- WTOL's Kelly Heidbreder gets a welding lesson from one of America's most famous custom car designers, Gene Winfield. Winfield drew huge crowds at Autorama 2020 in Detroit. The 92-year-old legend still tours around the country sharing his stories and his craft.
Winfield has built cars for many iconic movies like Back to the Future and Bladerunner. He has also built cars for many of Hollywood's brightest stars. Find out what Kelly and Gene have in common.

Oh yes he lives right down the street from me , I went to one of he’s classes, and I’ve been in couple of the car shows at his yard /shop, in Mojave, and I have pictures of some of the legends I took including barris with gene and Larry Watson too , I’ve been in Larry’s shop in Victorville with gene windfield, kool thanks gene praise Jesus grace Christ amen BigAl California.

both born on the 16th June.........Gene drove my chopped 40 ford down here in New Zealand in 2007.........he is looking very tired......I hope he is ok.
