklin Gothic BookCd installed and in paint for some reason every time I try to type with it it looks like a different kind of Franklin font. It was working fine up until a few weeks ago. When I type with it in open office the font works perfectly fine, but if I copy and paste it into paint it goes back to the other Franklin font even though it is listed as ITC Franklin Gothic BookCd. When I do the reverse and copy the font from paint into open office, even though it is listed as ITC Franklin Gothic BookCd in paint, when it gets pasted in open office it says Segoe UI and looks like the wrong Franklin font again. I've installed and reinstalled a bunch of times and even uninstalled the paint app but nothing is working.
3:22 bah, silly goose. It is filling the white background,...with white. Since your background color (color 2) is set to white just like your background, the opaque checkbox seemingly changes nothing.
@@NXTWindows this is pure Microsoft comedy ;) I see two options first one is that they simply didn't tell people that update for paint is already in beta channel (seems like that) or they are simply dumb
What a missed opportunity by adding nothing! I was hoping for a 3D feature in Paint to give drawings dimension. Also, to be able to rotate typed words. Very disappointing...
Wow y'all could've added a couple new features to the app like transparent background option, basic layering option, and new tools, rotation selection and 1 blending brush and left it at that and it would've been perfectly simple for this new era of technology. If you ever do plan on adding things please update windows movie maker aswell.

I used to be able to press 'prt sc' and then paste into Paint app. Now it involves several steps that I cannot remember. Useless upgrade.
First thing I notice is a huge blank space at the top of the app window. Sad that they didn't find a way to fill that space with something useful.

i cant even use save as function and windows 11 wont let me install the classic version either!

Still no way to rotate selection/ text at a specific angle?
There no way to change the actual color of the typed font on the new version. On the old version, you do that by selecting "color 1" and then choosing the color. But there is no "color 1" option so it seems you're just stuck with black text.
There is. Just create a text box like usual and click any color before typing.

My new paint doesn't have the clipboard section at the top left. How can I get that?

Is there any way to change the background behind the canvas? Both blank canvas and the background is white, i can't differentiate the canvas border
I believe so, there is a mod (so unofficial) that was made to have a pure dark mode experience.

HyperV running Windows 8.1. Looks native on video because I gave the VM like 32gb ram.
Been using Paint to add text to jpegs (pictures, documents, etc.) for years, but this new version is total confusion.
