IMO you can’t go wrong with PP but I’ve been using the reaction for a while for bass for the price the performance works for me. I’ve got so many reels putting PP on all of them would definitely put a dent in the wallet.
i'm just starting to try braid so your details help. nice to hear someone jus talk not like the infomercial much of YT , especially for fishing, has become. keep the candor coming man, it is great! btw, i just ordered my SaltX 6000 so might go to school on your experience... :D
I used suffix 832 hi Viz yellow then I tried reaction tackle same color because it was cheaper and I love it haven't had any problems at all no break offs or anything and you can get 1500 yards for less than 50 bucks.
Reaction tackle is your best optionthat stuff is very strong I caught a 7,3ft sandbar shark with my Spinfisher 10,500 with 80lb no fade black from reaction tackle
I'm not a big fan of the v2 power pro slick. I like the original. That's why I like the reaction tackle line. Feels like the original. Really impressed with it so far.
good comparison. In my case i prefer the stiffer line in some applications (twitching jigs for coho). Generally casting jigs 1/4 or heavier so casting distance is not very limited with the correct rod. The soft line casts and feels amazing but the action of twitching jigs tends to create small knots in the line which tighten onto themselves. Twitching line will always tend to get ruined no matter which line but i find the stiffer line lasts longer and isnt a significant casting disavantage.
I have been using reaction tackle in Southwest Florida fishing in the mangroves and passes for five years on my inshore rods 15-20 and 30 pound, have no problems with reaction tackle braid 4carrier recently purchased their nine carrier braid definitely smoother and not as noisy in the guides. and their price point is just really good all the offshore stuff I use Momoi diamond gen 3 and I've had absolutely no problems with either
I've wanted to the new reaction tackle braid but I'm all spooled up at the moment and I just got diamond braid 80lb hollow core spooled on my senator 6/0 for trolling that's some incredible line for the price!
Been using reaction tackle for the last 4 or 5 years and never had a problem, I have been snagged up with 25lb and broke the 30lb leader before the braid, even broke a 50lb swivel pulling on a snag
PP, J-Braid and Sufiz 832 are absolutely awesome. Though the RT is much better value for money, given how many reels I have. Only thing about RT is that it’s much thicker (lb test considered), which compromises casting distance. It also fades A LOT quicker than the “premium” braids.
Not only did I have the same problems with kastking but the weave is so rough that it actually ate through my guides and reel arm on my penn battle, yes it made ridges in a metal bail arm. I had the 30 and 50 lb
That's amazing I'm glad I tossed it before it made it that far thanks for the feedback on the line I don't try to diss those lower end brand but I'm glad I'm not alone with my bad experience to. I'm giving yo zuri braid a try right now as we speak seems like the only contender to power pro.
@@KennethLondon-ft9gw im currently using Sufix 832 braid. Its expensive but 1 hard braid to beat and smooth as silk. Not only that , after 1 season its pretty much lost no color at all (I use the hi vis yellow)
I second the recommendation for Sufix 832. I’ve also found Kastking line to be absolute crap. It’s the only line that has backlashed on me on a spinning reel. I had 20 pound Kastking braid on a cheap Abu Garcia Black Max reel and it was constant backlash. I had the guy who owns my local tackle shop give it a try and he too could hardly get it to cast without backlash. I bought Sufix 832 from him and now the reel works ok, not as well as my better ones by Lews or Shimano.
I have used kastking 100lb moss green for pier and surffishing for 2 yrs. I have caught alot of 50 to 150lb fish with it. The color does rub off some, but its strong, in my opinion. But I have never used anything under 80lbs on my set ups. Cast good for me too. I get 80 to 100 yard castout off the pier with 8oz and bait. But maybe I just got a good batch 2 yrs ago. I bought several 1000 yards from them and still using it.
I run Kast 20 lb works great, havent put on my 60 lb as ive had no need to re spool it yet. #20 is on my abu max toro and it casts better than fireline on my shimano baitrunner 6k and ive even swapped reels /rods to see what change and so far I still like the KK better. I do agree the color bleeds right away but as long as the line performs idc after one day fishing its not an issue.
Onyx is great, absolutely slaughter striped bass with that on 50LB braid. May be a little overkill but I can fling 15 pound stripers over the side of the boat like it's nothing with this stuff
not gonna lie theres this braid called jof on aliexpress that i buy its $3 for 150yd and i like it about the same as jbraid👀 i just go a size down since its a little thick
J braid is great braid I would only recommend Jbraid X8 rather than the x4 cuz the x4 kept breaking on me when I would make shock leaders and I lost tackle just throwing it onto the surf but other than that yes Kastking is shit and piscsun is shit I recommend this one brand called NordTale braid they make great stuff and it’s cheaper too but it’s just thicker than advertised but my favorite braid of all time is Fins it has 8 strands and is so durable withstands jetty rocks and pier oysters
After a full season with j braid on the surf it wasn't for me it twist alot for some reason switched to PP and was good to go I still use it for fineness bass setups though.
To say to a kastking braid that a crap is bullshit from a statement. The author praises, elevates everyone else and rejects kastking with contempt !? Why did he include it at all if he intended to throw it in the trash right away? Objective review ??? I doubt it. Not all guides on fishing rods are suitable for a braid, just as product quality assessment is not for everyone.
Kast king is not good I don't want anyone else to get it and expect anything from it it absorbs alot of water and it does not lay well on a spool casting or spinning gear.
@@KennethLondon-ft9gw This is your opinion and then it is written that way, but the product is not thrown away and it is called "crap". A serious reviewer pays attention to how and what he writes and tries to offer credible arguments. The fact that, in your experience, Kast King absorbs too much liquid for someone and is not a crucial problem (depending on the fishing technique) and my experiences with winding are very positive (it also depends on the quality of the Fishing Reel). Your desire for Kast King not to reach customers further compromises the quality of your review. Let customers decide for themselves. There are several factors at play - price for example. Numerous reviewers write respectfully about Cast King and, without raw passions, state both advantages and disadvantages. The laundry approach, I’m afraid, disqualifies you somewhat for serious consideration.

Yo this really helped me decide what I should get, keep up the great work.
I've used power pro and Hercules and reaction tackle I like them all
You should try 832 suffix. Feels amazing and 10 lbs breaks at 20lbs!!!! Cheap braid for me is Spiderwire EZ braid.
So its fake in details. Test pounds indicated should be match with the real breaking point of the line with a minimal discrepancy.

I've been using Hercules 50, 60, and 80 lb 8-strand braid for surfcasting and saltwater boat charters for about five years. I'm happy with it.
I just got the herc 80 and I was very surprised how loose the weave is had to send it back but I'm sure it's good on a boat.
@@KennethLondon-ft9gwmine wasn’t loose sounds like a bad batch I recommend you try it again!

Is 10 lb spider wire ez braid good enough for crappie?
I use 5lb power pro for panfish

I use kastking on one of my surf rods here in the FL panhandle. No issues at all. It's not "crap"......imo
Now I understand this rod was designed for a different style of fishing that I wasn't used to I'm still puzzled why that rod was rated to 8oz.

Reaction hands down something about the Hercules it's super loose and absorbed alot of water
I got a couple questions would the hurcules be good for baitcaster or rt be better? (20lb) and how fast was shipping?
I would go reaction Tackle and the shipping is super fast avoid bright colors as those seem to me a little thicker
@@KennethLondon-ft9gw appreciate it
@@ptwfishing9340 I use it on both spinning and baitcast. I love it(for the price)and fast shipping. Just spool it properly and it’ll be fine.
Any experience with the piscifun lunker?
No I gave up on the cheap line after a while but if you're fishing straight down off a boat then it does matter it will work casting is another story
I bought one spool of Kastking braid and I thought it was the worst fishing line. I tried using it and replaced it after one day. Never again.
Hello sir braid line who is the best coler.
I like dark green"เขียว" is my favorite and next is ขาว if the fish are not picky
Reaction tackle or Hercules for salt water surf fishing?
Reaction all day tried Hercules but it's really rope-ey.

Spiderwire is somehow worse than Kastking
Spiderwire stinks lol I hate it I sold a reel once because it always had wind knots come to find out it was the line!
Cortland Braid, Jerry Brown, Momoi Gen 3 Diamond, Power pro is trash.....
Kastking is crap
